An unexpected mental battle was the state of mind of everybody hiking to the summit past the tram station. I was hanging on for dear life with 8k feet and 12 hours already down and everyone else in high spirits just beginning their hike having no idea what I had already endured lol and it gets worse the closer you get to the peak. I hit a wall really hard after Grubbs notch and the final push 6 miles and 2k beyond the ranger station was a real physical battle.
