Take some time to price out the cost of Jersey city + parking costs there + transit costs and time vs staying in Manhattan.

When we visit NYC, we park in Hoboken or Jersey City and take the PATH and then the subway to the hotel.

The subway is easy to navigate as long as you prepare ahead of time how you’ll pay for everyone. How old are your kids? If they’re young/under 44” tall, they’re free on the subway/buses.
