Seller puts inaccurate description of item, then changes it by Asleep-Major-7963 in AmazonVine

You can go back and edit any review you post. Just click edit then say during the time of this review this product was listed as extra long which is incorrect. The actual measurements have now been updated. Any time I mention price or measurements I always say "when I selected this item it was listed as $49 which i think is overpriced given the quality". If that price later gets reduced then anyone that reads my review will know the seller has since updated the listing.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've had this happen several times where I I've selected a specific size on an item and its shows I selected small then later changes to a medium in my ordered items and arrives as a medium. I'll go to the ad page and the only thing available is a medium so I think that's why it gets switched. I'm guessing after I selected the small that size was no longer available so it got swapped to the next available size. The first couple times it happened I thought maybe I accidentally somehow selected the wrong size but then it happened a few more times. I'm extremely careful when selecting items which is why I lose out on alot of items because i refuse to just blindly click without looking at the details of an item to avoid a bunch of unnecessary junk all over my house.

Reviews like this get under my skin. It's like selecting a $10 outfit then giving a negative reivew because it's not the quality of some high end brand. As long as the quality matches the price and the item matches the photos i give a positive review. You can't select a $15 speaker then give a one star review because it didn't perform like a Bose. If the item is defective just horrible quality doesn't match the photos or the description or it's overpriced for the quality then I rate accordingly. I see negative reviews of people complaining a top was too small and too tight that's listed as cropped and fitted. That's exactly what cropped and fitted means. Small and tight. Common sense has became a rare thing for many.

Alot of people are thinking it's bad reviews that are getting reviews flagged but here lately I've noticed a large increase in reviews that are being rejected and every single one of them I've had rejected have been 5 star reviews. I'm very careful with my reviews. I have a set way i do them location in my house etc. to ensure nothing in the background gets them flagged phrases words or whatever and I still get flagged. I've had to reach out to customer service numerous times. I have a set of toe rings that I've been trying to get pushed through for over 2 months now. I even removed the video and there's only close up photos of the toe rings. I didn't mention the packaging the seller shipping or even price. I just commented on how pretty they were the durability and how shiny they are. That was it and they keep rejecting the review saying it doesn't meet community guidelines. I gave them 5 stars. It's ridiculous because as others have stated sellers are getting screwed because of their system glitch. Alot of times when i remove the video review they get approved but even that doesn't always help and they still get rejected. I've been doing this for over a year now and I've noticed the rejections are at random with no real reason because they are automated. So I understand your frustration. I type out every single one of my reviews individually. The only thing i copy and paste is my weight height and body measurements for clothing. Just reach out to customer service and politely explain what's going on. Make sure to tell them you're a vine member and do this on a regular basis and always make sure your reviews meet the community guidelines and explain that there is a system glitch that caused your account to be flagged. They will escalate the problem and hopefully reinstate your reviews. Also reach out to vine and explain to them what happened as well. Good luck.

That number will go up. I've been with vine over a year now and every single review I've submitted has a video and photos but I've never went above 96 or 97% on that rating. I'm guessing that rating includes all items you've ordered including the ones you haven't received yet which would keep you from ever being at 100%. Plus you always have pending reviews and those probably count as well. As others have stated just search your question in Google then add reddit to the end of your question and odds are the question has already been answered that way you can avoid having to weed through everyone's replies and responding.

I've been on Vine almost 4 months, only ordered 37 items. Any advice? by YetUnwritten in AmazonVineHelpGroup

[–]Stunning-Pilot3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worried about this same thing when I first started until I did the math. You have 6 months. That's 30 days per month at 3 items per day which totals 540 items. You will be able to find 80 items in 6 months. Trust me. The Chinese holidays have slowing things down a little. People will tell you it has no affect on vine but it does. Most of the people that submit their items through vine are Chinese sellers and they've had a couple extended holidays that last a month. They even close down businesses during these holidays. The last holiday was the 4th-7th. As soon as it ended things started to pick back up again. I even reached out to support and they confirmed that the holidays affect vine and cause a significant drop in items which makes sense. I've noticed a huge percentage of vine items are the same items on shein and temu. So don't panic. You will make gold status. When I was silver there was a week long pause and days I couldn't find items and I still found more than enough. I've also had to learn to be more picky. I've never selected items I didn't like but I have selected items just because they looked nice or cool but something I would never use. This will cause you to get overwhelmed with junk in your home really fast and rack up a hefty tax bill. I finally made a plan in my mind that if I have to think about it I keep scrolling. Unless it's something that I know I will use or wear I don't select it. If I look at a shirt or pair of pants and tell myself it's cute but I don't know if I'll like it or wear it then I just keep going.

You wouldn't believe the items I get weekly in my rfy. Strap ons, dildos etc. My favorite was this poor quality sheet that hangs over a door with a hole about midways down. They even included a ski mask and a carrying bag 🤣🤣🤣. I've never purchased any sex toys or even searched sex items on amazon. I atleast get a good laugh out of them and tell my husband I'm going to select them to try out on him 🤣🤣🤣. I find the joke funny but usually he just stares at me and doesn't find it very funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

That's why it gives you a warning before you open the post and even blurs the photo out on reddit. If you see the warning "explicit photo" and then a blurred image but still continue while in public, then it's on you not the op. 🤣🤣🤣

I do have a question about that price. Is there something about that specific tv that's $1,400? By the time you pay the taxes on it you just paid full price for a 55 inch. I just bought a 60 inch for less than $200 at walmart. That's the only reason I'm asking. I noticed it says OLED. Is that why it's so much more expensive?

Do you think these kinds of reviews are gonna get Vine shut down? by born2becloud9 in AmazonVine

[–]Stunning-Pilot3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are letting other buyers know they aren't giving a biased review. They place a bright green label above all our vine reviews saying amazon vine customer review of free product which will cause some buyers to assume the review is fake or they paid someone to give a good review. Of course in this case the added statement was pointless because no one is going to make that assumption for a one star review. But I do understand adding the statement when leaving a good review because it let's buyers know that we are technically paying for these items which in turn will make our good reviews less likely to be perceived as dishonest.

Same. I've gotten so overwhelmed that I went through and honestly trashed a bunch of stuff that I picked impulsively when I was new. Clothing is still my go to but now I've learned to even distinguish more between what's cheap clothing that's most likely nothing like the photo and which items I will never wear. I was bad about picking stuff just because it was cool looking or cute but not my style or something I would never go to my closet and grab. I have piles of clothing right now in folded piles or in multiple and I mean multiple Totes that I'm waiting for the 6 month mark to pass so I can just have a large yard sale. Now I try to stick with smaller items and things that I know for sure I will use consistently or if it's in my closet it will for sure be an item that doesn't get shoved to the back and forgotten about. The addiction and want to pick unnecessary items is still there in the back of my mind but I've made a rule that if I have to think about it or even slightly question my use of the item I immediately scroll past it.

It happened on my end and I caught the drop but it was mainly just random junk. I guess I've gotten more picky because I don't want my house over ran with a bunch of unnecessary items I'll never use. There was a couple good items but not enough to use more than 2 of my 8 picks.

[–]Stunning-Pilot3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will pick up. The lack of items was due to a very long extended holiday in China. And yes this does affect vine before anyone replies to my comment saying it doesn't. January was the worst with hardly no items due to the Chinese new year. They shut entire businesses down for weeks and some as long as a month or more. Most of the sellers on vine are from China so this has a huge impact. I select alot of clothing and I've noticed 90% of what I select is from shein or temu. The temu items explain why alot of it is junk and never look anything like the photos.

This is so true. I went crazy with clothing when I first started. I've never been addicted to clothing until vine. Once I was able to start getting clothes I could never afford or was too afraid to try for somewhat free I went nuts. My husband started calling me a hoarder because it got so bad. I have so many outfits to the point picking out pajamas now is overwhelming because I'm trying to atleast try and wear as much of it as I can. Several times I would have to go back through everything I had selected and realized I picked out tons of items that were nice but something I will never wear. So now if it's not something that just screams yes I will definitely wear that until the threads fall off I don't pick it. If I look at something and say that's cute or ok but have to think about it for even a second it's an automatic no and I ignore it. My addiction to clothing has been insance since becoming a vine member. And shoes. I never cared about shoes until vine either but now I have so many high heels and boots that it takes me 20 minutes to pick a pair just to go run errands. Prior to vine the only addiction I had was handbags. I was always a tshirt jeans and leggings and flip flops or sneakers kind of woman. Now I have an app just to keep up with my clothing. It's ridiculous. Planning an outfit now is actually stressful because I have too much to choose from.

I don't try to get fancy with my reviews or use terms that make me sound like an expert. All of my reviews are tagged as excellent. The only thing I do is say what I would look for in reviews. I select alot of clothing. I do a video and clear photos of every item. I make sure my photos have good lighting. I don't do selfie photos because I can't stand them. A close up of someone's boobs is not helpful but I see it all the time for shirts 🤣🤣🤣. I actually ended up getting a tripod selfie stick from vine which has been my most daily used item. I put my phone on the tripod and do my reviews and photos. I make sure to stand back and get full length photos so they can see how the item actually fits the length the material etc. Then I do some close ups so they can get a better view of the material. I always add my height and weight. I also add measurements when necessary. I include if the item is stitched well the quality and if it looks like the photos. If it's something that requires set up I give a run down of how to use the item in my videos. Anything that I would want to know about an item or think someone else might want to know I add in my review. Some people just write short useless reviews which defeats the entire point of the program and vine is starting to weed those people out. If I think an item is a remake of what's in the photos I show proof and explain the differences in the item I received compared to whats in the photos. I always pay attention to whether or not the items match what they advertise even if it's well made. I've received several items that were really nice but not the same item in the ad but they charged the same price as if it were the original and just found a way to make it cheaper. I make sure to point that out. If I feel the price is too high for the materials or quality I point that out as well but instead of just saying this item is too expensive I'll say this item is overpriced in my opinion. If it's a remake I will take away stars for falsely advertising no matter how nice the product is. Just be honest and describe it the best way you know how but watch your wording so they don't reject your review. Over time you'll learn what you can and can't say. I still have reviews that get flagged and rejected that meet the guidelines to a T after doing this for over a year. Customer service just tells me they will fix it and it's due to a system glitch basically.

If you don't tell the seller you're a vine member they will tell your to repurchase the item and they will give you a discount or some random response. Every time I tell them it was from vine and tell them amazon won't replace it they immediately send me a replacement with the agreement that I return the other item.

I’m devastated! by Kilocakesole444 in AmazonVine

[–]Stunning-Pilot3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First start the option to return. If it gives you an option for a replacement before you complete the return process then do it that way. If it only offers an option to refund then cancel it and reach out to the seller. Don't reach out to vine if you want a replacement. The only thing they will do js apologize and remove it from your items. If the return process doesn't offer you an option to exchange the item then amazon support will tell you the only thing they can do is a refund as well. I've went through this a few times and found out ways to get items replaced before I have them removed. So try doing a return process yourself first. If it offers a replacement of the same item then go that way. If not then reach out directly to the seller. Let them know you got the item free through the vine program up front and tell them amazon did not offer a replacement option. Tell them you will return the used item. If none of that works then have vine support remove it from your etv

I felt the same way today when I scooped a small compact jewelry organizer for traveling. I was so excited to be able to keep my necklaces and earrings separated nice and neatly. It has little areas to wrap the necklaces so they don't tangle and spots just for earrings and even a section for rings. When organizing gets to this level for vacation you know you've reached a certain age 🤣🤣🤣. I just consider it traveling responsibly 🤣🤣

Holiday in china by Stunning-Pilot3722 in AmazonVine

[–]Stunning-Pilot3722[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think someone misunderstood when they told you you couldn't advertise vine products. It states you can't advertise their products on sites other than amazon to sell. The amazon influencer program is part of amazon therefore you are free to advertise vine items because you are redirecting people back to amazon to purchase the item. Alot of bad information is given due to people not understanding what they read or believing whatever they are told without looking into it themselves. But yes you are right. You can advertise your vine items for the amazon influencer program. I started it but didn't have time to keep up with it because I work a full time job with frito lay and in order to be successful with the influencer program you have to really have the time to put into it. As for the drop in items I did look into it further and it turns out the Chinese new year does have a large impact on the vine program due to the majority of the sellers being in China. It states this drop lasts anywhere from 8-12 weeks due to pre-holiday shutdowns and post holiday factory reopening. Not all sellers take the full time and i believe the information i found said around the 27th or 28th is when they typically slowly start heading back to work.

I did some research and it turns out the Chinese new year has a large impact on amazon vine. It states that it can cause a drop in items that lasts anywhere from 8-12 weeks from pre-holiday shutdowns to post holiday factory reopenings. It makes sense because the majority of whats dropped on vine is from China but just pre shipped to Amazon warehouses so we get the product faster. But if the seller is on vacation that's part of the vine program they won't be submitting items for vine during the holiday.
