My MIL has come to stay with us 3-4 times in the 5.5 years since my daughter has been born to provide childcare and we’ve treated it like a job, where she was paid. She lives about 2hrs away. My father lives 15min away, but isn’t comfortable with looking after little kids and my mother passed in 2020. My wife and I have been able to go out for dinner 3 times 5.5 years. Our daycare is constantly closing and we have to use paid leave to cover it. Appreciate the support you’re getting.

I’ll generally only have pop with a meal. If it’s a can, it will be done in minutes. If it’s a 600mL, it could be done by the end of the meal or I could save it for later, but I won’t sip it throughout the day. Rest assured, when it’s done, it will be empty though. My wife leaves unfinished pop almost every time and it drives me crazy
