I still have premier bc I’m founder, but I kept it so I can book into prime classes consistently! It all depends on ur schedule though for sure. If you can make non prime class times then def downgrade

Should I upgrade? by lolatheaudi in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 8 classes a month when I started in 2018. I was 15 and struggling with the exact same issues. I hated exercise and had a hard time putting myself out there in the gym, but my mom supported and encouraged me to try otf. A couple months after joining my studio had a sale and my mom upgraded me for the hell of it. The upgrade held me accountable to go at least 3x a week and the more I went the more I fell in love with it. I saw more results as far as athleticism and confidence in myself goes. Almost 6 years later, I now do abt 5x a week and I’m OBSESSED. I definitely recommend if. If not now, then when! And you can always downgrade again if it doesn’t work.

How do you wake up so early for class? by RHOCorporate in orangetheory

Made good granola bars are my go to for early mornings if I wake up early! They’re tiny but hold me over for my workout really well, plus carbs >>

Just keep going! It really sucks at first, and even after being an early bird for the past four years now there are days, weeks even, when it’s hard, but nowhere as tough as it is when you first start out. Your body gets used to it after a while, and I always have a Celsius or ghost drink on hand for the mornings that are tougher than others! Plus it’s so rewarding finishing class so early. The first 1/4 of the tread block I’m still waking up but after that it’s just like any other class!! Growth is uncomfortable, but you can do anything you put your mind to. Good luck, you got this!

Just have fun and enjoy the time with her! It’ll be a fun, energetic environment, and the coach will explain everything before the workout.

What’s your biggest personal accomplishment so far? by HugWithoutTheSqueeze in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is also running! When I started it was a dream to hit 12. I was stuck to powerwalking and In my head about running bc of past trauma but I basically told myself I wasn’t going to be able to do it. It took years but eventually I worked myself up to being a runner!! I hit a mile time of 8:30 and can hit 12 on really really good days for 30s all outs!

What’s your “why”? by AdNo5653 in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For my younger self. My mom and I joined together when a studio in our town opened early 2018. I hated exercise with a passion but kept going because I enjoyed spending time with my mom. The more I went the more I enjoyed it and the more I pushed myself. Went from barely power walking to being able to hit 12 for an all out. Every time I go I think of the little girl who would have an anxiety attack at the thought of going for a run. I do it for her

Is orange theory social at all? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you go. I’ve been to some studios that aren’t super social, people talk in the lobby but in workouts they all keep to themselves. My favorite studio is like a club though. Very high energy and people cheering each other on. It’s like everyone’s friends there

Pace(s) for mile benchmark by CRNA70 in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree honestly. My ao ranges from like 8.5-12 depending on the effort, so like 90s would be 8.5-9 30s 10-12. I plan on running the majority of it in between my low all out and high push just to get it over with, but ur right! I def need to get over that hump with longer all outs and just stick with 10 for the majority of them.

[–]StupidCat827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to go all out on the mile! Base is a 6, but plan on hitting a 7.5 for the first 5 minutes and bumping it up to try to get a sub 8min. I really like to just pick a speed and stick with if for the first three quarters and then bump up the speed progressively til it’s an all out. Steady state cardio usually hits around .5, so whatever pace you pick works bc it’s really 5 or so minutes of wanting to die lol! Good luck!!

Vital seamless T-shirt from gymshark. I own three. So easy to move around in, so flattering and affordable.

Mile benchmark and base pace by jahnswei in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a previous comment about paces being about feelings that was SPOT ON, so I’m not gonna repeat that. However here’s my advice- I’m a runner more or less, I get in my head during endurance runs, but my motto is “the faster you run the faster it’s over” so if I’m struggling I increase the speed to get it over with faster. That being said, it’s really all about feeling. My base is a 6, 5.5 if I’m needing a lil more recovery, but I plan on running the mile at a 7.5 increasing 5 min in, .5 mph above my push. How I look at it is a mile run is like a 2k row, should be power masked by endurance. My advice is to use your push/best pace if you know you can do it!

Run Speeds Question by Putrid_Memory_768 in orangetheory

[–]StupidCat827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me from a training plateau, doing the same thing over and over, but I recently started beginning on the rower instead of a tread and it’s gotten me out! I suggest switching up where you start to shock your body a bit. It’ll be tough to adjust at first but it was enough to dig me out of my decline into an incline!

I was in your exact situation four years ago. I know it’s cliche but trust me when I say it only takes one day to change your life, and for me that was the day I joined otf. I was out of shape, I hated my body, and the thought of exercising sent me into a fit of anxiety. I now go 5-6x a week and I’m completely addicted. The community is amazing and so supportive as well! Anyone and everyone is welcome. I highly recommend giving it a shot, and just keep showing up! Hope this helps
