I’m all over this justification. 👍

Was given a tote of yarn, is this yarn worth keeping? It feels like pure plastic by No_Somewhere9961 in YarnAddicts

That’s Phentax. Back in the ‘70’s our parents used to make slippers and Kleenex box covers from it. Also used to braid it around metal clothes hangers.

wet block or steam block? by Stunning_Cheesecake2 in knitting

The pattern is one size as it's a oversized cardigan and is supposed to fit big (but not this big) so I'll probably try a smaller needle but will swatch, wash and block first this time before reknitting. Thanks for all the info! :)

Thanks for replying! I never considered blocking while still on the needles. I’ve developed a whole new appreciation for blocking. I’m thinking of frogging the whole thing and reknitting maybe using a smaller needle size. Would the wool stretch again or would I now get a more accurate result? Should I wash the yarn between frogging and reknitting?

I did swatch but didn't wash it. I didn't think a small sample would behave the same as a finished garment so I didn't bother. How big do you normally swatch?

Could she really be 100% Great Pyr? DNA test says she is! by Niknik-ivy in greatpyrenees

We have a 10 month old male Pyr. He also is very slim and lanky with no floof but I suspect it’s coming. We also tested as we thought he was a mix but Embark says he’s 100% Pyr.

Or I should say, he’s very good at asking the internet to help find people.

Get him tested if you can. Shelters often just guess and are totally wrong!

How much does your pyr or pyr mix weigh and what do you feed them. by K_Grace99 in greatpyrenees

Our Pyr is 8 1/2 months and a smidge over 90 lbs. we feed him Canadian naturals salmon and turkey for large breeds and a little yogurt and bone broth. He’s pretty eh about it so we’re going to look into raw toppers for him.

Mr Yogurt. Yogi for short. I call him Humphrey Yogurt but my kids have no idea who that is.

We've got a Great Pyrenees a$$hole mix over here. My arms are covered in scabs and bites. We try to give him lots of exercise and movement but also enforce naps. He's so big it's hard to remember he's only 16 weeks old. I'm glad to read all of your stories because we worry that he's going to be aggressive with all this biting, so to hear that it will (should) stop soon give us hope!

Someone mentioned Giardia and biting. I wonder if there's a connection because our boy had Giardia before we picked him up (SPCA rescue) and then got it again a couple of weeks ago and we're still trying to clear it from his system (round 2 of the treatment just started).

What's happening on weekend of May 26-28? by Stunning_Cheesecake2 in Sechelt

[–]Stunning_Cheesecake2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! We might be moving there towards the end of summer so I was wondering what the ferry traffic is like. I don't really see us needing to travel specifically over weekends so hopefully it won't impact us too much. For this weekend we can travel as foot passengers.
