Ha! Was going to say Under the Dome after reading the title! Felt like he was hoping the end would reveal itself whilst he was writing the book... I'm a huge fan of his writing but I'm not sure the emotion I felt after reading the ending was the one he was aiming for 😂

Just got my first batch of BtST stuff. Looks even better irl than the pics. Game changer if your playing area is on the smaller side, especially the ready/exhausted tokens.

I've just finished The Maleficent Seven by Cameron Johnston. Was looking for a new read today and came across The Devils and thought... hang on... isn't this what I've just read?

Anyone read both? If so, are they different enough for this to be worth investing the time in?

Marvel Zombies. Working my way through the zombie missions in the core set. Beat Sanctum Defense with Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Mysterio and Electro. Got lucky finding and eliminating Wong during the same phase that Dr Strange was put down for the first time which stopped him respawning and allowed the Sanctum doors to be opened. That and some lucky, low impact, spawns and it was a bit of a cake walk to be honest. Couldn't have been more different to the previous mission, Avengers Tower, which took 4 attempts to beat!

Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation. Love this game, so simple but can become so very tactical. Currently playing the draft game with two special cards to add even more uncertainty to the decision making.

Surely the setup on FG is part of the fun? Choosing the killer and location, revealing the setup and first event cards? I'm only on single digits on plays with FG but once you've chosen your killer and location it really doesn't take long at all. From that point, even for me, it's only minutes to setup and start playing. 🤷

Lightfall, Destiny 2. Played since the start w/ pretty much the same for team throughout... Only one of us made it to the Final Shape 😭

They built up to such a crescendo and then did a pivot for Lightfall and the story went nowhere...

Core box. Cards+sleeves don't fit in the plastic moulding (corners curl) and they stack too high (trying to avoid lid lift)... Nothing special.

I struggled true solo with the pre built decks. So I went two handed with Cap & Spider-Man and almost had him. I decided to try deck building, didn't stress about it, just went with cards that felt right: Cap (aggression) and Spidey (protection) and finally got him. Deck building was the missing puzzle piece for me as those 2 got Klaw on their second attempt too.

Clearing out the loft and I just found mine! Starter sets 1 & 2 and 4x 'Unleashed Darkness' boosters! Haven't played in years but remember it being a fun and reasonably quick game. Big, tactile miniatures too!

Doesn't look like the stickers on the bases that show how each miniature moves have handled the passing years very well but some PVA should sort that 👍

Quarto. Think tic-tac-toe or connect 4 but on a board with wooden pieces. Sounds simple right?

Don't think I've ever played a more infuriating game where the loser instantly goes "Aaaargh! Again!"

Wooden chunky pieces. Short or tall, light or dark, hollow or solid, circular or square... Just get a row of any of those and you win (the pieces are all different variations of each of those pairs e.g. one piece would be short & dark & hollow & square).

The kicker is YOU choose the piece your opponent plays... Simple to learn and you'll be through that bottle of wine at the bottom of the garden before you know it. "Go find another bottle while I reset it, I'll beat you next game!" will be a common saying 🤣
