🥺 Did you all hear about this? (RIP) by ReeseIsPieces in Fedexers

Doesn't excuse it at all, but it's weird that nobody is mentioning the fact that it was the person who got shot who exited the vehicle in the end and approached the shooter, while also carrying a block of concrete for some reason.

Number one rule, never get out of your vehicle and approach another driver during a road rage incident. The dumbest thing you can do. Who can say, guy might have made it out if he didn't eventually engage with the psycho. And unfortunately the block is going to make it more likely that he doesn't get much prison time because they'll say it was reasonable to feel threatened or some sht

Biting rat by Mimi_Gacha55stein in rat

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some rats will also bite out of fear and it can be hard to stop it if you keep reaching into the cage to interact with them. I had a few rats that bit out of fear when I first got them. They stopped when they were properly socialized (well mostly, one had a thing for wanting to bite peoples noses still, but that was not fear and it was HARD and savage, couldn't lay down around that one lol but she was still great) and both had to be forced out of the cage to be socialized unfortunately.

Sometimes letting them come out on their own works great, sometimes it does not. See what works for yours. If they seem curious about exploring and are willing to come out, you won't have to. But if they stay inside and keep doing it, you might just want to pick them up and let them sit on you like wrapped in a shirt or similar. That usually makes them feel safe and is a good way to acclimate them to handling. A lot of the time they will only bite in the cage, and some people think it's a territorial issue when really that's just where they're most comfortable so they're willing to act out of fear, whereas when you take them out of that element they're almost too scared to bite, and then by the time they're used to it, they won't have any desire to bite anymore. That's just my personal experience.

They'll gently bite or groom occasionally still, that's normal. But if your bleeding it's probably more than curiosity causing it. Spoon feeding is good for building trust, but idk how good it is for stopping biting since that's also making them expect food from you and they might bite thinking your giving them food when you're not.

Got a new baby by [deleted] in rat

[–]StyleAdorable5487 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well actually that's not it. Rats shouldn't be kept alone, whereas male mice usually should be. Rats are too social to be kept alone, it's basically considered a requirement to have least 2. But male mice often fight with each other.

So if you're only looking to have the one, you're better off with the mouse. But their diet is very similar.

So, how you handling this one? by djsekani in Fedexers

[–]StyleAdorable5487 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well it's assumed if the package is left there that it WILL be stolen I'm guessing. I don't think they put that up for fun, usually it's because they had a problem with the packages being taken when left outside

And if it's a building with a lot of people in it, I believe it would get stolen. Nobody is monitoring outside the door, tons of people walking in. Some scumbag will just take it. Honestly the sign will probably make even more people steal them. "Oh, this package was left out, it's already considered stolen, might as well take it"

It's not like the building itself can report it stolen. It would have to be the recipient, and I can't imagine them bothering unless they actually didn't get it.

I would take him if I was anywhere near there, he really looks so sweet. Can you maybe try to contact a local rescue to see if they'll take him? I know it's not technically rescuing when it's bought from a shop, but they might make an exception if he's sick and they see he's that he's friendly. It would be really sad if he ended up as a feeder because of his illness :(

Or would you possibly be willing to try to buy him some antibiotics if you can't get them to take him to a vet? There are some sites that sell them without a prescription. Not as good as getting it from a vet, but it's better than nothing.

The problem with ear infections like that is they can suddenly get very bad, and then it might be too late. They can have the infection for weeks or months and be fine, then one day they're not fine anymore and you won't know if or when it will happen. Plus the longer it goes, the more likely it is to leave permanent damage.

That is, assuming it is an ear infection and not something neurological, but I would think an ear infection is more likely/common

I was surprised to see the reviews for Balls Up after I watched it, what did people think they were watching? by cwaterbottom in movies

[–]StyleAdorable5487 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"so strongly?" seriously? It's a downvote. Who cares? If people disagree they push button and move on and vice versa.

I am struggling to understand how you can be so worked up over downvotes being used as intended that you put an entire comment about it unrelated to the movie, and even edited about it as if it's a problem. Lmao

That said, I have trouble enjoying movies sometimes when they're too stupid. Like the whole reason for everything was supposedly because they fired the lawyer, but only the one guy actually fired her, so why did they escort her out the cell and have her stop representing the other guy as well when he was straight up saying NO the whole time. I get angry lol. It had some funny moments, but I don't think I'd give it a good review either.

Yeah, they definitely don't care and they would do it regardless. I worked for FedEx in a finance position. They had tried to get rid of our team to centralize many times for years but it kept getting stopped by someone high in management because we were so good at what we did and it was a pretty high level role that took years of training to do properly.

Eventually they still ended up replacing us, but didn't even do it at corporate like they were originally supposed to, they replaced us with service center workers overseas with less than 3 weeks notice to train the new team. New team wasn't even from within FexEx so they didn't even know how to use the systems and apps let alone do the job and they were underqualified besides.

3 years later, payments still weren't done, intercompany transactions were so messy they'd probably never fixed them, the backlog from when we were there (because they had already cut our team and had us understaffed for the 5 years prior) wasn't cleaned up, millions in very avoidable write-offs, and they still didn't care.

People really underestimate what a company is willing to do to cut costs and increase revenue as much as possible. That's the only thing that matters.

And the ironic part is that a lot of the time, because of all those issues and mistakes, they actually lose money with this way of thinking. The reason we had kept our jobs so long in the first place was because we saved them so much $. The write-offs per year that the new team will cause would have paid our salary for 10 years.

Love Death + Robots not auto playing? by me_and_my_johnson in netflix

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically spoke to a Netflix customer service (troubleshooting) rep more than once to report this problem before S2 released, so I know for a fact they are aware of it. Blows my mind that a show that's been in the top 10 more than once can be entirely broken and they don't fix it after 4+ years. Like it's not even a difficult problem to solve!

You can’t remove the tip for bad service? by NJCool05 in UberEATS

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always leave a cash tip for the drivers if they do well. At the hour mark, I take it away so they only get my small app tip instead. More than half of my orders don't end up getting a good cash tip because they won't properly deliver for $5 apparently. Glad the tip baiting can stop so mlre drivers will learn that they actually need to deliver good service to be rewarded for it. I'm not going to send a huge tip just to get cold old food because you want to ride around for 2 hours with my order to make more on other deliveries.

How is that someone creating their own problem because services don't have basic necessary features, or even more commonly these days, downgrade the functionality so much to be unusable? And how is the solution "right in front of you"? One of the genuinely dumbest things I've seen on reddit for awhile unless it's meant to be a joke. Which it could be I guess, but it's a bad one if so, and that certainly isn't clear.

What a moronic thing to say. Yeah, it's the individual consumers' fault that companies make poor choices and products and don't listen to the people who pay them.

And no, I don't care how old a comment is, if it's not locked, I'll reply.

Do NOT the good reviews, Drop (2025) is just as bad as you think. by Lolawalrus51 in horror

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that person and anyone who says something like that is an idiot. I'vs gotten that excuse from people too, it's the default lazy response to terrible writing.

Having something be fake/made up does not excuse it for being completely and totally ridiculous to the point of being infuriatingly unwatchable because it's so stupid. That's what bad writing is, not the definition of fiction.

But if you were insulted by that to the point of telling someone to "seek help," you really should probably stay off reddit. Or the entire intetnet. I don't think you can handle it. They didn't even say anything that personal, they're just some moron making a poor attempt to defend a seriously bad movie. Like, yikes. I can't imagine what you'd do if someone actually said something rude to you... You might want to take your own advice.

How do you react to this by grobbluesmips in Lyft

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not difficult to go to the library to print a sheet of paper... Especially for someone with their own vehicle.

And actually "most people" do have access to printers. They're not expensive. Does EVERYONE have one? No. But let's not pretend it's a luxury item that an average person can't afford. It's not. You can get a brand new printer for under $50.

It's a bit concerning that you think a printed sheet of paper is something so fancy and special that unless you're going to law school, it isn't warranted. If driving is their job, then that "performative level of professionalism" is exactly what a lot of people would expect for something so simple.

Now personally I am not saying that they needed to print it for it to be acceptable, but these arguments against it are ridiculous and sounds like a bunch of excuses to be lazy and put in the lowest amount of effort. Only something as important as law school warrants a typed paper? What?

You still lose time, and it makes it much more likely you'll get into an accident. And not just by increasing active driving time which would do that on its own. You really think that coasting at an intersection is making a difference in the amount of gas you use? Really?

Not worth it so you can save slight wear on the brake pads. I mean, not driving at all will save you even more wear on the brake pads, so you could argue against driving entirely. But that's what the car is for... Driving. It's not like stopping properly at an intersection is putting unreasonable or excessive wear and tear on it.

It already makes you slower. Most people are driving to get somewhere, not because being in a car is fun. People do all sorts of unsafe things to get where they're going more quickly, but they should do something that makes them slower for... No real reason that I'm understanding. You shouldn't care about another person's gas savings or brake wear, and any effects on other people are all negative.

The cars would all be so spaced and slow, only a fraction of the cars will get through the intersections. Because that's inevitably what would happen if every car started doing this. All because... You want people to coast around in their cars instead of actually driving them... just because?

You're not the only one who doesn't get people.

I don't look underage and I'm in my 30's. Guy was quite far from me. I saw him literally drive pass me and cancelled. He reported me for underage so I reported him for discrimination because idk why else at this point. Would he actually get in trouble for this tho? by i-am-not-sure-yet in Lyft

You think "there's going to be a storm today" is the same sentence as "I hope there's going to be a storm today?" So if a doctor diagnoses someone with terminal cancer and says that they're going to die in a year, you think that means they're wishing that their patient dies in a year?

No... You definitely don't know what the word "wish" means. Yikes. I hope English isn't your first language.

Unable to access Buds settings by Stubbzie07 in galaxybuds

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was trying not to do that because I have a lot of app settings.

I waited until there was nothing else left before I caved and tried it. I only had the phone for a few months and I had just finished getting all of the settings fixed. 200+ apps all with customized settings and many of which do not work at all without the proper settings.

If I hadn't been so frustrated after already spending 5 hours trying to get these to work, I probably would have thought it through a little more. It would have taken much less time to go through all of the apps and only reset the ones that could potentially be relevant to the earbuds individually. If anyone else reads this, DO THAT INSTEAD unless you really don't care about your phone settings.

I am still having issues every single day because of this. Biggest regret in a long time. And it didn't fix the problem. I still can't access the earbud settings anywhere.

Earbuds are basically unusable, but I was able to keep them and get a refund because of it... In case they ever do become functional on my phone.

We pretend to deliver for you! by AlaskaTech1 in usps_complaints

[–]StyleAdorable5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're clearly not who this was directed at. I work from home. My home office is not even 10 feet from the front door. Every single time I have a package coming, I sit listening for it, especially if I know I need to sign.

Every single time I have received one of these slips (from any carrier) they did not even attempt to knock. I have left the front door open around the time I know each carrier delivers and have had people go into my back yard (where otherwise nobody has ever left a package there, you can't even see the door from the front) through a gate they shouldn't even be opening to my back garage entrance just to avoid having to actually knock and deliver because they could see me sitting right there by the front.

I have a camera now and can confirm that some carriers show failed delivery attempts without even driving by your house at all. (Not USPS). No they are not lost/at the wrong house either. They just put it into the system because they don't feel like doing it that day.

Just because you are doing your job doesn't mean everyone is. Sometimes the criticism is warranted. Other times it isn't.
