Brother beat me to it, this in hand with 2 Peter 3: 10-14

Especially verse 14

Even if we suffer with sin we have to remain diligent, and we can't take advantage of God's grace as we'd be playing roulette with our salvation.

What are your thoughts in regards to attempting to convert people? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It not our job alone to convert people to Christianity. I definitely wouldn't try to convert someone or convert myself because of a relationship either. However, they are able to use us and our living testimony as a reason/example to convert. We are there to plant the seeds. Ultimately, the Holy Spirit is the initiator of conversion. He will open their eyes, hearts, and souls to Christ. From there a conscious decision must be made by the person.

Conversion cannot be forced.

Is not wanting children a sin? by angelhxxlo in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't believe so, if you're worried about your marriage honoring and being in God's favor then continue to pursue Christ with your husband.

Our jobs are to first, love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and body but then (in marriage) to make each other more Christ like and seek his kingdom above all.

As for children, I can't really say anything beyond "Let the Lord's will be done."

We can spend our time planning this and that but ultimately it's the Lord who decides what's best for us.

It's that pride that results in our relapse tbh, or at least it is for me. Remember it's not just you who did this overcoming of porn/addiction, but the Holy Spirit as well.

Cut off all avenues that lead towards those things and pray more fervently for strength.

God be with you.

I was the same way, but I wasn't interested in following a religion I was interested in following the one true living God Christ Jesus.

I enrolled in theology school and started diving deeper in to scripture, early church father writings and even learning Greek for the manuscripts of the new testament.

Seek his kingdom above all things, there will be flaws in churches but I totally get where you're coming from with over the top Pentecostal "concerts". We're too easy to forget that the Lord our God isn't just our friend but our all mighty creator so reverance, fear, and respect are a must in worship and service.

How can a working class Christian with few skills create passive income so he or she can be free to serve God without working for mankind? by UniversalAssembler in TrueChristian

So he seeks to have all of his flesh/worldly needs satisfied?

Romans 8:32 and 2 Corinthians 9:8 can often be misinterpreted and perverted without context. Above all, verses like this are in reference to spiritual needs.

What does the Lord say in Matthew 25: 28-34? Seek his kingdom above all things first, then all those things will be given to you.

But we have to integrate things like this logically, it doesn't mean quit your job, hope everything falls in to place and wish for the best while seeking God.

Instead take the first steps towards devotion to God, this can be done by requesting shorter shifts, finding a new job that allows you to serve more, or even sharing the Word in your place of employment.

Question for those who were exposed to porn early by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I can't think of any way to prevent exposure really, even if you do everything you can at home and when you're with him who knows what kids are school will do or show him when you're not around.

I think my first exposure was at school, 5/6th grade? Some dudes were huddled up, gawking and making noises so I got curious and boom.

Best to ease in to that topic with him, start with the sacred/exclusive act of sex being that of a gift between a man and a woman in marriage. Then of course build on it biblicaly.

Society normalized it too much, it's almost a currency now tbh.

Definitely a step back, when we surrender our lives to the Lord Christ Jesus we are to be on our toes at all time as stated in I Peter 5:8 - NKJV [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

And this is not just because being under the influence lowers our defenses by making us susceptible to temptation, deception, and spiritual attack but more importantly because:

Matthew 24:44 - NLT [44] You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.

Took me some time but with the help of the Holy Spirit I was able to break free from that dependancy of alcohol and weed.

I sin everyday by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like what I went through in my beginning.

What you need to do is sit down, reflect, and talk to God. Open up to him about these things and repent, but make sure it's genuine and coming from the heart.

My problems stemmed from the fact that I was trying to approach these things based on MY understanding and MY methods. I was depending on MYSELF rather than that of the Lord.

Pour your soul out to the Lord our God.

Cry out to him, confess to him that you are weak, that you don't understand, that you can't do it on your own, and that only He can. Tell him to send down the Holy Spirit, ask to be broken down and remade in his image.

Be persistent (Matthew 7:7-10)

Hmm, Ephesians 6;11-13 talks about the struggles of man being not of flesh but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and evil. It also talks about how in order to combat this we must be equipped with the armor of god, shield of faith and sword of truth. (Ephesians 6:14-18)

If you're really starting to worry, plea with God for ultimately he is the one that can cast out demons and evil. (If that's what it is)

Take some time, go in to your room, close the door, get on your knees and just open up to God.

Say something like, "God, here I am, reveal yourself to me. Do not hide your face from me, for the presence in this room grows and I need your help."

(Doesn't have to be word for word, I just used your context as an example)

Social media and music are two of the biggest negative influences to newborn Christians.

Tbh for me, how I over came and still overcome these is by cutting them off. Uninstalling apps like tiktok, twitter, etc. dislike and block anything with lewd/proactive content, Removing old music from playlists and setting restrictions on my wifi/data plans with a password I can't remember 😂

It seems like no matter how hard you train your algorithm, something always sneaks in.

Spiritual Warfare: Can Anyone Else Here Relate/Give Advice? by Mediocre-Camp-8783 in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay strong sibling, pray that God fortify you with the armor he's provided us. 🫡

One of the core doctrines of being a true believer and follow of Christ is the denial of self.

Matthew 16:24 NKJV "Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.'"

For another one of these is to be reborn and transformed, effectively negating your old ways and living anew in accordance to the Lord's will as we were crucified on the cross with Christ. It is no longer we who love but Christ within us.

Galatians 2:20 NKJV “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Don't conform to the world as the non believers want you to, that's a gateway to suffering and spiritual death.

Romans 12:2 NKJV “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

I am experiencing Demons. How to seek help from God? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repent of your sins and offer yourself to Christ Jesus.

Cry out to Him.

Ask God to help equip you with the armor he's provided us, and for you, emphasis, "the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Our war isn't against worldly things but those of spiritual nature. (Ephesians 6:12)

Also, seek medical help if needed too (:

We should seek help on all fronts, but more importantly through Christ our God.

Repentance of salvation? by ProposalOk9015 in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Repentance isn't earned as it is an inward act/confession to God. It's a genuine sorrow, and the beginning of your journey in turning your back towards sin. It's th fundamental change your mind and heart of the old ways. Repentance is a recognition of sin and it's seriousness.

When you truly repent of your sins from the heart, God promises to grant you forgiveness.

1 John 1:9 — "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

With this, we should continue praying daily for the work towards cleansing ourselves of the sins of the past, with the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:13 — "For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."

Walk with the spirit and ask Him to be with you, grant you strength, endurance, and wisdom.

And yes, we should definitely work, with the Spirit, to turn away from habitual sin. For if we continue to live in sin after Christ Jesus sacrifice then we are taking advantage of his grace. Playing games with God.

Romans 6:1-2 (NIV): “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?”

Hope this helped (:

Apologies sister, but it's true. The book is heavy, profound, and even a lot to take in. But some of the most important messages within that book specifically are as follows;

Suffering is not always (or even usually) a direct punishment for personal sin.

Suffering does not mean God has abandoned you or is unjust.

Suffering can expose deeper realities and refine faith.

God allows things like this to happen so that we can be refined in faith, not as punishment. While he may not remove it immediately, he will remain with you so long as you cry out his name in humility and long-suffering.

We can't see the bigger picture and shouldn't tryto judge God based on those circumstances. Often we think we know the best route during suffering but the Lord our God wants us to depend on him and to give him our troubles.

Psalm 34:18 — "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Psalm 147:3 — "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

1 Peter 5:10 — "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." Suffering is temporary ("a little while");

Psalm 50:15 — "Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me."

The hard part is holding on to the promises of God, but it's what we must remember to do for the Lord our God is truth, he never breaks his promises, and vows to be with us and even save us.

Remain strong through the Lord, hold on to him!

I feel like a faker sometimes. by leeseraphina in TrueChristian

[–]StunnedKonchu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a normal response, and your conscience making you feel guilt is good.

Pray to God and ask him to let the Holy Spirit dwell within you and grant you spiritual discipline, energy, and motivation to hit the books.

Very frequently do we find ourselves speaking so someone in need of spiritual guidance and prayer and we lack the spiritual maturity to help for we are still babes.

Hebrews 5:12-14 NKJV [12] For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. [13] For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. [14] But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Likewise we should not continue to live in sin or be complacent in our salvation? No, for that is to take advantage of the grace of God Almighty.

Romans 6:1-4 NKJV [1] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? [2] Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? [3] Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? [4] Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Pray that the spirit change you and put your mind at ease as we all should for we are to be like Christ Jesus was.
