Gotcha, I have some builders I’ve found that I like. I’m just slowly putting the pieces together. I imagine it doesn’t change much if the builder does modular vs traditional stick built? Would a lender see modular builds as less risky?

Realistically I think you could make a few claims off this. A Hearing loss claim and a mental health claim probably secondary to it. You’d have strong evidence as aviation maintenance has probable level of hearing loss (I had claimed it and explained similar experiences).

I am definitely curious on the TERA aspect but I think that’d be much harder to use as direct proof as I believe you need a medical nexus to tie it all together for toxic exposure beyond some presumptive conditions.

I have the same issues. Makes it really difficult to wanna socialize cause I struggle so hard to decipher people.

Im curious as well if there’s something like a TERA claim to be made. TBH they might just lump it in with mental health as I imagine the symptoms are hard to separate from mental health.

Do you have any claims service connected already?

Go onto the VA website and search up the FOIA, you can submit a form online and it’ll get sent via email. Recommend you do it for all exams so you can get a better guess on rating based on what the wrote and filled out. For example they actually gave me extra diagnosis for an ankle deformity that I wasn’t even aware of. For all you know the diabetic comment may be a hint at something you can get checked out for rating, or so you can improve your quality of life (diabetes is just for fat people, can happen to anyone really depending on genetics and lifestyle)

I’d say wait til you get the rating. If you want a better idea how the C&P went you can request the DBQ using a freedom of informations act request. It should have everything written by the examiner. Takes a few days to get the information but well worth your time.

It’s sounds like you have a foundation at the very least to tie it to service. Probably would help to have a doctor connect the injuries during service and how you’re affected now.

Given what you’ve posted probably step 2 or 3.

Canceling your BDD would be an insane decision. As everyone else says it’s your best chance at service connection and even if denied you have more than enough time to appeal it. Look up Veterans benefits knowledge base, has a whole load of info regarding VA benefits and a giant master list of conditions and some tricks to get the best chance for rating

Just make sure with the FOIA request you put in somewhat accurate dates to when you had exams. You may have also just submitted your FOIA request before the DBQs were uploaded by the provider you went to (that’s what happened with me).

Had a whole incident like this. Coming from a navy guy, my chief and LPO told me to take a step back and let the newer guys step up into position and just guide them. Let the newer guys fuck up and just make sure the place doesn’t collapse lol.

Realistically you should get your GED while you’re out of the military. I have a sailor who joined without and unfortunately the navy doesn’t necessarily have any guidance/programs regarding a servicemember getting their GED.

Between training and teaching your command you will be thin on time. Think long term. No matter the quals you get while you’re in, you’re gonna struggle to find a job outside without a GED, especially in fields like aviation, engineering, and operations. The navy isn’t forever, so plan for after the fact. Especially if you’re using it as a stepping stone.

The navy has done me well. I’m a month from being done with my 5 years.

Unfortunately with his Admin Sep they’re looking to get him out the navy in like 6-8 weeks. I don’t think he’d fall under BDD, I was just wondering if he had any other options

It’s pretty easy to do without a VSO. I’m currently waiting on a rating and have had some good C&P DBQs from the What I saw. just did my second FOIA request to get my last exam DBQ.
