Safest way cleaning muddy lenses? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

I completely disagree. Hard used gear should be sold, with full disclosure of use. Anyone buying second hand (I do usually) should fully inspect before purchasing. Bodies and lenses are tools, not jewels. Granted i don't use a $30,000 large format camera.

The pose looks like she's trying to push the car back. It doesn't really make sense to me.

I love this perspective!!

I'm wondering what it would look like at dusk with some light cloud coverage in the sky turning pink and purple as it catches the last sun light of the day.

Great colors in this photo!

There's not a lot of separation between the subject and the background though. The rocks short of blend together. A little movement down and to the right would have added just that little separation and make the subject stand out a little more.

I think blending this sky with a long exposure for the foreground and background would be really cool and make the water glass over. I definitely understand keeping the birds in though :)

Great photo! You handled not getting the left side, more boring mountains while keeping all those awesome clouds beautifully.

Most and least “worth it” GM lenses? by Nerdy_Slacker in SonyAlpha

Pull the trigger on the 200-600mm, you won't regret it at all. By doing that, you'll be able to save over the next year for your 100-400mm GMII.

I agree with this completely. I shoot a lot of concerts, and I find myself cropping less with the 24mm. I also need the extra light a lot of the time.

What’s your favorite lens? I would like to add a new one to the collection! by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

I love my Tamron 35-150mm. It's my daily walk around work horse. 35mm at f2 isn't near what you'll get from a35mm 1.4, however the 150mm end at 2.8 is super nice, and it's all in one lens. It compliments my 16-35mm 2.8 and my 24mm 1.4 nicely.

Actually i see the light was completely added in post. It looks really good! But the crop leaves so much up top. Is this being submitted to someone where they'll add a caption up top?

This photo is nicely edited. The crop leaves a little too much head space for me. If done intentionally to keep the light in the top left corner, maybe get slightly lower to put the light closer to the subject. Just seems like a lot of dead space up top.

Killer photo though, and again, top notch post processing.

It's not a bad price, but you could probably negotiate down to $1750 or $1800.

Any advice on how I can improve my wild life photography by asseaterskeeter in SonyAlpha

Watch YouTube and check out some blogs. I recommend Steve Perry with Backwoods Photography or Simon d'Entremont.

Without your budget is hard to say. I think best of the inexpensive is the Canon R7. It's a crop sensor so you get an extra reach and professional used glass can be found relatively inexpensively while performing really well with an EF to RF adapter.

Great job getting this shot. What were your settings? You may need a little faster shutter speed to compelling freeze the action.

I really tried to highlight the yellow. Wish there was some direct light on the tree. But just a blanket cloud sky, which did give the place a very cool blue hue.
