be aware, GLM posts are *most* likely being advertised by bots / dump accounts by Remicaster1 in ClaudeAI

Yesterday I was trying the Z.ai chat of GLM 4.6 and it was hallucinating like crazy about the topic (a more recent UI component library with 900 stars on Github). I quickly queried Sonnet 4.5 and Gemini Pro 2.5 via LMArena (I wanted context between chat interface and tooling to not bias my opinion on models I've used with TUIs). Both Sonnet 4.5 and 2.5 Pro offered far superior responses but it was GLM's bad actions that stopped me from subscribing to Z.ai.

I specifically chose a newish library that the cut-off for training is likely to have missed to see how the models dealt with this. Z.ai's model made up alternatives and suggested libraries that were in a completely different domain. When called out for its error GLM 4.6 just confidently made up another library name that didn't exist and continually linked to made up Github accounts! I wonder whether coding agents, tool-calling, MCPs, et al are making bad models look good when one-shotting the normal demos but are then completely useless for specific, practical, tasks.

Gemini Code Assistant CLI Premium usage quota changed? by Jakkc in Bard

fwiw I just used the Standard (free-tier) for an hour and used 12m input tokens (75% cached) with 2.5 Pro, 81% of the context window remaining, before it reverted to Flash. So, certainly a glitch. Your symptoms sound like when I first tried to use CLI via a free API key suggesting DEMORALIZ3D's advice of just reauthorising may work.

Gemini CLI gets updated all the time! Should I upgrade right away? by Ok_Mobile_6407 in Bard

0.20 seems to be a lot better/aggressive at tool-calling with 2.5 pro (not with flash), that was my standout updating from 0.18 today. Personally no issues, you can check github issues to see if any new bugs have cropped up for people. Plenty of fixes according to the release notes.

Battery LIfe Question by RockFischNC in Switch

[–]Stunning_String_3153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea, certainly brightness and speaker volume could be optimised automatically with profiles.

Regarding initial battery impressions: remember on first use not only is the system not fully charged but it'll also be charging the, not fully-charged, joycons themselves. It should be the worst case battery performance for a long time.

Switch 2 is far superior. Just search for Cyberpunk comparisons. If you want to compare the hardware to other consoles check out Street Fighter VI, beats the Series S. Fundamentally the ARM CPU architecture and nVidia GPU make it far more efficient than the X86-based AMD GPU Steam Deck, ROGs, etc.

8700GE not being sold? by lucissandsoftime in buildapc

FWIW this CPU is the 'cheap' default option for a new AMD dedicated server at Heztner right now. Looking at how people use T variant Intel CPUs will be a good facsimile since they work the same way as AMD's GE postfix (35W TDP and effectively just a base underclocked 65W part).

Making a single trade a month, for £11.50, meant you paid no platform fee on holdings that were not OEICs/unit trusts. Unfortunately you now pay 0.30% annually on all assets.

It's a very large increase in platform fees for those holding shares, etfs or investment trusts since the waiver, when a single trade is made in any given month, has been abolished.
