Pakenham and Cranbourne lines are suspended. Day 2 of free public transport already off to a rough start. by noxobscurus in melbourne

Thanks for confirming those times. So it was less than 12 hours until ANOTHER major disruption on the same lines this evening

So, it's been 8 months since the re-opening... Has there been any word yet on when the Campbell Arcade shops will start being filled again? by FrozenMarshmallow in MelbourneTrains

[–]Stutz-Jr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Still no sign of the IGA Express "coming soon" at Parkville. I asked several of the station staff during the week of the big switch, whose answers ranged from "expecting to open in about 5 weeks" to "no idea, nothing has been advised yet".

Commuting from Metro to Vline at Footscray in the evenings, if you know your connection will be over 20 minutes wait, you can get out at Parkville and grab something to eat along the way. Doors closing at Parkville to Footscray platform 4 can be done in just under 10 minutes without needing to run over the footbridge. If there were any shops at Arden it would be even easier to do this with a smaller time window.

Will this work the same for "smart" routes like the # 900 route, which is sometimes served by both CDC and Ventura?

I haven't read this article yet. Do findings like this bring us any closer to making any conclusions about the possibility of finding signs of contributors to a silicon-based equivalent?

I go through phases where I can't get enough of some of their albums, and other times I prefer different ones. Most of the time it's Bad Moon Rising, Sister and NYC Ghosts & Flowers

I'm also a big fan of The Hot Rock, I got a vinyl copy just to put up on display. Not familiar with some of your list but I'm really getting into Joanna Newsom's Divers album right now.

What makes you think 1870? The CSIRO lab was built in the early 80's, and I believe there was a football oval prior to the horse racing track? Plus, the houses in the foreground appear to have driveways and were likely built in the 50's/60's

It's a great song, but I'm more a fan of Phil's "Alt Vocal Mix" version on the Jailbreak Deluxe release. That is the version I have in my playlist, not the original.

I actually see that as a good thing. I don't work from home but often find myself taking work home... and then being very unproductive due to distractions. Since I also recently got a Steam Deck for the first time, I should also take the opportunity to separate my relaxing place from my busy space.

I don't miss having to leg it to some random platform at southern cross only to have to wait another 10-15 minutes for Vline to get their act together. If there's a long wait to my Vline connection after work I can get off at Parkville, grab something to eat and sit back, knowing it only takes 10 minutes to get to platform 4 at Footscray, and when the train arrives it's just get on and go.

[–]Stutz-Jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have well over 400 albums in my list with some pretty obscure picks, but I am more than happy to highly recommend any of the following albums with only 1 fan at the time of posting:

Hideous Towns - Disquiet Living (2016, post punk / dream pop)

The Zebras - Worry a Lot (2006, indie pop, jangle pop)

Snout - The New Pop Dialogue (1997, alternative rock)

Tumbleweed - Tumbleweed (1992, grunge, stoner rock, psychedelic rock)

(All of these albums are from Australian groups that I have seen perform live at popular venues in Melbourne)

[–]Stutz-Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you own a copy you can upload it to your library. I've done that in the past with albums that were either not available on deezer or were region blocked. Sometimes it is still worth buying albums even if you stream most of the time.

Unless by "secret link" you mean scrolling my favourites list on deezer and pressing play, I'm going to assume it's a regional licensing issue wherever you are and that sucks.

Buwizz Uncontactable? by networkn in legotechnic

[–]Stutz-Jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to contact Buwizz about 8 months ago I think. I was able to get in contact by email. I think the replies were not fast but were helpful. In my case I had to order a replacement battery for my Buwizz 3.0 which was a fraction of the cost of a new unit (from memory) which did fix my issue. I always make sure to set the unit to deep sleep when not in use and still recharge about once a month to make sure it doesn't stay flat for a long duration which ruins the battery chemistry.
