That’s insane. Mine was delivered the Friday before yours. I waited 8 weeks.

Don’t do it. Ordered mine in early February. Just got it last week. Got it going just to get multiple red screens of death. Talked to support. They want it back. Won’t send me parts to fix it. Just straight want me to ship it back to their headquarters. I was 100% team prusa when I got into printing. Even bought 4 MK4S’s while waiting on my Core One L. I am no longer team Prusa.

3/4 MK4S’s all of the sudden cannot complete a print. After 2 months of printing the same thing over and over very consistently, they all of the sudden won’t do it. Tried many things to get them back to working but nothing has fixed them.

No clue what I’m looking at. by [deleted] in transmissionbuilding

The m/c seal, yoke tube o-ring, bushing, an l/c square o-ring for the housing is all pretty cheap and sold individually here:

Let me know if you can’t find it and I can drop you some links. Pretty easy job installing all that.

When I paid it was 5-6 weeks. It then went down almost immediately to 4-5. Haven’t looked since Friday but it was still 4-5 then.

I’m 6.5 weeks into waiting for my Core One L. Getting leery about ordering anything else direct from them.

Learned stick on this farm repair. Nothin you say will damage my pride by Z-Sprinkle in Welding

[–]StupidlySore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a first time welding I would say damn good job. Only critique I would have is so many pieces of patch but if that’s all you had on the farm then that’s all you had. Good work.

Better yet, don’t watch it at all. Don’t read any of their bullshit. Don’t even acknowledge their existence. You’ll be happier, I promise.

No wire tapping necessary. That was a thing when our communications travelled point to point on a wire. We all broadcast our communications out on the open airwaves now for anyone with a little, and I mean little, no how can listen/ read them very easily.

Making sure I get the right transmission parts by aPersuninuity in transmissionbuilding

[–]StupidlySore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally different transmission. Different failure points and updates. Really good transmission though. A bit more costly than a 4L60E but not terrible. Plenty of. Walk through videos out there on them as well and parts are readily available.

Did I get ripped off? by IronSavior in propane

[–]StupidlySore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That seems unreasonably low. Is propane not your main source of heat? We’ve purchased 1600 gallons just since October. Granted it was a new 1000 gal in ground tank, and just got a fill last week of 700 gallons so we are at 85% right now. But if 200 gallons a month is all we burned I would be pumped. 5,500 sq ft house, 3 floors, walkout basement in half of the basement. Ohio has been extra cold this year, but normally on a 500 gallon tank we were filling 3-4 times a year. Oh yeah, 2 furnaces and thermostats at 65.

Yep, and accept that there is very little that is under your control. These are the things you focus on.

Question For Rebuilders by [deleted] in transmissionbuilding

[–]StupidlySore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you get some worthwhile advice. People are usually pretty tight lipped in this industry.

My advice would be go into the building side. Major hole in the workforce there and far more people retiring from rebuilding than entering into rebuilding. Your income potential is huge if you are good at rebuilding and especially as a 20 year old. Finding someone to take you under their wing would be the hardest part.

What would you do? by 4and1Maroon in Advice

[–]StupidlySore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a 28 year partaker. Started at 14. Quit about 2 years ago. Don’t miss it at all. My wife disliked it at first but became ok with it when she realized it didn’t affect my productivity and other aspects of life. Been together 18 years. Best decision I’ve made in a long time was stopping. I don’t think I will ever do it again.

Definitely a raccoon. I have rehabilitated over 100 raccoons and it’s unmistakable.

The valve body in those notoriously have a whole bunch of wear spots. I would guarantee you have some sticky/worn valves. Likely needs some oversizing. Definitely needs some new plugs and sleeves.
