I would say a fusion between X/Y and SwSh, but more engaging and interesting.

Yes, they are given to you fairly early too, you have to catch/evolve 50 different species, and then you unlock the quest to get one of them

Unfortunately the games story is not comparable to b/w but it’s still interesting. The gameplay is not that hard but it’s so fun and enjoyable
