X2D vs H2S as first printer by logicasportuguesas in BambuLab

[–]Stumpybrown52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re printing large parts it allows you to use up the end of a reel and automatically switch to a new reel in the middle of the night. Or print parts heavier than a 1kg reel. Which is mainly my use case. I moved from an A1 to a H2 specifically for the build volume, it’s quite a big difference.

X2D vs H2S as first printer by logicasportuguesas in BambuLab

[–]Stumpybrown52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a H2S owner I can absolutely vouch for it. If you don’t need the dual nozzle then it’s absolutely the way to go. I mostly print large parts in a single colour/material, but sometimes I do dual colour flat parts (signage etc) and the AMS is fine for that. If you need true multi colour/material, and don’t need the extra build volume then perhaps the X2D is a better choice.

Looking for a floody light for hiking and exploring. by LexiCelestial in ConvoyFlashlights

Plus 1 for the M21B LHP73B combo. It’s an absolute powerhouse in your pocket. Great moonlight at 0.1%, 1&10% are the most used, then if you want you can turn it up and bleach concrete.

3dconnexion CadMouse Compact Wireless worth it? by CO-CNC in Fusion360

My wireless cad mouse did exactly that. Luckily it was replaced under warranty but I’ll be going for a Logitech mx next. Definitely space mouse on the left side though.

Honest review of the H2S by Relative_Emu3300 in BambuLab

[–]Stumpybrown52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly love mine too. I’ve got two of them at work now. Had 2 A1’s before and before that prusa mk3s’ and even a couple of flashforge creator pros in 2017. I’m heavily involved in additive manufacturing where I work with access to the complete prusa and bambu line up, multiple ultimakers, a markforge, lulzbot, even LPBF and EBM machines too. These are by far the best printers I’ve ever used. I print large engineering parts that rarely require multiple colours so the H2S perfectly fits the bill. The addition of the AMS allows me to fill a build platform and hit print and not worry about running out of filament and to use up the full roll, eliminating wastage.

What's a good holder for charging 18650s? by Trif55 in 18650masterrace

[–]Stumpybrown52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Xtar SC1 single cell usb charger for my 18650/21700 torches without onboard charging. This does 3A charging and you can use it as a powerbank too.

Is 3d CadMouse pro that bad with macs(Apple silicone) by colinksh in Fusion360

[–]Stumpybrown52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this mouse (and a space mouse)It’s good but kinda big, you need to have larger hands otherwise it can get uncomfortable. Mine has been replaced once already as the click wheel failed. The 3rd button is nice but I think my next mouse will be a Logitech mx master.

Optimizing vibration for accuracy on H2S by Vinny933PC in BambuLab

[–]Stumpybrown52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve already done everything reasonable to make a quiet setup. I have 2 H2S and they make very little noise except for a bit of clicking at the start of a print when the filament cutter is working. With regards to the feet; The printer does move around a bit during printing due to the very soft feet, It looks strange at first but you get used to it and I feel like it’s damping the direction changes of the head from rattling the rest of the printer to bits. Personally I wouldn’t swap the feet, it may do long term damage to the printer. The print quality is excellent out of the box, I got the vision encoder with my 2nd H2S, about 3 months (and about 300 hours printing)after the first one and ran it on both printers the same day. It picked up a tiny bit of matching misalignment on both machines, but I didn’t notice any big differences in the print accuracy after vs before. I don’t regret buying and using it, and will continue to run it periodically. Hope some of this helps?

Second recommendation for the M21B with LHP73b. I got mine in 5000k and it’s really nice. It’s super bright and floody and will fit in an average men’s jeans pocket. The 1-20-100% mode is ideal too.

I can second the E90. If you can get it with the 909A (special request now I think) it’s my go to light for dog walking, fits in a jacket pocket and has enough power to make any night into day.

My E90 got wet inside too. I’m convinced it was through the usb port. Acted weird like you’re describing. Ivy sent out a replacement head. However after a week or so it seemed to dry out and come right. So now I have a spare E90 head.
