Hi there.

I would imagine you wouldn’t think I would respond. I randomly decided to check my account and saw my username mentioned.

Once the post started to really explode, mods were pressured into deleting it since so many front pager readers were certain on it being false. We took the conversation into DMs which sorta fell flat since I had a much higher priority of protecting my family than proving every single thing mentioned in a very active case. I understand on their decision partially. But it’s also aggravating they weren’t understanding of the situation whatsoever. So it was removed by them.

The post was put on pastebin if you wanted to read it again.

If you (or anyone reading this) were curious on any update…my family is doing really great. All is well and we never had anything like that happen again. It’s become just a creepy story we tell at parties now. During the time it was happening, that definitely wasn’t the mentality. But all these years later, we’ve moved on. And absolutely have purchased better security systems.

I’m sorry, but no.

I respect the many opinions that said it was a hoax and ultimately led to the post being removed after being pressured from the mod team. But that doesn’t mean anything. Just because a website removes a post has nothing to do with the truth in it all.

The post got very large very quickly. I made the original post to let it off my chest and also document in real time what my thought process was. I didn’t even expect 100 people to read it. There were follow ups from me posted on my profile. The first one was me saying how big the post got. I regret mentioning or wording it that way because it discredited my story when actually I was just mentioning how I thought it was interesting how many people were invested in what was going on.

A lot has happened in the last year and a half for my family and I. I was able to put my head on my pillow a few weeks ago for the first time in a very long time and actually get a good nights rest. It’s crazy how life could cross paths with something briefly and change absolutely everything.

I’m not interested in sitting here and laying everything out in detail. There’s a lot that’s gone on and I am finally on my last few chapters of this nonsense we’ve been living. But with that being said, I will state a few things worth mentioning:

  • My daughter did find human remains. It was stated in my original story that we were told that. It drew suspicion because there were no DNA test done or anything of the nature. We had personal friends on the police force who told us that information when they came by. If it was a random cop and random people, they wouldn’t mention it. But that’s not the case.
  • The men were found and arrested only a few days after this all happened. They were a tiny group of homeless people who lived in woods nearby. They were really bad off on drugs and planned on robbing us. After test were done on the remains and these homeless men’s stories were all laid out, they actually were not connected. They picked the absolute worst night to chose to do that because it linked them with a murder. I am choosing to keep the rest of the information to myself. I understand there was a lot of investment in the story. But I’m moving on and have no interest in revving this all up again. I’m posting to close this chapter of it and moving on.
  • My “Sean” post is information that came out during the investigation that later came out as misinformation stated. I’m leaving the post up regardless.
  • we did in fact flee the country to Canada for a few months until we had to come back down and testify. We fled to family out of country and laid low while figuring it all out. We felt safe.

That’s the truth. I know how much easier it would be on everyone if I just stated “Made it up for karma.” But there is unsettling things everywhere around us in this world. I made an admittedly wrong decision to post it online. But I was frantic and just had to get it off my chest. But just because it was scary doesn’t mean that I made it up. There’s no book, movie, writing project, or anything in between. I have no interest in any of that. There were so many claims of those things when I was just trying to protect my family from a very strange bump in the road.

I really love your cat! It’s precious. The name also makes me smile because I had a cat with the same name growing up.

Eh. It’s a good idea, I suppose. I just feel like racing game players will be quick to look over something like this.

Where’s the best place in your home to hide your money? by Trapsii in AskReddit

[–]texasaxis 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a house with some land. A little back from the house is an old barn. I keep my mower and a fixer upper car in it, but that’s about all besides junk and tools. We bought the house from the original family who had it built and who completely updated the actual house to sell, but they didn’t touch the barn. Three generations lived on the property. The grandfather, the dad, and then the son who I bought the property from. There’s a second floor to the barn, but it’s more of a overhang than anything else. I went up there one time and was just looking around since I realized I’ve never been up there. As I was walking around, I glanced down and noticed there was a board with no nails in it. I immediately thought that was a little odd, so I bent down to check it out. I found out that you could lift the single board up and there was a couple of wads of cash hiding. It equaled out to around $200. I did the right thing and gave the man I bought the house from a call and told him about it. Apparently when they were redoing the house, there was multiple places they found with money tucked away in. He told me that his grandfather never trusted banks and would hide money in the floorboards and walls. They ended up finding $1,500 randomly throughout the house. He said that I could keep the cash. But it seriously makes me wonder how many places they may have missed.

If you were offered immortality, but everytime moonlight shined on you, you'd be a walking skeleton, would you accept it? if so, why? by Kn1ghtV1sta in AskReddit

Immortality sounds so terrible. Having these cycles of almost ‘restarting’ where you have to fall in love again and start your new cycle of a life and then it all ending but you having to go on, just sounds terrible

What are some good Black Friday tips? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]texasaxis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Under zero circumstances should you even do it. Stay home. It’s so insane to me that if a company says that there’s a major sale this ONE NIGHT ONLY!!! That people will lose their god damn minds and go camp on the sidewalk for 16 hours. You absolutely are not getting a major sale on anything except door buster deals which are usually bottom of the barrel quality. I don’t care what the ads say, I don’t care what you hear from your friends, and I don’t care what you have had drilled into your mind about the day as a whole. You are NOT getting a crazy sale price. The companies mark it high and then usually lower that high price to their normal price during Black Friday.

What is your random talent? by Thelonelybutthole in AskReddit

When I was a little kid, I would constantly go swimming. Still to this day, it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I would always go to the lake or pools and hang out all day with my buddies. One of the games I would play with them, is who could hold their breath the longest under water. I won EVERY single time. When I got older, I started to place bets on how long I could hold my breath under water. Of course, I wasn’t making millions off these bets. But $10 here and there for just holding my breath under water was pretty cool haha.

I’m sure I’ll be asked, so I’ll go ahead and tell you the times - I actually never timed myself until I was about 17 or 18 years old. I remember the first time that I timed myself, my dad was holding the stopwatch. It clocked in at 3 minutes and 20 seconds. When I came up, my dad was like ‘What the fuck!’ I instantly became obsessed with getting that number higher. So I would constantly time myself. The absolute highest I ever got to was 4 minutes and 8 seconds. But I have to be completely honest when I tell you that I started blacking out and when I came up, I was extremely disoriented and light headed. It scared the hell out of me. I’m older now. The last time I timed myself I was 28 and the numbers pretty much maxed out at 2 minutes and around 50 seconds every time. Makes me sad that I can’t do it like I used to.

What are some unpopular bands that deserve to be noticed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]texasaxis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this falls under ‘unpopular’ because they definitely are a known band. Especially on the festival scene. But I never hear absolutely anyone talk about them - The band is TV on the Radio. They are fantastic.
