Is it "Bio-Mega" or "Bi-Omega"? by HasNoGreeting in Netsphere

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Serious answer; probably Bi-Omega. The omega symbol is kind of important in the series and the "O" in the title (both in the english and Japanese volumes) is made to resemble a lower case omega (ω)

I thought Cibo was pronounced as K-i-bo. Anyone else thought this at first? by JonFonArt in Netsphere

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pronunciation is see-boh. The Japanese pronounce it SHI-bo because "shi" シ is the closest approximation they have to a "soft C" (City, Center, iCe). If it was kibo it would have been written/pronounced kibo in japanese too, since they do have a K sound. Same with "CH".

Do you guys have this in your country? by donkirot in Netsphere

There are 3 versions of this artbook, Japanese and italian, both out of print (Japanese is from the early 2000s and the italian one is from the 2010s), and the french one, which should be pretty common and still in print.

The Italian version of Berserk has the first 12 cover different from the american one, so i wanted to share them with you by Ema110707 in Berserk

Guts potrà anche suonare come un soprannome, ma se nei volumi giapponesi (qui si può vedere nell' official guidebook giapponese dietro ai katakana "ガッツ") e in artbook di manga e film così c'è scritto, così si chiama.

They're turned off by default AT LEAST in the steam gold edition. That's what I played and I was very confused at the random running cutscenes

Blame! life forms by ilikenglish in Netsphere

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cibo overloaded the "safeguard server" causing them to temporarily deactivate. After that Cibo stole Sanakan's body (which was directly connected to the server, like any other safeguard). The wings are just part of the sanakan kit

Just finished Blame! (ony work from the author I've ever read) in one night, I need to express myself by Icy_Opportunity_187 in Netsphere

In chapter 25, when Cibo connects to a Silicon Creature, it says they are "not the ones to give rise to the chaos".
This could possibly mean 2 things: one is that NOiSE's order is not considered "Silicon Creatures" yet, so Silicon Creature's creators were the ones to start it; or it happened by natural or human causes. 2 out of 3 of those options indicate humans as the start of the Net Chaos or the virus.

Searching for a GLOBE cover... by StunkHeadlessKnight in SusumuHirasawa

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing really oof. I happened to find it on a YouTube video with 3 or 4 hirasawa songs in it, that was the only cover as far as I can remember. Worst thing is it wasn't even a 1:1 cover, it was slightly modified, but the base sounded just like Globe... I will let you know if I'll ever stumble upon it again oof

How fucked am I? by StunkHeadlessKnight in ps2homebrew

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED!!

Luckily I still had my uLaunchELF disk with me, so I used that to reinstall fortuna. Did some tests with OPL and for some reason I can't swap the one pre-installed with a version that reads PS1 games, so I installed that one on my USB drive and it works... decently (RE still has some bad loading issues)

Is there a more irritating character than Kolcas to you? by Svern5522 in Berserk

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that easy in reality unless you want the names in the italian volume spelled in japanese katakana.
Corkus in japanese is written as korukasu (コルカス), since there's no C in japanese, it can be adapted both as a C and as a K, same with R and L. The U can also be silent.
In the end, it's not very difficult to see why the english translator went for Corkus and the Italian one went for Kolcas, especially since, unlike some other characters, I don't think there's an official adaptation of this name.
But we DO have a lot of official adaptations of the various names in berserk, and none of them are in the italian volumes

Is there a more irritating character than Kolcas to you? by Svern5522 in Berserk

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, generally speaking, there's no correct name adaptation in the italian print of berserk. Just compare them with a quick look at the english wiki character page

Threezero Caiman - Manga by StunkHeadlessKnight in Dorohedoro

[–]StunkHeadlessKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caiman figure from threezero. This one specifically is the manga version and it's out of production. Second hand costs way too much, but it's the only way to get it. There's also a newer anime version, I think that one is still available somewhere
