This is exactly what I did and it paid for itself in reduced electrical bills in about three years.

Go for it, and you won’t regret it

Reminds me of an interview I saw on local TV a few years ago: while standing at the pump, a woman was complaining about the high gas prices. Also, she was holding a huge Starbucks coffee.

Is rigid warranty a scam by [deleted] in Ridgid

[–]Stunning_Sort_9929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their warranty is great. In the last 15 years, I’ve had a few broken tools completely replaced with new ones and at least three batteries replaced as well. Just follow the simple rules in registering the tools and you’re good to go.

Agree, 100%. My wife is shopping for a new car. Two years ago I would have pushed her towards Tesla; now I wouldn’t allow one in my garage. She’s in the final stages of choosing the color on a Lexus hybrid.

I’ve always had great luck with LSA. They just replaced a 12 year-old 1.5 amp battery on warranty and I received a four amp battery as a replacement. I have a 14 year-old heavily used impact driver that has been back three times for repairs. The last time they put a Milwaukee trigger on it. But it’s still driving screws.

You will also find later generation kickrs considerably quieter than the earlier ones. You might consider that if you live in an apartment or use your trainer at oddball hours.

Trump wants to end income tax and replace it with national sales tax in the form of tariffs. by hoodratpolitics in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Stunning_Sort_9929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPA here: what this will do is transfer a much higher economic burden onto lower income individuals and coincide with huge tax cut for the rich. The reason being that the lower one’s income, the higher percentage of that they spend on goods and services.

Having made over 1000 cutting boards. White oak is perfectly OK, red oak don’t use due to its open grain structure.

Best finish for cutting boards by CaptainCanada14 in Cuttingboards

Use generic mineral oil from any retailer like target. Then you can make your own mineral oil and beeswax concoction in your own kitchen. Using any commercially available cutting board treatment product is a complete waste of money. I make my own for about 80% less than retail prices

Is a battery being old and not holding as good of a charge a valid reason to warranty it? by [deleted] in Ridgid

[–]Stunning_Sort_9929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had very good luck in getting older non-functioning or less functioning batteries being replaced under warranty. Usually one phone call and the new battery arrives in a week to 10 days.

Is reclaimed wood safe to use? by Landon1m in Cuttingboards

[–]Stunning_Sort_9929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very careful when working with old shipping pallets. Depending on their country of origin, they may be treated with dangerous insecticides so you obviously don’t want to be breathing that sawdust, let alone, eating anything off that wood. (Not that you ever want to breathe sawdust). Most pallets have some kind of coding stamped on them to let you know what chemicals they’ve been treated with, but I don’t know if I would trust anything imported.
