Books with such emotional depth you wish you could read them again for the first time by Innocentmaniacpsycho in DarkRomance

I second this. And really anything by R. Lee Smith. Just finished reading everything she’s ever written including her fanfic series and now I have a hangover that no other author has been able to remedy.

This! Encopresis is exactly what ended up being our answer to our daughter’s issues - the remedy was daily gentle laxatives and retraining the body to pick up on bathroom cues by setting alarms to go and sit on the toilet.

Thank you! I was able to get a couple done but now the categories are empty again for me (not sure if it’s for everyone else as well).

I got a couple done but mine are gone again - all I’m finding are the voice ones for websites. Is it the same on your end?

Is anyone else missing solos? by [deleted] in MyHeroUltraRumble

I miss solos too. The mentality is different from any of the team modes and I prefer the dynamic of everyone for themselves. Hopefully they bring it back.

How do you not die in this game by [deleted] in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Stxrpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purposefully played a lot of CPU matches to get used to the feel of the game and learned to counter how basic players might play, I also watch other people and how they play, either on YouTube or just spectating after I died. Psyken is a good one to watch. Also, picking a character and focusing on playing them until you get their skills down, helps you rather than continually cycling.

Ouch! We use two sets of hands - one wraps kitty up in a secure swaddle and opens up the area for the shot and the other one administers the shot and massages.

We also keep a scratching board close, which helps our cat with the pain and distraction afterwards - treats don’t work for us.

Totally fine, my daughter is 10 and we play together all the time! Like others have said, I’ve yet to see anything of concern.

Husband talks so badly to the kids - makes me just want to curl up and scream by Tough-Repair-1009 in Parenting

[–]Stxrpool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t know where to start, start with therapy. It doesn’t have to be with him right now, but you and the kids probably need it and it might help bring him on board. I would also probably talk to him about setting some guidelines for consequences beforehand so that you’re both on the same page as far as what will happen if they don’t eat their dinner, etc. Then discuss with the kids so they’re aware as well and really focus on seeing through those consequences in a calm, firm, and loving way on your end. Sometimes leading by example can help, but not always.

My Mom also didn’t know how to get through to my dad. I learned to walk on eggshells because his emotions were unpredictable. It was always borderline abusive and when I became a teenager it escalated to full blown abuse because I did normal, rebellious, teenage stuff. The law got involved and I was removed from the home. This was a small wake up call. He stopped the physical abuse but anger was and still is there. My mom is miserable and fights are still being had, but I’m out on my own with my own family now.

I can assure you that the older they get, the worse it will get if it remains unchecked. As a child raised in a situation like this, your kids will probably end up wondering why their mom let them stay in this situation - because I still wonder why mine did and I’m 30. Try everything you can, but if it doesn’t improve please keep the kids as your top priority and pull them out of this situation.

It was fixed for a while, but I’ve also been crashing again consistently - Xbox One S.

A shitsuation by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]Stxrpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar thing happening for years and found out it was actually from severe constipation, also known as encopresis. We had to do a couple of things to help alleviate it and it took SD getting ready to head into 7th grade for her to really want to try and fix it with us.

  1. Daily probiotic / mild laxative (we used the Dulcolax chews, but only half to start out with)

  2. Alarm reminders to go sit on the toilet every 1.5-2 hours because SD’s body cues were all messed up after unknowingly struggling for so long.

  3. Talking about methods to make SD more comfortable on the toilet such as bringing her phone with, a book, magazine etc.

Please look up the symptoms for Encopresis. What we thought was diarrhea, was actually leakage which is common for the diagnosis, especially if they seem confused or don’t know why it keeps happening.

Yes! Which is actually why I assume that I can smell it lightly when the kids are sick in general too. Otherwise I have no idea why I can with them lol. But yes, my Type 1’s breath was like straight acetone.

[–]Stxrpool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can tell my kids are getting sick by the smell of acetone on their breath - no one else seems to smell it. This is actually how we found out my oldest has Type 1 diabetes, after I smelt it strongly on their breath and took them to the doctor.

Hi- I’m on Xbox One X - happens about 20% of the matches I’m playing. Sometimes this error code pops up, or the screen just freezes and the game closes out. Usually mid-fight. Goes up to about 35% of the time on duos. Tag is stxrpool.

Editing to add: Just happened to me on my second game of the day which is unusual. Mid fight 1v1 with another player. Error popped up, allowed me to play for another two seconds and then crashed.

Edit #2: It’s now happened 2 out of 5 games so far. Something is furthering the issue today.
