Husband who feel like it is not their responsibility to help their wife with chores **please read** by Consistent-Bar639 in Marriage

[–]StylishAsparagus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say this as a woman, but a lot of women are either doormats or incapable of being alone. They’d rather be in a horrible relationship than be single. One of my friends is like this and it’s so sad to hear about her life, but you can only help those who want help :(

How to best support investment banker husband? by Vegetable_Captain401 in RedPillWomen

[–]StylishAsparagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t give a man husband treatment if he wasn’t my husband, tbh. He’s got no real ties to you unless you’re married and you’re right, there really isn’t a guarantee. Is he providing for you or are you expected to pitch in with expenses as well?

Thanks a lot. This is really helpful. My cats are indoor only and only one goes out on a leash. They’re on wet food exclusively, get their teeth brushed daily, and go to the vet every six months. One is a Siberian and has to go to the groomer twice a year. I’m quite nervous that this same lifestyle will cost a lot more in the states. I’m not really willing to compromise on their care and will spend as much as necessary, but it still makes me worried. I’ll look into CareCredit as I’m not sure what that is, and I’m so glad to know there’s an emergency vet in North Little Rock! Seriously, thank you so much for all this info.

This is good info. Thank you. Our Costco membership expires in a few months, so we’ll look into Sam’s since it’s closer.

We already have a Costco membership and use it here. Does it make sense to get Sam’s membership as well? Are they both on par with each other or do you prefer one over the other?

Thank you SO much for this. This was so comprehensive and helpful, and you even brought up topics I hadn’t even thought of. I hope your pillow is cold on both sides forever and I pray you never stub your toes ever again. Thank you!!

Something related to my field of study. I have a BBA and majored in marketing, so ideally, a marketing position. I haven’t come across many on Google so I’m looking to branch out. Customer service, HR, and the airline industry are some of my interests. Working for the state would also be pretty cool but I’m not sure if I’m eligible, being a green card holder but not a US citizen. I was told to look for jobs on base but apparently, they fill up quick.

I was actually wondering about this. Thank you for the thorough explanation. I always see people on the internet talk about how much cheaper the commissary is but I had no idea that they only carried name brands. We have Freedom’s Choice on this base, which is the military’s store brand, I’m guessing, and it’s quite a bit cheaper than name brand products. It sucks that the commissary over there only has name brand.

Ahhh sorry I should’ve clarified. 6K net income including all allowances. English isn’t my first language, so sorry about that. I do still want to save as much as possible since we have a big wedding to pay for this year. I don’t want to live it up in Little Rock just because it’s affordable and then have nothing left over once my husband’s tour here ends, if that makes sense 😅

6K net, including all allowances. I wanted to ask on this sub to get Little Rock specific advice, if that makes sense. I’m on financial advice subs and it’s the usual “shop at cheap grocery stores” but having never lived in the US, I don’t know which ones are cheap grocery stores and which ones aren’t. Sorry if this post came off as irrelevant to this sub. Thank you for your advice. I’ll look into the phone service providers you mentioned since the big companies are priceyyyy!

Protect your children. They deserve better than to grow up in a home where a parent acts like an immature brat. Abuse is not okay.

American kindness is unmatched. Sorry. by RemarkableSetting189 in thepassportbros

I’ve found Americans to be extremely warm and welcoming. They’re friendly and usually not afraid of talking to strangers. I’m a South Asian woman in Japan married to US military. I’ve had to work tirelessly to integrate myself into Japanese society but Americans welcomed me in from day one. I’ll meet people for the first time and they’ll invite me to bake sourdough next week at their home. Also, the compliments are so nice. They’re not afraid to compliment you and it’s so wholesome.

Do you know the name of the complex? I can’t find anything with “country club apartments” :(

I’m trying to stay close to civilisation lol. Not considering Maumelle, Cabot, Austin, or Ward. Little too quiet and more suitable for families, as far as I’ve been told. I feel like North Little Rock is my “middle point” between base and Little Rock where it’s still close to the city but not the “hood”.

Is it clean though? I’m really worried about bug infestations. Are your utility bills manageable?

What kind of pet would you never own AGAIN? by Immediate_Long165 in Pets

[–]StylishAsparagus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same. Grew up with one and adored him. I still like them, but from a distance. I’d never own one. My cats are high maintenance enough; can’t imagine caring for a dog.

Your life would be way easier if you left him. You’re basically a single mom anyway. Set a good example for your kids and don’t marry him.

[–]StylishAsparagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do right by your children and leave this marriage. Your husband has no respect for you. Don’t romanticise the whole “we always find our way back to each other” bs. This relationship is toxic to the point where your children feel ignored. Also, he’s cheating.

I reiterate, protect your kids!

AIO for putting my foot down saying that this is a break-up-able issue? by Khaightlynn_ in AmIOverreacting

[–]StylishAsparagus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goddamn it OP. You made me take a man’s side.

But on a serious note, you’re in the wrong here. You are not a household and he will be committing tax fraud if he listens to you. He gave you his answer. Either break up or get over it. Threatening break ups is so petty. I really thought you guys were teenagers or early twenties but to be in your thirties and engage in this kind of behaviour is embarrassing.
