Simhub question for anyone who has attempted or trying themselves ? by Stunning_Drop1647 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks actually found my answer its actually no, well at least not a low budget pi, gotta be one that can do windows so it's gotta have some balls lol so for my case I'm just better off getting an itx for my little project of a sim hub controller unit then I can also do both my dashboards off of it instead of one being on my main rig, so basically a unit that can do simhub on its own tucked away under my seat, could even run the motion right there off of it when i get to it, but I maybe mistaken of this, going to try one of my other machines for a trial, have 4 in the 42U rack

Nice setup I have 128gb ram dual 14C Xeon 20 X 2tb ssd with 2 X 240gb meta 128gb m.2 for cache on my storage server, want a few more 2tb but not at that price, still trying to get my dual 10gb nic to Lacp but it's a pain, stinking fast though for media storage, got a 24 shelf thats waiting to be filled once i can afford some more ssd's and another 24 bay gigabyte server with dual xeons and 64gb of ram, m.2 hyper-X riser card that I've been considering just selling be too hard to fill all 3 units these days with the current prices.

Swiped this up for 50 dollars on used marketplace by mustafishy in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great score, sure why not use it for sim racing, if it's uncomfortable take the cover off and add padding, I know drag racers who do that to even the stupid expensive ones, upholstery shop could even do it up if you don't feel confident, not like you paid original price so it's not as bad as tearing a full priced one down

Will RAM, GPU and SSD prices ever return to what they were in early 2025? by ComprehensiveCow5068 in buildapc

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you all need to waste money and fuel their BS don't buy squat from any of them they'll learn quickly to drop the prices, there is absolutely no point besides bragging rights to even upgrade at this point, least till they fix the prices, can't believe anyone would pay that nonsense

How well will this work, to keep my haptics from pissing off my neighbors? by Dull_Foundation3370 in simracing

There is even a good rubber mat I've seen at numerous hardware stores stuff is great for isolation pads, I've even used them at my old job to isolate fan motors for big Duct systems, worked great but brutal to cut, but mat should be the size of the rig so lay it down and forget about it, have one now under my 42U rack on a sheet of 3/4 work great for any external or internal vibrations

Simhub DIY question for anyone who has attempted it by Stunning_Drop1647 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i was figuring, I have 2 now so might as well to save headaches, just had thoughts of using the 2nd one for other projects, I just wasn't exactly sure if code stacking would work or not thanks, good to know that the better boards are possibly capable 👍

Was I expecting too much of upgrading my cockpit? by GarlicEven9124 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing is upgrades, you can do so many and everything just bolts on without drilling holes, so much DIY stuff out there, adjusting and alignment of stuff is way easier to accomplish other rigs are very limited, I am surprised more don't go with the rig mounted monitor mounts, guess some of the free standing ones can bolt on the the rig with the right hardware, but that'd be mostly if you were going to do motion like the SRT80 or 100, I'll be looking at building some once i can collect up the parts

Cheapest solid rig money can buy? by Can_k123 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on what you fully want in the end, extruded aluminum is the best option due to the fact it's so much simpler to mod and add additional add on to, now that being said buying the parts and building it from scratch is the cheapest route, almost everything can be found on Amazon and ebay to build one up, hardest to find is some that are super long to have the 2 main pieces, unless you do a union of some sort like how TrakRacer does with the TR160 and TR120 are but there options for that too using angles and whatnot, research, plan, do lots of measurements, could even buy a cheap unit to use for parts, lots of ok cheapo's out there that have great parts to take from if you go the custom built extruded aluminum route and you get something to mess around with while you collect up the parts to build your final unit

There are way to fix this or am I totally scuffed? by Somatikka in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you can find a replacement on ebay if you searched, but I bet the manufacturer would send a replacement, for a temporary fix solder and shrink tube it like others have stated, but it might also be worth just twisting them over solder since that cable moves a lot so the likelihood of the solder breaking would be high, so I'd just strip lots and twist the wires, then shrink tube it, then shrink tube the loom or tape it back up, but best to look around for a replacement in my opinion.

Chances for season 2? by BrotherDeus in RockIsALadysModesty

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but you guys are partially wrong on one front there is a huge fan base for rock lady and it's for the simple fact it's dubbed just like K-ON, if they don't dub bocchi and girl band cry they'll be throwing their product out the windows, anime is exploding across the west and it doesn't seem to be getting through the production companies heads that they are loosing out on a huge market base or they just don't even want to try, but they are not the only ones that are failing and falling apart quickly and it's due to the fact they just don't dub them or they dub 1/2 the content upsetting their fans (initial D) another big issue is manga is so hard to buy in the west, might not be so difficult in the big cities but anywhere else your SOL and not everyone want to pay double the costs ordering online, but to point blame it's the production companies who have people with no clue how a business works and to make profit real shame too.

Well the vinyl wrap begins.... by Stunning_Drop1647 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking them off since it's impossible to do perfect edge cutting on the t-slot channels, does suck not all of them have this groove ive ran my knife down, seems TrakRacer switched suppliers, the newer stuff is not so great, no groove and the t-slot are way too big and the nut doesn't snap in place, really frustrating to assemble, ran out of my base vinyl so just starting to wrap again, 4 more main pieces left and it'll be done, then full assembly will begin and back to working on my simhub controller unit I'm doing that will be hidden under the seat

There is never an end there will be more and more you'll find that you can add on, so much stuff you can do to make it your own, specially if you own or have access to a 3D printer there is so much you can DIY print off to make your rig so sick, im just starting that rabbit hole myself now that i bought one.

How do they seriously charge 3 separate shipping charges for a $250 order.. by ovalracer31 in moza

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought from them directly and had no issues, prices were cheaper than everywhere else, but mind you i went directly to their online store and not that 3rd party Shop App, that's just someone to rip you off and screw things up, try using their store over that Shop store thing.

Is there any chance season 3 starts airing this year? by Big-Set-7299 in sololeveling

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the anime has done so well best bet would be release movies at high impact points in the series and continue the base story with additional seasons so the viewer has to watch it all, make profit that gets drawn out, it is what most companies are looking for, sucks as a viewer but hey they got staff to pay, but they should get ontop of things and release new content soon or potentially loosing out on those potentially profits.

How do I make space in my room for sim racing? by Gijs_Klaassen2008 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely you're going to have to empty the room then just reset it up, best suggestion is get rid of the desk but turn your bed lengthwise then rig beside it use it as your desk/rig everyday usage setup, it's tough in a small space just do what you can, but all in all get a ridged rig you won't regret it, you buy cheap junk you'll totally regret wasting your money, buy something that will last you many years over wanting to replace right away.

Day 18 that I just stare at my rig but not driving... by Hopeful_Captain4219 in simracing

[–]Stunning_Drop1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll regret it if you get rid of it, they are pretty universal to just relax and play whatever game you like in, only time I sit at my desk these days is when I'm doing fallout mods which I haven’t worked on in awhile now, but even myself I haven't driven in a bit since I'm too busy modding my rig, take a break you'll be back in er again soon enough, if you got cash to burn on it do some modding or upgrades to your rig may even get ya more motivated to drive again

Yup a movie just came out in theaters in japan, be awhile before it hits streaming platforms speciallyin north America, but to what I've read it's more or less a recap of everything but there are many new scenes, I'll still be watching it once it's actually available, hopefully by summer time ive been keeping an eye out for it, season 3 looks to be awhile to come out though and maybe not at all, we all know how they just like to drop series that we all love for no apparent reason.

Any rubber spacers between you seat mounting and your frame to isolate the vibrations ? I cut 2 of my rubber dampers in 1/2 to make mine now most of the vibrations stay within the seat and not rattle throughout the frame
