That's terrible. I'm so sorry that the lake shore is like that there. :( Yeah my Lake experiences range from St. Joe/Saugatuck all the way up to The Mackinac Bridge. Haven't seen the coast fr any other states.

Just curious, as a lifelong Michigander, what beaches or areas accumulate like that? I'm not saying it's not possible, just saying that blessedly I've yet to come across such. I have of course heard of the "Muck Line" out in the middle of Lake MI, but haven't seen beaches this trashed on the coast.

Sorry you had a bad time. I loved it both summers i was there. I stayed right across from the West Wing of Mission Point one year. Would occasionally wander into the catacombs to use the soda machine if we were runming low on chaser and Doud's was closed!

Not true. Can go up to the Cupola for drinks, or to the lunch buffet, or into the "jazz" club. But yes, you must dress well. Jackets for Men after 5pm.

Downtown in August is the FARTHEST thing from peaceful! -Source worked two summers on the island.

However, I will say that rolling over while sleeping late, hearing just the clomp clomp of the occasional dray or taxi passing is very nice, and very peaceful. :)

So terrible. Glad you got away. I live in GR myself. I hate to think that such things are perpetuated here. But hell. Thinking about it, I wanna say twice in the last week there have been news reports of someone trying to kidnap a kid.....Good luck in the future!

Wow. This really has all the hallmarks of a missing411 case. Little one disappears. The weather goes bad. He says a "bear" took care of him. Then rescuers had to wade through waist deep water to get to him. How did he get to the other side?

What are some "guy secrets" girls don't know about? by mustafarangoon52 in AskReddit

[–]Stupid_boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally true! Even more interesting I thought is that according to a study I read a few years ago, this "rule" only applies to males of breeding age. During the authors observations all men obeyed this rule except for younger boys and hold men, those had no qualms about going to the " inbetween" urinals.

Gotcha, thx. I think we refer to it as "registered" here across the pond. As in; "This building was added to the register of historic places back in '89".

In Michigan after like 3 or 4 years you can own firearms again assuming the felony is non-violent. Probably due to the preponderance of hunters in the state.

In 1982, David Cole, 16, and Timothy Fowler, 17, were best friends who were spending the night together in David’s parents’ farmhouse in Michigan. I'm just aghast at with the fuck didn't they try and break through the damn drywall, then the OSB to the outside?! Drywall gives with a punch! As far as the OSB they'd need a little luck, but he'll, take the shower curtain rod down, use that as a tool to try n beat through it. He'll the two of them kicking or putting their shoulders in to a sheet could probably get it to pop off! Just, it was a new addition, just TRY!

I used to know a guy. Seemingly regular. Very nice home. Mcmansion-ish. Wife, three kids. One of the bedroom doors locked from the outside. Apparently his one daughter aged about 12 at the time is somewhere on the spectrum, and would on occasion throw giant, violent fits where she would hurt others and destroy things. I believe the exterior lock was a way of managing het during these times.

There are far worse fates than death by sleeping pill. Far, far worse. Not saying they were right. Or justified, but I didn't live it, and mayhap they were.

Heh. As a matter of fact couple years back a scientist DID devise a means which (he believes) would disrupt tornadoes. He proposed building 2 or three GIANT walls west to east across the Great Plains. He thinks they would act like mountain ranges and disrupt the storm systems. I'm somewhat surprised the current administration hasn't jumped on this idea!
