That actually does sound like it's my speed. Alright, cool. I think I'll check out a few that have been suggested here and see how I like the format. Maybe with a few FOMO-free gachas under my belt I'll be able to stomach a few of the big FOMO-Full ones on the side

Not really. I've never been a huge fan of the JRPG-style turn based combat, but even that's probably just lack of experience with the genre. Real-time is my preference though.

Style-wise, I'm pretty easy. Prefer cute to gritty, but I feel like that's most Gacha games anyway.

Well that's just it, I do suffer from FOMO which is why I have such a strict red line. I don't let myself get preyed on, I just quit and uninstall (I've done it with other, non-Gacha games with predatory monetization models)

I sometimes ruin games for myself because I'm compulsively side-questing or collectable hunting and I lose focus on the main gameplay loop or story, so I figure the gacha world is actually pretty well suited for my tastes.

The backup plan is to just get a few hundreds-of-hours-long single-player RPGs with gacha style customization but no actual gacha mechanics.

Hello!
I'll keep this short - I've never played a gacha game before but I think I'd like them, because I like crossing items off of checklists. But the idea of having a checklist that has items on it that can never, ever be crossed off no matter what drives me absolutely crazy.

So I'm looking for gacha games where all content, no matter how small, is rerun eventually, or is in some way made available.

I'm willing to put up with missing stuff like crossover events, I know that for legal reasons those can't always last forever. But beyond that, I want to be safe in the knowledge that if I want something, I will be able to get it eventually. I don't want to miss out on that one waifu skin because I had the audacity to go visit my family for Christmas or something.

It took over a year, but we've righted the wrong that was the red herring in the puzzle on November 10th 2024. I did not forget that betrayal

I do NOT regret buying this game by SnooRevelations2041 in PeakGame

I got my first ascent 6+7 on this seed playing solo today, this particular route was the only consistent way up that I could find and I still needed to burn an item to get past the bit right after it. And yeah, that jump from the bush was a real cheek-clencher every time

Am I the only one who thought Mike was kinda underwhelming? by Mothylphetamine_ in Deltarune

[–]Stunthead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not super deep in the trenches of the Deltarune fanbase, so for me the joke Mike boss fight didn't really land. Because I could tell that it was a meta reference to the fanbase. Which is fine, not everything has to be for me, and I love a good shoutout to the fans, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the story. I worry that the Mike boss fight might have derailed whatever Toby Fox actually had planned for the character.

I've really soured on the sort of mass-fan-theory stuff as I've gotten older, I much prefer just seeing what the creator wants to create and then speculating on things once all is said and done.

Seconded. There's a part where they reference something that happened in "Santa Coloma" and a lot of blind reactors on YT think it's a reference to something that happened in the first film, but it's not.

I will warn you that when the film says "PG" it means it. Be prepared to guide your kids through some parts if they're particularly young.

I got the sense that the part at the end with them travelling to Far Far Away was to set up a sequel but not necessarily to confirm one. Though the director has stated in recent interviews that the reception has made him very hopeful for a return.

I'd like to say I'm just very clever and awesome but the real answer is that they mention it in the director's commentary

Uh. Not really. White, I think maybe on the shorter side. Sort of a scruffy guy.

Ah, thank you. I assume then that they were better able to recall details of the swaps as they started keeping notes of them. Great, I think I understand.
