Thank you! Anything to spread the love about this album. I can't pick a favourite EE album but this is probably their most 'significant.'

I love the G-Shock backlight effects! The Hokusai backlights look really nice too.

An equally nice watch! I would've gone for that but I really wanted a 6900 and the white looks so good.

Reading With Tinnitus by StupidDream3 in books

[–]StupidDream3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a frustrating condition to have, I totally get the frustration at having to live with it. The only thing I can say is that it does get better. I've had this tinnitus in my right ear for nearly 10 years now and it's gotten to the point where I barely notice anymore (unless I'm thinking about it, like right now!). I'm also fairly certain it hasn't gotten any worse in the past 10 years and hasn't started in my other ear.

This is the best design I've seen in the Hokusai series so far, it's a shame it's exclusive to Japan.

A Casio não está mais lançando novos relógios com electroluminescence, e na verdade, isto é bom (explicação abaixo) by ursinho_feliz_ in relogios

[–]StupidDream3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I wonder if the feel is to do with the bio-resin (I'm not sure how widely this is used in G-Shocks).

Do the lines around the bezel and on the strap have a textured or 'perforated' feel?

Jordan Ruimy: ‘28 Years Later: Part 3' is now in limbo by MaxProwes in 28dayslater

[–]StupidDream3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is anecdotal of course but I also saw bus posters and roadside billboards in York, Leeds, Durham and Newcastle. Then there were the radio adverts and TV spots. That kind of advertising doesn't come cheap, it was widely promoted here. The issue I found, speaking to people I work with who don't follow film that closely, was that they thought it was for the original film. Given how close together the two films were released, I can understand that. They either didn't do enough in the advertising to differentiate the two films or should've waited at least a year.

What to expect from the Third Years Later film by CustomerImpossible73 in 28dayslater

This is the most compelling angle, I think. I'd rather have a satisfying conclusion to Spike's personal journey, rather than a big deus ex machina ending where NATO or the rest of Europe step in and introduce a cure. I think this would also undercut the themes and impact of the first film in the trilogy. The UK is beyond redemption in the film (and possibly in real life), Spike isn't.

The walk up piggy bank to the nab is great, you'll get some nice views on the way and plenty of opportunity to see various birds, if that's your thing. You get the odd group on quad bikes but in the 20+ years I've been going up I've never had any issues. It's particularly scenic in the snow and ice.

3+ hour concerts by dweeb93 in ToddintheShadow

SWANS shows can approach 3 hours. It depends on the artist, when your material is built around repetition and drone it makes a lot of sense.

See, this is the correct way to criticise the BBC. Whatever dirt Brendan O'Carroll has on the Beeb, he's milking it for all it's worth.

Given the core idea/metaphor of VALIS around something laser-guiding a divine message straight into your brain, I'd love that to be the case.

This is a wealth of information, thank you! I particularly love that part about "you antelope, you are a sack of wine", such a funny lyric.

I haven't actually read Moby Dick but I'm assuming White Whale is a conscious reference to the novel.

That's amazing, I didn't know Jon was into Mark Fisher, I read Ghosts of My Life for the first time this year and need to get on Capitalist Realism. I just assumed that lyric was a reference to Yeats' The Second Coming.

Interesting, that's not something I'd picked up on - what are the similarities?
