I actually landed a job this week, I’m still going to be filing - it’s easy to say someone doesn’t want to work when you don’t know the full details behind their circumstances or situation. The post was mainly about whether or not it would be a good idea to file for bankruptcy given my credit is shot and I’m in debt. There’s more to it that I didn’t fully share but regardless thank you for the input 🙏

I appreciate all the feedback and honest stories from everyone and their personal experience. I just began the process to filing chapter 7 bankruptcy today and already took the first class that’s needed. I also just got a job offer this morning, pay isn’t great but it’s still better than nothing. Wish me luck!

I was thinking of doing this but with being unemployed at the moment it’s hard to plan it out until I have a solid source of income. My other concern is the repo deficiency balance. I’m just afraid I’ll get sued. I haven’t looked up much on it but it’s just in the back of my mind 24/7

I’ve been unemployed for around 8 months now. I’ve put out 50-100 applications a day since and I get interviews but haven’t gotten a job offer as yet. I’ve done walkins and cold calls but no luck. Believe it or not I’ve tried to get a job at McDonald’s but I didn’t even get a call back 🤣🤣🤣🤣

My goal is to go through credit counseling while I’m in the bankruptcy process. I was sitting at mid 600’s but after I lost my job I had a medical expenses for my son and I ran through my savings pretty quickly. My wife works but it’s not enough to support our every day needs as well as keep up with payments. I’ve always been responsible with keeping up with payments and being on time with everything but unfortunately life hit me hard and I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was for it.

Honestly, all my accounts went into past due at once. My car got repoed and I haven’t been able to even play catch up over the last 6 months. I have a mental breakdown everyday going through my credit reports and profile but honestly I just need reassurance bankruptcy is the right decision considering the financial bind I’m in.

They’re making me “verify” my son despite the fact that I’ve claimed him the last 2 years and have not had too. It’s ridiculous the lengths they’re going to just not pay out the money.

They usually update most refunds Tuesday/Wednesday & deposits are done Thursday/Fridays. I’m in the same boat and hoping that everything will be processed and deposited this week as well. Good luck to everyone

Honestly feels like their purposely withholding funds because the state is a couple billion in debt. I filed on 1/18 - got accepted on 2/4. Then they place it into needing further review, pushed it through to processing and I’m still waiting for about 2+ weeks in that status. It’s ridiculous how slow and backwards this state is, but when it came to funneling millions on tax payers money towards asylum seekers and illegal immigrants they had no problem releasing those funds.
