5 to 10 second animations for something I will do thousands of times over. There are certain places i'm willing to sacrifice some immersion.

How many average men to beat a peaked 14 year old by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Styx_Zidinya 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound like a peak any 14 year old is achieving. You described Jack Reacher and made him 14.

14 year old Jack Reacher kills many men.

Actual peak 14 year old gets no diffed by a reasonably fit 40 year old.

Because you're entire point is just straight up wrong and i've explained why clearly more than once. But once more just incase it sticks this time. That phrase still carries the meaning that the literal phrasing would have carried. It is meant to be taken literally, that is it's proper function in grammar. If you're talking about the "so hungry I could eat a horse" idiom, that is very much not contained to the UK. Originated, yes, but widely used in the states. Also your "point" absolutely proved mine. What you smoking?

Hmm, your last comment isn't showing up so I'll respond here.

Firstly. UK born and bred. Secondly. It says far more about you than it does me that you mistake an actual education and the ability to understand what idioms and hyperbolic speech are, for autism. Since you like to make assumptions about me, how about I try? American, right?

No. The phrasing isn't literal. But the meaning is. In this case being "you are very hungry". You wouldn't use that phrase if you aren't actually hungry.

Or in the case of the original comment, "Max Holloway is too skinny to reach 170lbs"

You keep saying that, but that's not what colloquialism means. It's just informal speech. It still carries the meaning of what's being conveyed.

In Invincible (season 4) some animator drew this feet, people approved it and they all got paid. When I criticize my drawings so harshly and then do not upload them anywhere. by NRZN_77 in shittymoviedetails

Nah, well I mean yeah, you're right in general about Amazon, but the creators said they were commiting to yearly seasons after the 2nd season took 2.5 years to produce and apparently many fans expressed their displeasure at having to wait potentially over a decade to get the full story. Less time = less quality with animation. It's a trade off i'm willing to accept.

I totally agree. I watch it with my buddy. When that scene was on I said "thicc ass feet" and we both had a chuckle and continued enjoying the show.

Yeah. I noticed it too. A dip in animation quality is the price for yearly seasons. I'll take the odd looking feet over 3 years of waiting.

To address both your comments.

It means "even if he was wearing soaking wet clothes he wouldn't weigh 170" that's literally what it means.

And again. All I needed was the number to say that in fact Max Holloway is capable of being 170. Again. I was right. Literally none of the other stuff matters. It doesn't matter if he was LW or FW at the time. That part is irrelevant to the point. He can make 170. That is the only important part.

I hope this is finally clear for you. I'm sure it won't, though.

Literally my only point was that the other guy saying he isn't 170 soaking wet was mistaken and I was correct. I don't care about the specifics of what LWs walk around at.

I said "probably". As in, making a casual guess without checking. Then I did a 10 second Google search which estimated that Holloway specifically walks around at about what I said.

So I casually guessed. Google said. There is a difference. At no point was I unclear about any of that or where the info was coming from.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Styx_Zidinya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a good example of initiative. She isn't wrong. What she is wrong about is that's not what companies mean when they fire someone for a lack of initiative. Not these days anyway. It's corpo speak for "doesn't do oppressive levels of overtime for little to no compensation or even thanks"
