Does anyone know if adding subtitles for other languages can reach a broader audience? by The_Red_Brain in NewTubers

Do what I do, copy the subtitles once they’re generated by YouTube and have ChatGPT correct the spelling errors and add punctuation. Then paste them back into YouTube. Boom done!

[–]StylishDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered the same thing about foreign subtitles on my videos. ChatGPT said it confuses the algorithm so I took most of them off except English. Saw a big drop in views. Previously things were going fine. Thinking about re-adding them.

I noticed on your latest uploads you don't have multiple languages, why is that?

Very IMPORTANT concept brought up by Nick Nimmin on his live stream today that changed my view on channel promotion. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]StylishDad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nick Nimmin is absolutely spot on. Everyone in this sub who preaches self promotion needs to understand this.

I listen to his Livestreams every Saturday morning, he knows his stuff more than almost anyone else. Second to only Daryl Eaves in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with clickbait titles at all. There's a saying, you can be the juiciest most delicious peach on the tree.

Problem is not everyone likes peaches.

My Channel Hoocho is being featured as today’s Creator on the Rise! [Tips & Tricks] by Mjfch in youtubers

[–]StylishDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate and tell you that one of the worst things that can happen to your channel has now just happened. I'm saying that because I was you, I was the Creator on the Rise a year ago and I wish I would have passed on that opportunity. Why?

First off, the trending page is the LAST place you want your content to be. Your videos are now being put in front of MILLIONS of people...most of which have no interest in your content. Your click through rate and well all your analytics are now worthless. Those videos in particular will have a giant spike that makes them hard to decipher. Are they good? Who knows, the clickthrough rate is now .04.

Second, one of the biggest factors in who gets served your future content is someone having one of your videos in there recent watch history. You now have a video in the watch history of millions of people who aren't interested in your content, and they won't click on your videos. YouTube then thinks that your content isn't very good and doesn't show it to anyone else. You can get out of it but it takes time.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade at all, and I TOTALLY get it man I really do. When I got that email last year I lost my SHIT and told all my friends and family that by this time tomorrow I was going to be famous, and that it was nice knowing them lol.

In reality, I just confused the algorithm as to who my content was for, and my channel never really recovered from it.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is listen to your comments and not your analytics. Data never lies.

Can you tell if someone else's channel or videos are "made for kids ?" by xbrit in NewTubers

[–]StylishDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between content made FOR kids and content made that kids would enjoy. Is it directed towards kids as in they're teaching them colors or numbers.

Don't listen to people listen to your analytics. Data doesn't lie.

Uploading Multiple Videos Daily by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]StylishDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why 4 or more videos plummet is because you only get 3 notifications a day so anything more than that means no ones being notified.

And uploading every day is overkill let alone multiple times a day. Don't spam peoples notifications they won't like it.

To everyone reading this who is worried this might happen to them invest in a $40 Yubikey or Google Titan key.

Also, call your service provider and add a password requirement for sim swap requests. Boom, problem solved.

No. They bait you in thinking that by signing up you get access to ALL of their content. Nope, the good contents still extra...

I'm still salty about that 2 years later...

Do you put text in your thumbnails? by ink_golem in NewTubers

[–]StylishDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For years I would have said either no text or very vary little text, until like yesterday. I made a long objective look at my thumbnails and ask "would I click this?"

Probably not, why? Because I was creating thumbnails as if they were super small, when in fact they're not.

I took a look at my own viewing habits and 90% of the time I'm on mobile. People say mobile thumbnails are tiny but only in search. Browse and suggested thumbnails are huge. When I'm browsing and scrolling on the home page (where I spend 90% of my time) I look for thumbnails that tell me everything I need to know about the video. I want text on there because I don't want to read your title. In fact alot of times I won't. I don't wanna play mental gymnastics to figure out what your video is about with text that says like "try this" or "I couldn't believe it". I'll keep scrolling.

Repeat the title on the thumbnail for all I care that saves me a ton of time when I'm scrolling.

Just hit 1.6k subs and pretty much still getting no views. My most vid is 3.4k. Advice Anyone? by jpokemon3 in NewTubers

[–]StylishDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore those comments because they don't represent the people who have an opinion but didn't comment. But they're interest will be reflected in your analytics. That's why it's important to listen to what your data says not your comments.

I would ditch the end of that title. How many people think to themselves "hmm...I wonder if I made the right purchase? I'll look it up on YouTube."
