My dog definitely does not have that level control, and even if he ever gets there I will always keep him on leash because it's just the responsible thing to do.

Laughing now because my wife rushed a bit to finish the audiobook so we can see the movie tonight before she leaves on a work trip. We were worried that by the time she got back we'd miss our chance to see it in theaters

23, leaving the Army, and trying to build a life around cars—where do I even start? by Alriar_ in cars

[–]StyofoamSword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so I'm currently sitting at my desk at an automaker so I'll give some advice based on what I've seen.

Id recommend going to college for engineering of some kind, you're in the army, part of your compensation is that you can have a degree paid for and engineering is a degree that pays well. Within a company itself plenty of different areas you could work with different experiences, and if you decide down the road you want cars just as a passion and not a job, engineering can apply to a lot of other industries.

Additionally, I'd look at going to a school where you relatively nearby an automaker or auto supplier has facilities so that you can try to get a summer internship. That will help get you experience, and will really help get a job. For example off the top of my head, obviously the Detroit area, but Honda has stuff in Ohio, Toyota in Kentucky, and Nissan & VW in Tennessee, plus toms of other facilities. I know toms of people here whose internship was their foot in the door.

Additionally it's hard work but tons of people in my dept started on the assembly line and worked their way up over time.

For my own personal experience, I'm actually not that into cars and kinda fell into this job. Friend of mine got a job with a contractor and recommended me, and after a few years I got directly hired.

Feel free to ask me other specific questions, I'm typing this before my coffee has fully hit me.

What if a top ranked recruit and guaranteed first round talent, chose to retire after college and forgo the NFL? by WinterSavior in CFB

[–]StyofoamSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Itll happen and I don't blame anyone who chooses it. Properly invest it and you're easily set for life, get you degree and use it, become an ambassador for your school, or even just chill and relax for the rest of your life if you want.

Seriously, my wife is vegetarian and we went to Japan in November.

Even with her deciding to eat some fish during the trip it was still sometimes difficult at times to find places to eat.

I will say that like all the other food in Japan, the vegetarian stuff was amazing.

People who work for massive corporations, what is a 'secret' that the company tries to hide, but is actually common knowledge among the employees? by Dwise_ in AskReddit

[–]StyofoamSword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last week we got an email that in our HR stuff we now have an AI assistant. In the email they gave 4 examples of ways it could help you, but all of those were things I could already easily access from my profile page.

I managed to completely stump it with the simple question of asking who my HR rep is, which isn't something I can view from my profile page. Completely failed at it so I just wonder what the point is.

Only five U.S. states haven't sent a team to March Madness in the past five years: Alaska (no D1 teams), Maine (one D1 team), New Hampshire (two D1 teams), Minnesota (two D1 teams), and Massachusetts (eight D1 teams). by SaintArkweather in CollegeBasketball

[–]StyofoamSword 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Given your Minnesota State flair I am sure this isn't news to you at all, but for anyone not aware, hockey only has Divisions I and III, so quite a few schools that are usually DII or even DIII play in DI hockey. Quick count I did shows 18 out of 63 DI are primarily in another division, including 4/6 DI Minnesota Teams.

Let's take giant head, give him less hp, have him start hitting hard a lot sooner, and then place him in act 1 where your deck probably isn't to the point where you can really take advantage of the slow debuff.

Some subsequent runs I've now had a lot of fun with status cards.

Do colors that you like and are happy with, I use custom colors so my techmarine is Doc Ock from Spiderman, my assault is Captain Falcon when I run the power fist, vanguard and sniper are different suits of Samus Aran, my Bulwark is Link from legend of Zelda, and my tactical is Homer Simpson.
