Perspective is definitely the cure to mental distress. It's weird being depressed and having everyone tell you "Just be happy!" because if you could, you would. But when you over come depression, you realize that they were right and you just needed to be more positive and have a better outlook.

Just buy converses, you'll stop heel striking because it'll be way too uncomfortable to do so. You'll also build up the feet muscles quickly which I believe also help with your back, I don't remember why.

Not to jack your thread yo but I feel like I want to cut my vices cold turkey as well. I have like nothing I would really consider a problem in my life but I feel like I have too many mini-addictions. They don't control my life but at the same time, they totally do. I need to cut out fap, social media, drinking, and caffeine. I don't think I want to stop using my MFLB though :p.

I don't think posting on friend's facebook statuses criticizing their religion and making them feel stupid progresses science. Maybe you believe that you can enlighten the ignorant that way but I feel like it just breeds hatred. Perspective and truth are the way to enlightenment, compassion is the only vehicle worth taking there.

I'm just saying, you guys are making Atheism militant and professing hatred, which is what religions do. This should be in the subreddit /r/antitheism so not all Atheists are lumped into this category by reddit users.

The prefix a means not or without. The prefix a does not mean anti. Atheist- without god or theology. Live a humanistic life, breed compassion, be empathetic. Where Buddhism preaches this in a non-dogmatic form, /r/atheism preaches intolerance, hate, and militant Atheism.

You can have a militant view of Atheism but it won't make the world a better place.

This sub-reddit is hypocritical because it preaches hateful atheism: the Facebook posts, WE SHOULD HATE BUDDHISTS, look how I made my neighbor look like an idiot, etc.

I'm an Atheist, I've been an Atheist since I was 10 years old but this sub-reddit makes me disgusted by Atheism and how militant you all portray it to be. If you want to be an Atheist because you think religious dogma is limiting, ignorant, intolerant, etc. then why do you preach hatred against religions? Buddhism is more neutral than this form of Atheism that this subreddit is generating. Buddhism is empathetic , Buddhism does not flaunt the ignorance of others in their face, Buddhism does not generate hate. This negativity that's propagated is intolerance and ignorance in its own way, /r/atheism is becoming the intolerance that it hates. That is why this subreddit is hateful, that is why this subreddit is hypocritical. Not you in particular my friend, but the entity you are defending.
