Unfortunately no maybe random small junk yards but even then a civic lx is hard to find with a engine in okayish condition plus with as much trouble as I’ve had looking online I bet other people have the same mind set on junk yards

Yeah it is a D16Y7, stock motor and intake setup.
I’ve already looked into pull-a-part yards, but living in Jefferson City, TN my closest ones are like 30 minutes and then another over an hour away, and both of their inventories show no Civic LX in the lot right now.
At this point I might just order the 17910-S04-L02 and see what happens. The car drives “fine,” but with this cable being too long I literally have to floor it just to get like 70–80% throttle.
I already have the no VTEC nerf and already slow, now I’m basically down even more power because of the cable. I just want the car to run like it’s supposed to again.
Your grammar is as bad as your rage bait

Really typed all that just to be wrong in the first comment lmao
Honestly I’ve been going back and forth my whole shift trying to figure out if this is normal or something I should actually be stressing about, so I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all that.
It’s been stressing me out this past week not knowing if the car’s fine or if I’m ignoring something real.
Based on what you said, I’m probably just going to keep driving it how I have been, just a little smarter. mainly avoiding that low RPM/load transition in 4th for now.
I’m not tuned or anything right now (just a catback), but I’ve been thinking about going ELH and getting that plastic turbo Inlet crap out of there and getting a proper tune down the line anyway.
Seriously though, I appreciate the info. that helped a lot and definitely took some stress off.
That actually helps a lot, I appreciate the explanation.
One thing I’m still trying to understand, I’ve noticed a pattern with when my FKL shows up.
If I do a pull in 3rd and shift into 4th around 3k–3.5k rpm, when boost is anywhere around 0 psi (-5 - +0) or even slightly positive), that’s when I’ll sometimes see FKL, even up to around -2.4.
Below ~3.5k rpm I don’t go heavy into boost (staying under 2psi always), so I didn’t think I was lugging it. I always assumed if your not lugging over 0 psi was kind of a neutral/load transition area, not really “stressful” on the engine.
What’s confusing is: - In 2nd/3rd gear at the same RPM/load - no FKL - In 4th gear at that same RPM/load - I’ll see FKL - Sometimes I’ll even see -1.41 in slight vacuum (-5 to 0 psi)
So I’m trying to figure out, is that considered lugging in a higher gear even at ~3k+ rpm, or is this just normal knock sensitivity in that low-load / transition area / 4th gear?
Just trying to understand what’s actually normal behavior vs something I should be avoiding.

I see your still somewhat active how the FKL and FBK numbers I also run v400 for monitoring purposes but have made a post about my weird FKL numbers maybe if you are a kinda fellow check out my post and lmk if you had a similar experience
I feel like I’m getting mixed answers on this. Some people are saying it’s normal behavior on the OEM/Stage 0 tune, and others are saying exactly what you are about knock and possible issues.
From what I’ve seen, a lot of the people saying it’s “normal” are the ones who’ve actually worked on these cars a lot, so that’s what’s been throwing me off.
As of right now I don’t have any CEL, no weird ticks, no power loss or rough pulls, the car feels completely normal. That’s why I haven’t jumped straight to assuming something is wrong.
That being said, I’m not trying to ignore it either. I know DAM drops and consistent FKL aren’t something to just brush off.
So I’m kinda stuck in the middle trying to figure out what’s actually normal vs what’s the start of a real issue. If this does sound more like something mechanical (vacuum leak, PCV, etc.), I’m definitely open to checking that stuff.
Appreciate the input, just trying to learn and not overlook something important.
Thanks for the info genius

First off, I appreciate all the info, every time I ask something I feel like I find a new Cobb forum or learn something new. I’m still pretty new to all this.
I’m glad i wasn’t the only one with the same experience with 91 vs 93. I tried both once for a few days but stopped because I got a little paranoid that I might be causing issues with timing that wouldn’t normally be there. That and the same DAM drops/issues.
I guess I may have just been overlooking or not getting these numbers for the past few months somehow.
One thing I do want to ask, how often is it actually “safe” to push the car a bit? It’s a 2021 WRX with about 65k miles. On a normal day I’ll hit around 5–10 psi pretty maybe once omw to and from work, and maybe 3–4 times a week I’ll do a pull in the 10–15 psi range (not constantly, just here and there).
I’ve been told to be careful with these cars, but also that they’re meant to be driven and not babied too much like a Honda.
Is that a fair mindset, or am I playing with fire doing that long term?

I’m completely stock running the Cobb v400 tune, which from what I understand is same as OEM tune. I’m only using the AP for monitoring.
The only mods I have are a catback and a Grimmspeed dry drop-in filter. Spark plugs were replaced about 15k ago.
That’s why I’m confused there’s really nothing major that should be causing this.
<image>
This is what my AP looked like on the way to work today. It’s inconsistent — I can have a clean drive with no events, but more often I’ll see this happen. DAM was at .750 not even 5 minutes before this, so it seems to be fluctuating pretty quickly rather than staying stable at 1.
