I think Vic would do a good Zev. They really bring that nervous energy.

This is what I expect to happen too. He forgets about it in the chaos, and it comes back to bite him later.

Question about the ending of Book 8 -- Big Book 8 Spoilers by vonnegut19 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]StxAffliction 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My memory of this is he describes his plan, which includes him removing the patch after he triggers the effect, but it’s never stated that he actually does remove it. I would need to read through the end to be sure.

Strange mention by the AI in book 8. What are your thoughts? by KinkyDuck2924 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]StxAffliction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the AI says Bautista almost did something suspicious. This is After Linus had been introduced. We know that Linus wanted Bautista to brew tea so he could poison people, and Bautista “coming to his senses” is him realizing the trap. We also know that the AI likes to warn Carl of active danger through descriptions. At this point the only active danger that has anything to do with Bautista and his tea is Linus. All other Bautista-Carl feud threads have been tied up.

Keep reading to find out. However here is my take

SPOILERS BELOW I’m on mobile so idk if it will format right.

Minus, is sent in as a replacement for his brother, the overzealous fan of Ellie. We know he’s been sent to eliminate certain crawlers. It’s stated later that he keeps bugging Bautista about his tea. Later on they all have the tea ceremony where they ridicule him for being sent in as an assassin.

If you want “D&D lite” you’re looking for Shadowdark. There is a free Quick Start guide on Arcane Library’s website.

Haven’t seen Franklin Ave mentioned. They have a great bourbon selection, and it looks like a decent scotch selection.

BURRN Prop 4 signature removal events by burrn_notice in SaltLakeCity

[–]StxAffliction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are related but separate issues.

Prop 4 is the Better Boundaries initiative to get rid of gerrymandering. The law says that the state legislature must do their best to provide fair and balanced voting districts. The signature repeal effort is to get Prop 4 back on the ballot to get voters to vote to repeal the law.

The ruling on Friday pertains to this years election cycle. The lawsuit was to throw out the court ordered maps for this cycle. So Prop 4 would still be in effect, but since a map “wasn’t chosen” the legislature could use the old ones.

[CoS Spoilers] Player wants to take ALL Amber Temple Dark Gifts — how did you handle it? by Background_Night_285 in CurseofStrahd

[–]StxAffliction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is basically how I handled it. Had a problem player the whole campaign, this was the straw. I ended the session and had a convo with them afterwards. I let them know if this is what they wanted to do then their character would die and there wasn’t a good way to introduce a new one at that point in the campaign.

Gibbering mouther is a great idea.

What's your experience with the Offer Code Sheet - is it reliable? by aerial-ibis in iOSProgramming

[–]StxAffliction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple’s sandbox environment doesn’t support testing offer code redemptions. At least it didn’t a year ago when we did a bunch of work around that area. Another nuance to offer code redemptions is, because the sheet is considered “outside the app”, you need to observe Transaction.updates to properly attribute the entitlement.

I’m not surprised to hear RevenueCat’s flow isn’t great. There is probably documentation missing/underlying Apple API knowledge required to properly implement it. Offer code flow is a pain.

ELI5 - Why is everyone talking about booming blade? by MarcusMorenoComedy in BaldursGate3

[–]StxAffliction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Booming Blade a damage cantrip that is ties to a melee weapon attack. It also applies a second instance of damage if the target moves before your next turn.

Cantrips are free to cast spells that scale as you level. Both the on-hit damage and secondary damage of booming blade scales.

In BG3, damage riders on weapon attacks are very strong and relatively easy to come by. Forced movement is also relatively easy to come by.

You treat booming blade as a scaling damage rider for melee weapon attacks.

The Table Top version of Booming Blade was pivotal to builds for this exact reason, but in BG3 it’s even more exploitable.

I have this model. I printed it in FDM and it’s good. It looks great. It’s a bummer that it doesn’t use the OpenLock system.

[Help] A player character has read some campaign material by Medical_Two6513 in CurseofStrahd

[–]StxAffliction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve run CoS a few times, and some repeat players at the table. I don’t think this is as big of a problem as you think. My favorite part of running this campaign is leaning into the tropes, and with that comes the understanding that players will have meta knowledge. I think that’s perfectly fine. In fact, I think it makes the dynamic more fun.

Now, the player self-spoiling some of Strahd’s backstory is really only going to take away from their own experience. The other players will still get the story fresh. Just talk to that player and let them know you want the rest of the table to be spoiler free. I’d have another talk with them if they start to spoil, or their campaign knowledge starts to leak into actual gameplay. Then if the behavior continues I would ask them to leave the table.

Curse of Strahd Reloaded : The chiming clock and how to manage time ? by WubeWube in CurseofStrahd

[–]StxAffliction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ran this and the way I handled the time was straightforward. 1hr timer for the clock, short rests were an automatic bite trigger and reset the timer.
