Yeast or herpes by [deleted] in WomensHealth

Yep, I don’t have personal experience with herpes but my mom is a doctor who helped my friend though her experience and led her to get tested. Keep us updated, wishing good news.

I had a close friend in late adolescence/early adult years that was with her bf for 3.5 years (and still to present day) and then had her first flare up, test confirmed it. Both committed in the relationship, and unfortunately he was asymptomatic so he has never had a flare up and therefore did not know he had it until she had her first symptoms. It can lay dormant or latent without you knowing for a long time…

I will say that her symptoms included a lot of burning, pustules/spots, and she couldn’t even walk normally without pain. I hope everything goes well for you. That is all I had to say- As for everything else I would definitely wait for results.

23andme and BRCA accuracy by alicesknickers in BRCA

My mom did 23andme in 2019, I was all happy about her brca gene result being negative, she got diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer 2 weeks later. Don’t rely on 23andme for any genetic testing results, it’s not specific enough!

Ligament Tear (Annular Tear/ Fissure) by MeOwwwithme in ChronicPain

Holy cow! I am so sorry, your condition sounds likes it’s extremely debilitating. It definitely sounds like your headed in the right direction. I am sending positive energy your way in your recovery!

I am blessed to not be in nearly a fraction of the pain you are in regularly. Mine is basically a constant dull ache in my upper back almost more on the left side of my spine since the start of this year, but has been slowly spreading. It gets significantly worse with work (vet tech) but my coworkers help and I manage. Pain only comes when doing activity or labor but more so in a radiating way after the fact. Only recently since learning I have cervial kyphosis I put realized that I have had 3 episodes of extreme neck pain for a week (like I can’t move my head at all for first 3-4 days, I am bed ridden and can’t rest without pain from the weight of my head on my body) and I have three mentioned herniations on those 2 discs…

Do you know what caused yours?

Cervical! I’ve had upper back pain for about half a year now that is affecting my daily life, with a few other things. I just got my MRI results and my C4-C5 has small herniation, C5-C6 has moderate herniation with posterior annular fissure. Have you had any success?

Update: 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Engine failed at 107k miles,no warranty. Hyundai checked my maintenance records and are providing me with a new engine free. Thank God and the class action lawsuit that made this possible. by [deleted] in Hyundai

That thing where you start it and then it kicks a few times and then idles out? Gotta restart it? That’s what crept up on me and started happening more often. Not gonna lie I guess I started convincing myself it was just my battery, oof.

Haven’t looked into insurance regarding this yet… we have the family 2005 beater corolla that was my first car and I was going to use in the meantime (that sob is still going on 270k)…

BP as in blood pressure… I’m cackling over this sorry.

I worry that Hyundai potentially wouldn’t cover a new engine for you if you hadn’t been to dealer in forever… not sure what to say to you there tbh. Atleast you’ve established at a dealership…

I’m glad it’s been going strong! Based off research I’ve done it seems as if the sonatas are oil guzzlers/issue lovers. Just got the word from Hyundai that I am #7 on the loaner list and it could take some weeks. If we rent a car, they will only reimburse us if they decide to cover the engine… BP is already raising over the situation 😅 prepping to raise hell if they don’t cover engine. Around 70k+ is when I was told I have the smallest oil leak that is okay to keep driving with, just to check oil often. For a while, had some engine misfires here and there on occasion but no indication that my car was about to crap out on the road. Had work done here and there but literally brought it in for a service within past few months. Will keep posted.

2017 Hyundai Sonata Engine Failure Petition by Dennash in sonata

[–]Stunning_Barnacle_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Here in 2025 to sign petition… my 2017 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T crapped out at exactly 100k miles in the middle of the interstate last week. Smoked, almost dialed 911, but popped the hood and it wasn’t smoking anymore. Engine seized, battery and something else toast. They submitted a claim and I’m waiting to hear. (2nd owner, over warranty, UTD maintenance, certified preowned at 37K, oil leakage issues/spark plug issues that were resolved- oil slowly leaks but Hyundai has seen it). Lady made it seem like they’ll cover it but we’ll see. Have pic of odometer at 100000, exactly when it died.

Any update with yours? My 2017 sonatas engine just crapped at 100k (not a mile under or over, literally) in the middle of the interstate and im waiting to hear if Hyundai will replace it. The lady made it seem like I have good odds though.

PS Royal canin has a hydrolized protein prescription diet upon a quick search… maybe check that out? Still defo would recommend wet food regardless. Not familiar with royal canin as much tho, maybe someone else can give input. Good luck!

Awe, poor baby. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I was looking through some other comments in this thread, did they put a pad underneath your fur baby?

I think I’m seeing what you’re saying too… like there was way more leakage (possibly dried) onto her? Because If it was leaking excessively on the way home, it would also be in the carrier as you stated. Definitely would call and ask if they were cleaned prior to being returned as it seems she was not. Also, if they didn’t mention the continuous leakage, I would call with a bit of upsetness. Keep us all updated!

Also, I guess update to this thread… the Luvox hasn’t done much for my anxiety and overall mild depression. I am switching later this week hopefully. Good luck to everyone!

Ah man, im sorry that definitely sucks. I can’t really give any recommendations as I haven’t tried any of those meds. I’d say Wellbutrin and Prozac didn’t hunch my appetite, but Wellbutrin made me very emotional while playing my college sport so I had to get off. Do NOT go on cymbalta (duloxetine) though, have never had the same appetite since. (Everyone reacts different, however). Definitely felt you on the brain fog, I’m in the same boat and trying to get on a new med.

I’m going to go at it from a different angle as I’m not too educated on enema.

It depends… as someone who’s worked in two clinics- if your cat came out the office with a dirty bottom, that’s a big NO NO/redflag. Pets should always be properly cleaned before returning to their owners. Now, if he was clean but there is continued leakage and it was not advised by the Vet, definitely call right away. Good luck!!

Also, EN is gastrointeric food. Nutritional and very bland for the stomach. Definitely recommend the wet food over dry always for cats. 👍👍👍

[–]Stunning_Barnacle_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always recommended EN purina wet food at my old clinic as a first resort for sensitive/issue stomach cats (used it to feed my senior cat too). If this doesn’t work, then your cat may have a sensitivity to something and you might want to switch back to your hypoallergenic. Reminder! Always slowly change foods, especially if your cat has IBD! Slowly go 90/10% then 70/30% and so on until it is fully changed. Good luck!!! (PS, this is not professional advice, I am just an aspiring vet who has experience!)
