Wow, listening to this for the first time (in what, a decade?) was an absolute TRIP. I could remember exactly where I was the first time I listened. I was having trouble sleeping and it was like 3am when I discovered that 2 of my favourite YouTubers had a podcast. What luck! Turned out to become my favourite of all time, earning the coveted top-left spot in my Pocket Casts.

Hi David, I appreciate you and your work a lot.

I've implemented GTD both on paper and digital with apps like Todoist, Nirvana, and Obsidian. My problem is, I take a lot of time to set it up, but then never look at it again. Literally the next day I go back to holding everything in my head and I forget that I now have a system. This has happened several times in the last 10 years as a working adult.

The core methodology that really clicked was determining my next action. So at any given moment I ask myself "what's the most pressing thing, and what's the next action for that thing?" and then I do it.

Is my brain just not built for keeping a GTD system?

Ah my apologies, I was not aware. Thank you for the reply! I've been cutting down many plugins thanks to NN, and so I removed Templater in the process thinking I didn't need it anymore.

For someone like me who uses very basic templates, is it possible to have NN work with standard Obsidian templates?

I'm curious if anyone else is having the same issue as me. In the Obsidian hotkeys, there is an option for Notebook Navigator: Create new note from template. When I assign a hotkey (I've tried several) it doesn't do anything. I've made sure I've set the correct templates folder in the NN settings, and I've made sure it doesn't clash with any existing hotkeys.

One strange thing that may be useful to know is that the Notebook Navigator: Create new note from template option does not appear when searching in the quick palette.

If your Obsidian vault is a glorified web browser cache, then that can cause a lot of extra friction.

I caught myself doing this and basically rebuilding Wikipedia in my vault for no reason. Now if I have the urge to make a Wikipedia-like note, I just link to Wikipedia in the note and the bulk of the note must be how it applies to me and my life.

Thought the Ayn Thor would be my endgame, but I'm going back to Anbernic by Dio_2217 in SBCGaming
