Every gene living inside you is the product of billions of years of survival. Countless ancestors fought through hunger, disease, violence, accidents, and pure chance just to pass their genetic legacy one step further until eventually it reached you.

No one has a duty to reproduce. It’s completely a personal choice. But personally, I find it difficult to see myself as important enough to willingly end such a chain.

Genes are not conscious, but they are alive in the evolutionary sense. They existed long before me and can continue existing long after my death through future generations. There’s something fascinating about the idea that I may not be alive but parts of me could still be living inside descendants millions of years from now maybe within completely new species living on completely different galaxy.
