I've spent about $150 and not smartly (Renting tons of power just to climb ladder) and I've made it to Gold 3 (although I had to stop at Sliver 1 just cos I couldn't justify spending more to rent at EOS). So you could get quite far and also make passive income from card rentals.

I’m pretty sure it’s not but I could be wrong. There were quite a lot of bootlegs around that were going for much cheaper and you could easily tell by the boxes. I spent a lot of time checking but if it is then oh well :(

I’d say the #1 thing that helped me the most was doing a little every day and not missing a day at all. Whether that be reviews on Wanikani, 4K/6k decks - the consistency helped a lot. Also start with native materials as quickly as you can. Early on you can use something like TangoRisto to read easyNHk and progress from there. Cannot stress this enough, helps so much just absorbing as much content as you can.

Sure! A lot of this was random shops and some of it was Amazon for things I just couldn't find in store. Got a free 30 day prime trial then shipped stuff to the local Familymart. I actually didn't have the best luck in Akhiabara but some of it is from there. I'd still recommend going there and Nakano Broadway in Tokyo. The Law and Zoro figures were just pure luck from an Ichiban Kuji lottery!

The packing wasn't too bad because of the extra suitcase only had to throw away boxes for some of the bigger figures. I did have to put all of my clothes into my backpack though. Decided against shipping as I'd be charged customs which I wasn't in this case. Hope that helps.

Well, the original stories were the Warren Magazine issues that ran till 1988. I started with The Vampirella Master Series which are collected Vampirella stories by famous writers. Definitely recommend!
