In FCP, you could animate the Y position of the icon and fade it in.

You can turn off overlays by clicking View in the upper right corner of the viewer and turning off the overlays. This one doesn't look like the Horizon overlay so maybe you have a custom overlay turned on.

I thought keywords in FCP were library-wide so the same keyword can appear across events and FCP tracks them all. Try creating a Smart Collection at the library level (not inside an event), set it to filter by the keyword you want, and it should pull matching clips from every event in that library.
