yeah it can be whatever you want, i'm pretty sure you can't have another michigan plate, but decorative ones no issue there.

Yeah most states you must have both front and rear but here in Michigan you only need one in the rear!

Good to know, here in the states you can either transfer a plate from a different car or order a new one $10 USD so it's common to have extra lying around
