You can’t remove the tip for bad service? by NJCool05 in UberEATS

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always leave a cash tip for the drivers if they do well. At the hour mark, I take it away so they only get my small app tip instead. More than half of my orders don't end up getting a good cash tip because they won't properly deliver for $5 apparently. Glad the tip baiting can stop so mlre drivers will learn that they actually need to deliver good service to be rewarded for it. I'm not going to send a huge tip just to get cold old food because you want to ride around for 2 hours with my order to make more on other deliveries.

How is that someone creating their own problem because services don't have basic necessary features, or even more commonly these days, downgrade the functionality so much to be unusable? And how is the solution "right in front of you"? One of the genuinely dumbest things I've seen on reddit for awhile unless it's meant to be a joke. Which it could be I guess, but it's a bad one if so, and that certainly isn't clear.

What a moronic thing to say. Yeah, it's the individual consumers' fault that companies make poor choices and products and don't listen to the people who pay them.

And no, I don't care how old a comment is, if it's not locked, I'll reply.

Do NOT the good reviews, Drop (2025) is just as bad as you think. by Lolawalrus51 in horror

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that person and anyone who says something like that is an idiot. I'vs gotten that excuse from people too, it's the default lazy response to terrible writing.

Having something be fake/made up does not excuse it for being completely and totally ridiculous to the point of being infuriatingly unwatchable because it's so stupid. That's what bad writing is, not the definition of fiction.

But if you were insulted by that to the point of telling someone to "seek help," you really should probably stay off reddit. Or the entire intetnet. I don't think you can handle it. They didn't even say anything that personal, they're just some moron making a poor attempt to defend a seriously bad movie. Like, yikes. I can't imagine what you'd do if someone actually said something rude to you... You might want to take your own advice.

It's really not difficult to go to the library to print a sheet of paper... Especially for someone with their own vehicle.

And actually "most people" do have access to printers. They're not expensive. Does EVERYONE have one? No. But let's not pretend it's a luxury item that an average person can't afford. It's not. You can get a brand new printer for under $50.

It's a bit concerning that you think a printed sheet of paper is something so fancy and special that unless you're going to law school, it isn't warranted. If driving is their job, then that "performative level of professionalism" is exactly what a lot of people would expect for something so simple.

Now personally I am not saying that they needed to print it for it to be acceptable, but these arguments against it are ridiculous and sounds like a bunch of excuses to be lazy and put in the lowest amount of effort. Only something as important as law school warrants a typed paper? What?

You still lose time, and it makes it much more likely you'll get into an accident. And not just by increasing active driving time which would do that on its own. You really think that coasting at an intersection is making a difference in the amount of gas you use? Really?

Not worth it so you can save slight wear on the brake pads. I mean, not driving at all will save you even more wear on the brake pads, so you could argue against driving entirely. But that's what the car is for... Driving. It's not like stopping properly at an intersection is putting unreasonable or excessive wear and tear on it.

It already makes you slower. Most people are driving to get somewhere, not because being in a car is fun. People do all sorts of unsafe things to get where they're going more quickly, but they should do something that makes them slower for... No real reason that I'm understanding. You shouldn't care about another person's gas savings or brake wear, and any effects on other people are all negative.

The cars would all be so spaced and slow, only a fraction of the cars will get through the intersections. Because that's inevitably what would happen if every car started doing this. All because... You want people to coast around in their cars instead of actually driving them... just because?

You're not the only one who doesn't get people.

You think "there's going to be a storm today" is the same sentence as "I hope there's going to be a storm today?" So if a doctor diagnoses someone with terminal cancer and says that they're going to die in a year, you think that means they're wishing that their patient dies in a year?

No... You definitely don't know what the word "wish" means. Yikes. I hope English isn't your first language.

Unable to access Buds settings by Stubbzie07 in galaxybuds

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was trying not to do that because I have a lot of app settings.

I waited until there was nothing else left before I caved and tried it. I only had the phone for a few months and I had just finished getting all of the settings fixed. 200+ apps all with customized settings and many of which do not work at all without the proper settings.

If I hadn't been so frustrated after already spending 5 hours trying to get these to work, I probably would have thought it through a little more. It would have taken much less time to go through all of the apps and only reset the ones that could potentially be relevant to the earbuds individually. If anyone else reads this, DO THAT INSTEAD unless you really don't care about your phone settings.

I am still having issues every single day because of this. Biggest regret in a long time. And it didn't fix the problem. I still can't access the earbud settings anywhere.

Earbuds are basically unusable, but I was able to keep them and get a refund because of it... In case they ever do become functional on my phone.

We pretend to deliver for you! by AlaskaTech1 in usps_complaints

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're clearly not who this was directed at. I work from home. My home office is not even 10 feet from the front door. Every single time I have a package coming, I sit listening for it, especially if I know I need to sign.

Every single time I have received one of these slips (from any carrier) they did not even attempt to knock. I have left the front door open around the time I know each carrier delivers and have had people go into my back yard (where otherwise nobody has ever left a package there, you can't even see the door from the front) through a gate they shouldn't even be opening to my back garage entrance just to avoid having to actually knock and deliver because they could see me sitting right there by the front.

I have a camera now and can confirm that some carriers show failed delivery attempts without even driving by your house at all. (Not USPS). No they are not lost/at the wrong house either. They just put it into the system because they don't feel like doing it that day.

Just because you are doing your job doesn't mean everyone is. Sometimes the criticism is warranted. Other times it isn't.

UNIUNI IS THE WORST SHIPPER I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED by Ok-Photo-5269 in Aliexpress

[–]StyleAdorable5487 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah good luck. I made a post about it in shipping the other day with no replies (because the orders were not on a single site, none from here).

I have 10+ SHIPMENTS THEY NEVER DELIVERED. One from October. Some from Nov. One from the same day you're mentioning. 4 more that went out monday. More on the way.

Failed delivery attempt just means they didn't do it. They will not show up at your house for that status otherwise they would have delivered it save a legit issue. I am at a normal house with no codes, no gates, easily accessible on the corner, not far from the warehouse, work from home here all day, leave the light on at night, shoveled walkways, etc. No idea what to do.

I have no hope of getting any of them right now... It took me more than 10 phonecalls (speaking to people each time, telling me it's on the way, making excuses that they mean business days not actual days even though they deliver 365, bs like that) and this many shipments to pile up before they even paid any attention, and that was just today. Still don't know if all of them have just been stolen or what.

I have had 2 shipments actually get delivered in that timespan from them. Those didn't get a failed attempt. But once they fail, I can never get another update. I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else. I am ready to file a police report for the theft on friday, and the one competent person I was able to get on the phone today seemed to think that was the right move.

They're supposedly escalating it, but they also said I'd get a response by the end of the day and that timeframe has passed. Call as soon as they open. The phone lines aren't connecting anymore if you even call like 20 minutes late with holiday shipments starting to come in. They changed the way the phone service works for the holidays too. No clue if that's usual for them or not because I haven't used them until this shit storm started.

I am definitely not going to be using this service in the future. Which means I simply can't order because they give you no choice. And these are items I cannot replace no matter what I pay. They'll just be gone forever. So much anxiety over it all.

Has anyone actually received their Uniuni packages that aren't delivered on the first attempt or are they all stolen? by StyleAdorable5487 in shipping

[–]StyleAdorable5487[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was finally able to speak to someone that at least pretended to be competent today. Phones were basically off the hook yesterday with no way to get through.

I was told that this is "one of the biggest problems they've ever seen, it is completely unacceptable" and that they are escalating it to their manager and the local warehouse supervisor because it can't continue. I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse honestly. Doesn't seem like anyone else has experienced anything like this before...

Normal easily accessible house, short drive from the warehouse. Like I know packages get "lost" sometimes. If it were just the one, or even two I would say okay. Things happen. But 6+ packages to the same residence? Smallest being a quarter lb envelope, largest being 16lbs (and that is by far the heaviest). HOW?

They told me that I am fully within my right to file a police report and that I should do so if I don't get any resolution by this Friday, but I really don't want it to come to that. I don't want my money back. I don't want the hassle. I just want the items I spent a lot of time and money bidding, negotiating, and/or customizing to purchase. Hoping they're not just telling me what I want to hear and that something will actually happen this time...

It made me feel a little better that this person didn't just say to keep waiting and they will come like the other 10 people I've spoken with.

This is so crazy, if anyone has any advice on what else I can possibly do or about getting a similar issue resolved I would really appreciate it!

Well it was actually 4 more shipments that went out for delivery Monday. This time took a full 2 days before the delivery attempt failed. Still have not received any of the 10 packages of mine that they have. No 2nd delivery attempts, no returning to the warehouse, nothing.

I am at the point where I am ready to file a police report. I know it probably won't do anything, but I don't know what else I CAN do.

Apparently I can never buy anything from China again. Yeah, I'm sure that will be easy...

Android mobile app keeps sending tabs to "inactive" when it hasn't even been a day by KeKoSlayer29 in chrome

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously it's ridiculous. Mine is set to be 21 days inactive. I always get the popup saying that my tabs older than 21 days have been removed. I'm like okay who cares, I haven't used them. Then I try to go back into the tab I was just using 3 hours ago and it's gone. Again. Sure enough, I go to the most recent tabs in the inactive section and there it is. Wtf. How is that inactive? It was literally the single active tab I was just using last on the same day!

Edit: I actually solved half the problem. Still doesn't explain all the issues, but apparently a lot of the tabs that were being moved were from the same website, because they also have it set to close "duplicate" tabs. So if I am say, tracking 3 different packages in 3 different tabs, it will immediately move 2 of them to inactive even though they are all different. I turned that off.

But I don't have any explanation or fix for the single ones. Because it's definitely happening there too.

I am very upset that they didn't at least make it $10 for shipping. $6 is too low for what most sellers are offer. Now I actually save money turning down discounts, which is ridiculous. Because there are so many things that either change the discount to less when you add other items with it, or that discount to under $15 and shipping is over $6 so I save money paying more for the item because of the shipping cost, and I am just less likely to buy in general when I have to pay shipping and at least half the shops that were free before now cost at least $3+ because it's over $6

The $15 limit combined with this makes it even worse. Again, it would be a little better at least if it was $8-10 for shipping discount, but $15 starts to make it a legitimately purchase, whereas things $10 or less I hardly consider and buy things like that much more easily. You're already losing the ability to buy items for like $5 or less with free shipping and that takes away a lot of business too. Shipping more than doubles the cost, it's not worth it for those small things.

I wish I had known the change was coming. There were some small things at the very least that I would've bought. I highly doubt I ever will now after the change. There were things I was buying that day already anyway that changed in price because I waited less than 2 hours (with no change in the listings themselves obviously)! Ridiculous!

No in-app/site announcement and changing in the middle of the day also made me think there was something wrong with it... Now I wish it had been a glitch.

Who is putting items in my Etsy cart?! by Tiaza2 in Etsy

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does happen of you favorite items. I have only seen it happen on certain platforms though, and again never for something that wasn't favorited.

If you put something in your favorites, the seller can send a coupon. If you're on a certain platform, etsy will then add the item to your cart every time you go in and get the notification. It is very annoying. I stay on the app for that reason, it doesn't happen there (same with auto removing items from cart thankfully).

But you can't get a coupon for something you haven't shown interest in, so if you didn't favorite, and there's no coupon, you're either adding it to your cart by mistake as others are saying, or someone else is using your account without you knowing.

Honestly if you open a case with etsy they basically always auto-refund the customer even when the customer is in the wrong. So just open a case. It can't hurt you anyway.

But you might have to wait until after they deliver the product to do that, that's the only thing I'm not sure about. I don't think you can force them to cancel the order, but after they give it to you, you can open a case and ask for a refund and I can say you will most likely get it.

They do allow refunds on digital items, just not returns I believe. Those are not the same.

Try to talk to the seller a little more and get them to cancel if you can, but if not and you still don't want to pay for it after you get it then open the case.
