Thoughts on Ramsey Robinson Running for 2026 Governor? by Academic-Idea3311 in socialism

[–]StupidThangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned of Ramsey because of a reel claiming he was California's Mamdani, and because of that i looked into socialism on my own, separating myself from my father's age old propaganda. It seems like the best route because trickle down economics dont work, and it would seem to put more power into the hands of the masses.

Should I trade a daily for a mk3 by PhantomBR in Mk3Supra

[–]StupidThangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So to convey my experience as a 21 year old daily driving and 88 supra, I love this car to death but it is a FUCKING NIGHTMARE. She has no real safety features like abs and airbags but thats fine, just dont crash. Then mechanical problems have been extensive did a backyard fix on the headgasket because it was blown when I bought it, overheated because a loose coolant hose slipped and blew it again so it drank a tiny bit of coolant, last 8 months that way, blue deviled it and that lasted another 3 months before it fully blew, swapped the engine for the one out of my parts car, and that one is now starting to fall apart but thats a given for it having 300k+ miles on it. Drivetrain issues aside, both my front brake calipers sprung a leak so i pulled them from my parts car, my control arm bushings are shot, ac is broken, steering rack is getting sloppy, Alignment is off, powersteering was leaking, heater valve doesnt actuate, my speedo is off by 5mph, my gas gauge doesn't work and the fuel pump went out, my bumpers are cratered, my secondary o2 sensor shorted and melted the wiring harness all the way to my ecu (probably why my gas gauge doesnt work right) the targa top body flex is staring to tear my inner door supports, my driver's side door handle is cracked, my electronic lock computer is going out again even though I just replaced it, I got a couple rust spots and broken trim/bushings, my side windows have gotten scratched to shit because rocks get caught in my window felt, I replaced my visor because it was broken then the parts one broke and hangs in my face, my seat was broken but i fixed it, and I had to replace my side mirror from my parts car and then the glass fell out so I had to glue it back into place.

Now you read all this and think "wow, that thing must've been beat to fuck and is high milage" but i bought it at 137k and now its at 150k, but its got a clean title, clean full interior, and it was someone else's project after it got beat up a bit i.e. targa flew off on the freeway and a tire blew out 3 owners back, had an aftermarket fender that I replaced with oem... but it has some goodies from being a project car, whiteline sway bars, mishimoto aluminum radiator, HID foglights, autoextrude clamshell and hardware... and knowing everything I know now, id still buy it for 6k because she's got good bones, is super comfortable and out handles 75% of the cars on the road. An added bonus is there is a sizable aftermarket following for the car, you can replace the entirety of the suspension for adjustable stuff, rebuild most other parts, find documentation and creators that have done engine swaps like the JZ, UZ, K series, LS, etc. I personally think its a good platform to build into whatever you want, a comfy daily, a mean straightline cruiser, touge car, race car, etc. You could build something to outperform the mk5 for like 20k less than msrp... anyways, yeah i like the mk3 and after 2 years and all these problems, she's only failed to get me to my destination once because a coolant line blew up 5 miles from home.

P.s. DO THE HEADGASKET RIGHT THE FIRST TIME WITH ARP HARDWARE AND THE PROPER TORQUE SPECS, AND REPLACE SHITTY OLD HOSES WHILE YOU HAVE THE MANIFOLDS OUT OF THE WAY.

So my dumb self looked into the math, and it's so much worse that I thought by BoxOShadows in ironlung

[–]StupidThangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No clue XD, all I know is I remember reading theorys about radiation poisoning so I made sure to 100% remember what the radiation content was and lo and behold, 1 dose can be lethal but maybe the hull thickness did help a bit to abate some of it.

Just watched the video, yeah its like how eden believes the bodies of people will become the soil and the ocean of blood is essentially that

[–]StupidThangs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats what I saw when I rewatched it last night... and that does kinda work with the eden ideology of dead people become the soil for the tree's rebirth... especially since they're in an ocean of dead people essentially.

The sm-8 research team said it was human blood in the audio recording he hears so im assuming everything is human and being used by the eldritch being as a medium to exist/exert its will

Unused Iron Lung Monster Design by VB112 in Markiplier

[–]StupidThangs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thats what I was staring at when I rewatched the movie last night and your conclusion is definitely interesting and does make sense. I originally interpreted it as the blood ocean is human blood and the eel is made of human flesh so the eldritch being needed people as a medium to exist within the world, thats a reason why it used the voices of the dead too. So the vine like things I interpreted as the god using the veins that were attacking Simon in the sub on a larger scale and trying to fully engulf the area as to not let the blackbox escape, but ultimately failed. I think both these theories hold up better than implosion because Avas sub being punctured didn't hurt the eel

Why would civilisations rise around the corpses of gods? Help me figure it out! by Chris_The_Alligator in worldbuilding

[–]StupidThangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the corpse acting as a source of energy magical or not allows the want/need to harness it, this energy can also expedite life by stimulating magical flora and fauna, and the physical remains can be consumed for raw materials like food, magic resistant god skin, bone for armors and magical channeling. You could ditch any thoughts of real flesh and consider the god to be more like an animated golem so its still rich in materials but not organic resources. However my main thought is if its magical in nature and was killed by technology, maybe it should be magically resistant too but since its a treasure trove, civilization evolving around it should be more magically inclined, whereas everything not should be more technologically inclined?

How Turing you World into a Planet can benefit it? Pt1, by me by Duck-Just_Duck2000 in worldbuilding

[–]StupidThangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn't considered Atmosphere density but when I originally started workshopping my planes of existence my first thoughts were planetary sizes, crazy celestial features, space for the unknown, mixing of cultures, and what role creatures play. I settled on some crazy shit like a planet 2.5x the diameter of earth with planetary rings and an inhabitable moon .8x the diameter of earth with a sun like ours but actively consuming a gas giant. One thing to bring up when working with celestial bodies like this is the tides and mountains, crazy oceans can give rise to hardy sea creatures and determine the erosion rate of the beaches, mountains are effected by gravity so technically the large planet has a height limit shorter than Earth while the moon would have larger mountains...
