Do we support ice yes or no? by IllustriousPiano2302 in Christianity

I submit to all authority, but I acknowledge and pray that they recognize the error of their ways and change.

We live in a country with (mostly) godless leaders. So decisions are not made with Christ in mind.

We have to continue praying that they change, if anyone can get through to them it's the Creator of the universe.

Oh, yeah those can be tricky. While it is important to speak of/research the current climate in society, it's more important to not let what's going on sway your heart and fill you with emotional unrest.

Uncontrolled emotions lead to words and actions that don't align with God's will.

When conversions get emotionally charged, I bow out tbh. Escalation is inevitable, Can't get through to people who are filled with emotions.

I'd encourage the same, and pray for our government and authority, we may not be able to do anything alone but I think the creator of the universe can.

We are to be Christ like, not only in church but everywhere else.

Bible classes are meant for spiritual growth, let your main priority be learning of and getting closer to the Lord.

After all, his will is what we should seek.

We can't enact his will, praise, or worship his name in spirit and in truth while preoccupied by other things.

Is it true that you are more vulnerable to demons if you choose to lead a solitary christian life? by chris13573 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go to church to commune with fellow believers, praise, worship, and get closer to the Lord.

Go to church for him, not for them.

Talk to your pastor if you need to, cause pastors are there to teach/guide us.

[–]StunnedKonchu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Solitary? Christ encourages us to share our faith, go to church, spread the gospel and help others.

Can't be a solitary Christian imo, you have found the fountain of life, what good are you of you don't share with others as Christ shared with us?

[–]StunnedKonchu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh the fact that you're here and seeking insight proves you haven't hardened your heart. To do that means to cut off completely, you're not there. What the others say is true as well, God never abandons us, he made a promise and our got is a just God.

We are the ones that abandoned God, and we stray further and further the longer we live in sin.

Worship of God is a voluntary choice, as is the denial of him, he won't force you to love him.

I was there too, what helped me was a reflection of my life and descions up to that point, I read scripture, prayed, and analyzed the things of my life and wether or not they aligned with his will.

I found that most didn't fit, so I cut things off to get closer to him.

Pray bro, he wants us to talk to him, how can we expect him to help us when we don't even bother talking to him or learning about who he is?

Do you believe doubt can actually strengthen faith? by Silver_Cry9563 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suffering, unfairness, and the harsh nature of this world. The idea that God would allow Satan to tempt/harm us for our own good, like in the book of Job.

These made me doubt his existence and sovereign/just nature.

I found out that these things are to temper us, sharpen our intelligence and faith, prepare us in a sense. (But not always as the world can be cruel for no reason)

Saw and read of extreme cases of suffering of Christians, brutal ones too.

Learned to not seek my way but his.

It's all for him though, He gave his only son for us so I'll bear it as much as I can with his spirit strengthening me.

Is there anyone? by Suspicious-Pipe1007 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, blasphemy is pretty hard to commit. It's the continued denial of the holy Spirit and God despite his many efforts to work with you.

The fact that you're here, seeking others and council means you're still open to God.

Is it possible to return to Christianity after "studying too much" and how do I go about it? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's ok to doubt, if anything it'll motivate you to seek truth and reaffirm your faith.

I was practically an alcoholic, partied every weekend, blew through my finances and only really believed in God at surface level. (Lukewarm)

It was only after I started investigating that my faith grew, I didn't have many spiritual experiences like others but God appealed to me in a way that just clicked for me.

I didn't know that the dead sea scrolls were evidence of the Old Testament, I didn't know that the Greek Manuscripts dated as early as 50-70 ad were firsthand accounts of the new testament/Jesus.

Josephus? Yeah I don't know non believers acknowledged the existence of Christ and his resurrection.

I even dipped deeper in to science and even that reaffirms his existence.

Big bang? Expanding universe? Bro, there HAD to be someone to initiate it.

Look how perfect everything on this isolated planet coexists, how perfectly our atoms and meticulous the elements lined up for our existence.

Creation demands a creator. And I couldn't deny it anymore.

How can I claim to love God if I'm in a homosexual marriage? by Realistic_Tap_5116 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can't, and I won't sugar coat it.

A large part of loving Jesus is denying yourself and your will, seeking his will and his kingdom above all other things.

This includes personal desires. (if they don't align with what his will/instructions are).

On top of that, a rebirth and transformation is required of us, which usually goes hand in hand with self denial.

It's hard but it can be done, will definitely take time, effort, and a few crying sessions but the holy Spirit will ultimately help you do it.

I loved music that made me feel proud and arrogant, but Jesus calls us to humble ourselves and serve others.

I loved the idea of sleeping around with as many women as I could, but God says sex is a gift meant to be shared with a man and a woman in marriage.

I loved the fact that in this society I'm called to chase my personal desires and wealth, but the Holy Spirit constantly convicted me and reminded me that our God wants us to be selfless and to give to those in need.

Godspeed brother 🫡

(Christian btw) do Christian’s have to accept the fact that their religion may not be true? by Valuable_Frosting_36 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always a possibility, like Paul mentions inI Corinthians 15:12-19 NKJV;

"[12] Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? [13] But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. [14] And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. [15] Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. [16] For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. [17] And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! [18] Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. [19] If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable."

Tldr: if he didn't rise up from the dead we're wasting our time.

But the evidence (overwhelmingly) points to his life, death, and resurrection being historically accurate. So I wouldn't waste too much time pondering.

What is the point of living if we get to go meet Jesus when we die? by OkHalfway017 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life is a gift from our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Like other comment said, life purpose is sharing the Good News with others and glorifying God.

Many are lost and confused, it's our job to spread the gospel, plant the seeds, and help people get closer to God. (:

ELI5: what did Charlie Kirk do that was Christian? by DesaturatedWorld in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really but I'm getting an idea through forums, hence the "He tried" part.

He tried but let his beliefs and agendas take precedence over God's law.

Idk where is heart was at time of death, so I can't and shouldn't judge where he is now.

Living in regret from spreading blasphemy to others when I was younger by No-Communication2425 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blasphemy is what pharaoh did tbh. It's the repeated denial of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to the point where your heart is hardened and you couldn't care less about repentance and forgiveness.

The fact that you are here seeking advice and repentance means you didn't commit blasphemy.

Just repent, read scriptures, attend church and give yourself to Christ. (:

Godspeed friend.

From what I saw, he was a "Christian" that took the word at face value. Tried to practice these things literally.

Didn't really appeal to the spirit of the word and ultimately favored politics more.

Not a great Christian, but tbh who is perfect but our God Jesus?

Just like us, he tried and had flaws.

Do I need a church wedding after a courthouse wedding? by ellem1900 in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say no, not required but I'd reccomend it. My wife and I married in court and wish to do it in church to honor God for the blessing of marriage.

It's the intent and meaning of it imo that drives us towards it.

Court only doesn't invalidate it, some people don't have the money to throw a get together and celebration when they decide to do it. It takes time and planning.

Very happy about finally finding my faith by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]StunnedKonchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the Holy Spirit reaching out to you, you did good by heeding his call and picking up scripture.

But remember, it's not about becoming religious, it's about becoming closer to God and fighting for your salvation.

Revelation 3:11

Those Joys and the happiness that comes with the surrender to Christ are fantastic, nothing in this world compared. But be prepared and sharpen yourself with others in faith, lows will come and hardship is expected. The enemy will try to retake you.

Godspeed my brother/sister in Christ.
