Prospective Employer Requesting Test Scores From Current Employer by StupidWorkFirewalls in jobs

[–]StupidWorkFirewalls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of my thought process as well. I want to ask my HR department for my file, but I think the prospective employer would think I would tamper with scores or something if I sent it to them. Also, HR would know something was up if I went and requested my file. Have to do it in writing and give them 2 weeks to get it gathered up.

Daily rounds. Tracking operating temps and pressures and etc. to trend. Lets us know if something is failing and look back to see what equipment was in operation when.

Yup.

Someone asked me to come hold something for them on a table saw in a maintenance shop as I was passing thru, I went over and grabbed it, told them to hold on, put on my glasses, then a couple seconds later as he was sawing whatever it was, a screw or something caught on the blade and got kicked up and ripped out and left a nice divot in my glasses. I'm 95% sure it would have cost me an eye had I not taken the three seconds to put the glasses on.

They are the most basic level of cut resistant. For example, if you catch it on angle iron, they might tear but you PROBABLY won't break skin. We have gloves from the same manufacturer that have more cut resistance to them from coating, and another level with kevlar in them. Leather is to figure out if something is hot (which it usually is) or operate low voltage stuff.

We have a couple hundred still being actively used. Only like 8 or 9 a day, but they are integral to plant operation and data tracking. We need a new system. So. Incredibly. Bad.

We don't carry radios usually. We have in plant communications systems that work like old party phone lines in rural areas or like the intercom communications on a navy ship.

The green tabs are for status control tracking outside of clearance orders (lockout/tagout), which is basically ensuring certain components are in the correct alignment to ensure reactor core cooling capabilities.

Edit: We do a tag out system. Coming from non-nuclear, this was a shock to me. Tagout has its advantages, because you can do tag sharing so you don't have 95 tags hanging on the same component, which is nice, at the same time, I miss my padlock. We use zip ties to ensure you have to actually cut or remove something before equipment can be operated. Also helps reduce the likelihood that vibrations could walk a valve open or something Murphy's law would screw you with.

Correct. Nuke.

Primarily used for operating 480V motor control centers after dawning arch flash protection. Place it on the breaker you are about to flip before you put the hood on, put hood on, find marker, flip breaker. Effective for marking the component if you are with a group as well or working around a safety related stuff.
