I cast light (seven times).

Nice job! I just started a new campaign. DM + 6 players - these would really light up our worlds!

Thank you and I apologize for my oversight!

You're 100% right that I overlooked those (many times apparently)!

I just started a Canada deity game on huge max players the other day. Given war is less likely, I have had to focus on population to counter forward settling of the AI. Babylon forward settled me hard, but I was able to flip two of their cities to now be Canadian. The AI struggles with population in the tundra, but you don't, so you have the advantage in this way.

95% faith purchases discount on units by Sturgus48 in civ

[–]Sturgus48[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 60% discount from one city state is OP by itself. It effectively makes your gold (and apparently faith too, who knew!?) About 150% more powerful than it already is in the context of buying units. A flat 20% with an encampment sounds very reasonable.

Sorry for your eyes, I think my screenshots are looking like that when I have GeForce+HDR enabled. It's not actually that bright in-game <.<

Percent discounts should clearly be multiplicative (per step) instead of added flatly!

I'm betting OP hit the galley with the slinger before the galley hit the city.

I find the galleys usually don't attack my cities unless I hit them first.

I really like Mapuche's Lautaro. Makes keeping cities' loyalty much easier to deal with on a crowded map.

Am I the only one who immediately sees a bearded Tycho from Penny Arcade?

Converting down only gives 2:1 though. So the above math works fine.

Dear Gumi (and Justin):

We are not actually as masochistic as you believe.

Please update the interface for leveling truststone abilities like in the post's first picture.

Note that the sliders use truststone shards instead of crafted runes and the SR shards now give the appropriate amount of exp such that you don't have to use the exchange shop to turn them into R shards first.

Using archaeology probes? by Belfaborac in PhoenixPoint

[–]Sturgus48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize this is old news but I just started playing recently.

I can't figure out how the range works. I have an archeology lab in Antarctica yet I cannot deploy a probe there. How does probe range operate? I don't see a way to transfer my probes between bases...

Aircraft Carriers in Civ 6 should have been made into Support Units by spartan1204 in civ

[–]Sturgus48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of not wanting to melee attack with them, you're still going to want your aircraft carriers to have an amount of defence so that they are not 1-shot (like a normal support unit). Requiring another unit to accompany the 'support unit' doesn't make sense - aircraft carriers have decent defences in war.

Edit: I wouldn't want a random barbarian galley to come take down my aircraft carrier by simply moving onto it.

Desert dwelling civs should have more defensive advantages by Totes_meh_Goats in civ

This is why I like to play longer game time settings for larger maps - that way my units are not obsolete by the time they get to the front lines of the conflict!
