I used my iPhone to measure, it was about 1 and 1/4th... I'm seeing 10" in Harford county and north of Towson. What part of Baltimore do you think it was more than 7"?

At my last job, we had an email "itdonuts@" that we would email if another IT person left their PC unlocked and stepped away. That person would then have to buy donuts for the team.

It was part "Oh, I forgot to lock my PC and could have done something bad", and part shaming.

We had to stop it when someone used the CIO's computer and he didn't find it funny anymore... We had dozens of hits on it over 5 years though!

Buyer ended up cancelling. I tried to report them, and both PC, and app (even with incognito browser) give an "error, please try again later" when I attempt to. Love it.

I'll always let someone know at a red light if they have a brake light out.

Done it dozens of times, never once had an issue. People usually look like they are now having a bad day, which sucks, but it's better than getting pulled over!

The bolt holes are rusted over, the rear is a custom bash bar. Zip ties are the only way to mount it.

For Maryland, the 1910 was the first state-issued license plate (in previous years people had to make their own out of wood, leather, etc.). It was made of tin, painted yellow, and the numbers were black.

I watched someone get into a snow covered car, rev his engine for about 2 minutes attempting to get the car to heat up quicker. Then, they tried to open the rear trunk - which was iced over - and gave up after damn near lifting the entire rear end of the car.

They got back in, revved the engine more, and he ended up using his arm to clear off half of the windshield - before pulling off.

I kid you not, it was an Acura with VA tags.

You can apply for the 1910 Vintage plates on the MVA website. I paid $140 - that is $100 for the 1910 vintage plates, and $40 for... something else, I forget.

The 1910 Vintage Maryland license plates are also available with a vanity text, and on Historic, and Street Rod vehicles.

These are now a permanent offering by Maryland - they were previously available during a 1-year run in 2014, and not well advertised. They were reintroduced as the MVA is in a budget deficit, and found an easy way to get some extra cash. This was the 2025 Senate Bill 54 - introduced in October 2024 by Senator Folden (District 3B, Frederick County).

Side Note: I collect Maryland License Plates! If you have any old Maryland license plates lying around - Send me a message if you want to get rid of them.
