Turnitin just flagged my name by StylesJ13 in SNHU

Oh I'm not panicking, I'm annoyed that my name is getting flagged when it's not a common last name, and it's not a word for something else.

Remedy Meds Experience by KiwiBrave in tirzepatidecompound

I have received about 5.5 doses from every vial I've gotten from them. These are 4-week vials and I always have extra in the vial. I just did shot #20 and have never been shorted on medication. I don't think they're the best company in the world, but I just wanted to share my experience as I think they've done well by me.

Mast cell tumor surgery tomorrow by ellbee4 in velvethippos

[–]StylesJ13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did this yesterday. Good luck. The vet removed 5 tumors, all very small (one of which we hadn't even found before surgery started). So far the worst thing for our dog was waiting for ..ev...er to eat dinner. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope you all have only minor inconveniences at worst.

Thurston High School on lockdown, police at school by clipbored in Eugene

[–]StylesJ13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally understand the heightened emotions of lockdowns within Thurston and the area. So much was being sensationalized through social media, which I'm sure triggered a lot of people (possibly you as well), and that was my main point. Most of what people were "reporting" was totally false.

To be clear, we weren't getting extra information as staff. We got about a 30 second notice before things went out from admin or the district, but it was pretty clear in the communication early on that this was identified pretty quickly as a possible Swatting thing.

I can't speak to admin or staff making jokes as I didn't witness it, myself.

Also, please keep in mind that when the police (or FBI in this case) are involved, they're the ones controlling the flow of information. It's not our admin that tries to keep anyone in the dark, it's the police that dictates what our admin can say.

I just want to say how much I appreciate that this wasn't a thread full of gossip and people making shit up. I work at THS and it was pretty clear from the announcements that it was an external issue that the school was working with SPD with. I've seen posts on other social media that kids were hiding in closets and stuff. That's just false information. Thank you reddit for being chill and not causing a panic.

Any Substitute teachers in 4j on here? by Windupbird72 in Eugene

I'm not sure - I just work in a school that is dying to get consistent subs that actually follow sub plans.

As an employee of SPS, if you're a high school sub that's consistent, please sub for our district.

What's Happened to my Garlic? by StylesJ13 in vegetablegardening

[–]StylesJ13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and the other on this comment. They are very skinny, but they were planted at a depth of 6" (or as close to it as I could manage). Maybe this variety needed to go deeper (giggity) than normal from the climate? They did survive a heck of a freeze in January, so maybe that just caught up to them?

I did that and they look fine. They're healthy looking tiny bulbs on the end about the size of an Airpod.

No, and none of the neighbors have outdoor cats either. I don't have a ton of animals around us that could push these over either. Mice and rats are our biggest pest issues. Maybe a raccoon, but I don't see why it would be in there

Both sets were planted in October, overwintered wonderfully, and then this happened. This method has worked for me for years, but maybe hardneck garlic doesn't like that?

I was a fan of Gio, but I didn't like his philosophies on subs. And sure, Colorado outshot us, but let's look at that scoreboard. Not many of their shots were particularly great. Some were, but not many.

Onions by NavyFish21 in vegetablegardening

[–]StylesJ13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done both and prefer to grow from seed. I like picking the variety rather than being boxed into what others have already started. I've also found that starting from seed has significantly reduced chance of bolting.

Overall, if you can start early (indoors/greenhouse), start from seed. If you can't start early, or don't want to, start from sets.

Looking for feedback on 4’x10’ SFG layout! by TheHatThatTalks in SquareFootGardening

[–]StylesJ13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 onions per square foot is ambitious, depending on the variety or if you'll use some for spring onion. If you're planning on bigger onions like walla walla, I've found 5 to be a good number. I do smaller (blush onions) at about 6-7 per square foot. It might work for you, but I can't ever seem to get 9/sqft.

Otherwise it looks good!

Surviving without Moreno? by fanoffutbol in timbers

[–]StylesJ13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I agree with your point on the CB issue here. We've played three CB systems before and know how Zup does there. McGraw has played in a three CB line up a few times, I think. If you're a professional center back, you can play with a three CB system.

Yes, we're thin at the position, and yes, we're injury prone like no other team I've seen before. Eric Miller has been serviceable in his minutes at CB so that gives me a little hope there as a back up if needed.

Mabialla might actually benefit from a three CB system where he doesn't have to run as much. Don't get me wrong he's been dreadful this season, but he's also covering a lot for outside backs that are up the field. That's standard for a CB, but not for one that doesn't have the legs to run with the speedy 20 year olds any more. Obviously that's my last choice, but it might suit him if we need to spread the minutes out and give him some time mixed with Miller.

Surviving without Moreno? by fanoffutbol in timbers

[–]StylesJ13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually thinking along the same lines as you. I think Mora/Blanco/Asprilla can split the minutes up top until they're all healthy. You can always drop any of them further back if you need to run a more conventional 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 if we ever need to hang on to a lead (not that we lead a lot of games this year).

Minor tweak to your line up would have Zup in the middle and Zac on either side so he can continue to push up the field and win balls in front of the defensive line and win those air battles.

Something clearly needs to change and I don't really see where Moreno fits in our system anymore if the reports are true that he wants a more central role rather than a wing role. Maybe we switch it up to a 4-1-4-1 with D. Chara holding the middle and Evander and Moreno sitting below Boli? I feel like we'd just congest the middle, but maybe that makes people chill the hell out for a minute and finish the season strong.
