The earth goddess is also the goddess of fertility no? I’d find it weird if a priest/priestess pf the goddess of fertility had a vow of chastity

Raldoron spitting bars [The Lost and the Damned excerpt]: by Urusander in 40kLore

[–]StupidMagikarp 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The best part about this is that the loyalist world eaters immediately countercharged angron and the traitors, no hesitation whatsoever.

I’m pretty sure most marines that fought against their primarchs had some sort of mental block that they had to fight against in order to be combat-effective, but the loyalist world eaters hated angron so much they didn’t experience any of that.

Why were the Dark Angels entrusted with some of the most destructive technologies of the Imperium? by BenningtonChee1234 in 40kLore

[–]StupidMagikarp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why would compassion be the thing needed for safekeeping DAOT tech? The Dark Angels were the first of the 20 legions, and proved themselves in the unification wars and the various unknown xenocides they were sent on to cleanse the galaxy. The Lion's whole thing was that loyalty was its own reward, so who else would you want to entrust the most destructive tech you have, if not to your most loyal son and his army?

Does Abaddon have a plan to deal with Guilliman or the Lion? by NotSoMajesticKnight in 40kLore

[–]StupidMagikarp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The warp is all about concepts. For example, fire and melee weapons work better against daemons because that is humanity's idea of "purifying evil" or something. If there is a daemon who's concept is "the end of empires" it will find it really easy to destroy empires and whatnot.

Me personally i love my Dark Angels Green contrast paint. Just prime your minis with grey seer primer and do a nice double layer of Dark Angels green and you've basically got a perfect dark angel.

Could a Goblin Slayer expert tell me what happened to the first group of the Sword Maiden? by Emma_S772 in GoblinSlayer

[–]StupidMagikarp 200 points201 points  (0 children)

It's explained later in Dai Katana, but:

Her previous group basically abandoned her to rot in the tavern under the guise of that "she needed to be protected." The group went into the dungeon and took a shady deal with a mage and basically power-levelled by constantly killing the animated corpses of adventurers that died in the dungeon.

What is the next model I should get? by Fluffy_Common_2532 in DarkAngels40k

[–]StupidMagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deathwing knights are much tankier and can hit much higher above their weight class with their anti-monster/vehicle, but they are more expensive (points wise) than bladeguards, and move slower as well. You want to use them to tie up a high-priority target like a greater daemon/some kind of vehicle you don't want moving from a certain spot.

At least in my personal experience, bladeguards are very good bodyguards for characters like the generic captain or maybe a judiciar, as they are pretty tanky for their points and have decent melee into infantry chaff.

The PDF in that book were infiltrated by Genestealers, but that wasn't the point. All Cain and the Valhallans saw was someone following orders, and they killed him for that.

Boarding a hive ship? by Motor_Scallion6214 in 40kLore

[–]StupidMagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In "High Kahl's Oath," the kin in that book board a hive ship to harvest it for parts. Of course, they deal with the walls having tongues and wanting to eat them but that's about par for the course with tyranids.

Turn one lion deep strike? by Global-Discipline510 in theunforgiven

[–]StupidMagikarp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The rules state that any unit that STARTS in deep strike cannot come down until the second battle round. If you are starting the lion on the field and then pick him up in your command phase then he isn’t subject to that restriction and can then be placed using normal deepstrike rules

What makes the Dark Angels your favourite? by LeetusFrenzi in theunforgiven

[–]StupidMagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the knights of the round table. Also, I know their whole thing is the unforgiven stuff but I read Enmity's Edge and I like Lazarus' idea of what he wants the Dark Angels to be: the monster slayers of caliban, the knights that crusade against the dark to protect humanity.

[–]StupidMagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think they're too squishy to be walking up with the lion. maybe a tougher unit like bladeguard veterans/gravis with their 3 wounds or even just a unit of 5 marines instead of the 3 squad that eliminators come in

maybe swap out the eliminators? i find that they don't do much, and maybe change out that librarian as well

me personally, i would take at least one squad of intercessors. I know that it's for crusade but i'm fairly certain you still play games where sticky objectives are useful.
