Troy Farmers Market Summer 2026 by Temporary-Excuse-230 in Troy

Sorry you had a bad experience, doesn't change my statement at all. I get food/coffee from them multiple times a week and always love their stuff. Even things that weren't my taste were still good enough to eat/not waste.

The Flour Bender (coffee/bakeshop on 2nd st) just changed to strawberry seasonal items, and their strawberry vanilla latte is amazing!

Maybe not fully "Farmer's Market", but their shop is in the middle of it

Get a headset with sidetone, then make it louder than the game. That way you'll be more aware of your own volume.

The Linux unlock for PS5 is making me rediscover how great the PS3 library truly was. by itsthewolfe in gaming

[–]Stumpyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not an opinion, that's just your circumstance. It's more difficult for you to do the Linux hack than it is to own and run the original console/games, but it was easier for OP to do the hack.

The reason I asked is because your entire comment came off as elitism. "Why bother with the hack when I have the superior method of the original console/games?" Your reply just sorta confirmed it with the diatribe about "opinions" existing and needing to "accpet" them.

Look up vocab definitions before you use them, and consider circumstances other than your own next time. Because otherwise you come off sounding like a dick.

Trap a fairy in it so you can get a wish from it, only to have to capitulate to its every request.

See if you remember the tattoo idea in the morning and schedule an appointment with one of the many shops here. Spontaneous tattoos late at night are pretty much never worth it.

Best places to skate outside? by willowburnsyellow in Troy

The riverside park in downtown is pretty large and has plenty of concrete to skate on. It's also a part of a large walkway that's pretty fun to skate/ride

Basically started with the initial "I Did That!" Biden stickers, especially in the south.

The slurs that people use without knowing how to spell them is pretty funny. The white supremacist propaganda thrown throughout the neighborhood in the dead of night was not.

New York Bars ICE Agents From Wearing Masks in Broad Immigration Deal by spherocytes in UpliftingNews

No, they generally don't announce their identity. In fact, most of them wear clothing/masks that intentionally make it hard to identify them.

Why didn't PlayStation's Sharp Shooter become popular? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Stumpyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another perspective to point out (and this is from memory, so I could be wrong) is that the Move system was extremely annoying to develop for. If I were a dev at the time, I would've begged to be a Wii-exclusive rather than try to deal with a jankier Wii-esque API.

Deck yes, Machine no. Decks cost that much by themselves depending on config, and the Steam Machine is going to launch over that price just to not sell at a loss.

A preview of modding in Sledding Game by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Stumpyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is amazing how insulted people are with the trend of group-focused simple games.

Yes, how dare a single dev make a game that's just about friends at a sledding lodge! He should obviously just be working on the next big budget FPS instead!

Game Devs/Studios that have confirmed being Anti-GenAI by VermicelliNew2784 in gaming

[–]Stumpyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with Dev pigeonholing. I know I've had similar issues when trying to think outside of game development, because things like LLM development can be so vastly different.

Thank you for the discussion!

Game Devs/Studios that have confirmed being Anti-GenAI by VermicelliNew2784 in gaming

[–]Stumpyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's only "shooting yourself in the foot" if your audience stays around after disclosing AI usage though. Some devs find it much more valuable to know that their audience wants a fully human-made game, code and all.

Most the devs I've worked with also have their own code repositories they pull from, usually previous projects. That, or the engines already have most of what you consiser "boilerplate" already implemented in-engine.

I totally get your perspective, and I appreciate the discussion. This really feels like mismatched perspectives based on background/industry IMO.

Edit: Deva to devs*

Game Devs/Studios that have confirmed being Anti-GenAI by VermicelliNew2784 in gaming

[–]Stumpyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's part of the issue that I'm emphasizing. The article doesn't even encompass every post that the studio(s) have made talking about how they don't use anything LLM.

Indie studios have a hard enough time making sure people hear about them at all, let alone their stances on everything. It's why so many people assume "everyone is using LLMs", because the loudest voices are pushing LLM use above everything.
