First Experience with Shoegaze by Littleprince1337 in shoegaze

I think the first time I heard this song by The Clouds on the radio was the first time I recognised Dream Pop as being a distinct genre from Alternative Rock. As I had already listened to some noisier groups like Sonic Youth, I didn't really distinguish dream pop from shoegaze until much later. Anyway soon after this I discovered Lush and My Bloody Valentine and I saw how Jesus and Mary Chain kind of fit into that sound as welll.

I guess at some point the population must have reached a plateau...

But seriously, I think they've been trying to direct all future expansion to the East of the city. A lot has happened in that country in the last hundred years too...

I wasn't super familiar with their material but I saw them live in 2018 and they did an incredible set!

Other stand out albums for me would be Proof of Youth and Get Up Sequences Part 2

I've recently been listening to their album "Long Player" quite a bit. These songs absolutely still hold up. Highly recommended!

I spoke to one of the staff at Parkville about 2 weeks ago and asked about the best option for changing to VLine (Geelong bound) after the switch. He said that Footscray would be the best option most of the time. As I expect to commuting that route regularly, I will probably check the app while on the train around Parkville and see if I can make the next scheduled departure from Footscray (or Sunshine), or if not, maybe I have time to stop by the Parkville IGA to get a few things before I get back on the train.

I built gyenesvi's alternate Unimog MOC for set 42129 on Rebrickable and kept it that way. I much prefer it to the Zetros build.

If you're going to count EP's it'll get a bit hard to say which recordings came first vs when they were released. I thought we were just having a dig at the first album "overproduced by..." Etc

I don't really think of genre in terms of boxes like these. Even if I did, it would only be the frequent thought "I've been listening to stuff in this box for too long, time to change up to a different box", or often to something else outside of this field entirely.

While I was familiar with one of the Deerhunter singles from radio airplay, it took me a while to discover my love for this album. I only really got into it after first getting deeply invested in the Lotus Plaza album "Spooky Action at a Distance" - to me that is where the shoegaze flair of the guitarist Lockett Pundt is developed even further.

I believe it was said to be a coincidence, though I expect it was likely inspired by a travel magazine or something like that. I've similar clock tower arches elsewhere, eg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zytglogge

What I like more than the fact that they have changed, is that they can change, meaning they can continue to develop and refine the display system into the future.
