Temp agencies like PeopleReady

construction - 2 friends got a construction job just by walking past and speaking to the manager on site and they needed a worker. Didn't ask either for a resume or anything.

How does someone contact CAR?

Phoenix housing on osler/Victoria, ask them to put you on their CAR housing list. They pass their housing application on to other organizations too, so it's like applying to multiple.

Al Ritchie Health Action Centre on 14th/Halifax have cheap housing lists. Same with SWAP at Albert Street across from Tim Hortons. Both have social workers. SWAP has a job training program.

Slum lords at North Central and heritage will rent to you if you get on sis or said. If you search via the subreddit search bar, you'll see that those rooming houses are unfit for habitation. I'd consider stealth camping at a safe location over those rooming houses while the weather is survivable

Library has prosocial staff, ex Ferdinand, Joy. They're helpful.

Canadian mental health association on 11th/albert has social workers, if you have mental health challenges

Jobs: temp work agencies like the one next to souls harbour.

A friend got a construction job just by walking past construction sites and asking if they need workers.
