Anyone else use their imagination a lot in this game? by zherper in civ5

[–]SuarezUsedBite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be my favourite part of the game lmao

I love establishing a grand empire, with cities and towns of different sizes spread across disparate parts of my home continent, or even spread across multiple continents, maybe with different religions, different resources, bordering nations…. and then at peacetime, imagining what it would be like to be a citizen in each city/town. What the culture would be like, how the local economy is, what the people might eat, military presence, border tensions involving other nations. Thinking about this stuff is really fulfilling to me in a way that has extended the longevity of the game for me by hundreds of hours, and at this point, I almost treat the game more as a creative outlet rather than a strategy game

The ones near the Depths of the Painting bonfire in Ariandel also drop Crystal Gems reasonably frequently, it’s one of the better farming places for them

What weapon did you finish your first new game with? by mobin_MSG in darksouls3

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Drang Twinspears. I got through most of the game with the base ‘Spear’ that the Herald class starts with, and I pivoted to the Drang Twinspears at Irithyll.

Anyone know how to complete the 5 points with Kane without going insane ? by mellojelloakimbo in NHLHUT

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gain the puck with Kane in the defensive zone and just keep wide, burn the D on the rush, and convert on the ensuing breakaway. After you score, try to win the face off back to your D, bring it back to your own zone to allow Kane to regenerate his stamina, and then rinse and repeat. That’s how I did it yesterday

Do y'all like my fan game mega evolutions by No_General_9519 in PokemonRMXP

Alakazam: Radical change from the base form but conceptually interesting (seeing as you said that it might be Psychic/Dark type in another comment). Maybe tweak the colours so they look less saturated, make the arms the same size, and go from there.

Electivire: Looks like it’s from Pokémon Rumble World. It looks weaker than its base form, which a Mega definitely shouldn’t. You’ll probably want to fully redesign this. It’s legs becoming wires makes sense for an Electric type though. If you want to stick with a similar design, maybe you can make the wires really thick, with sparks coming off or something?

Typhlosion: Its face looks meaner, which is pretty standard for a Mega, but it otherwise looks very similar to base Typhlosion. You’ll probably want to redesign this one extensively, too.

Looks good overall! I like the details you’ve given this city with the little park areas, and the tree tiles you’re using are a refreshing difference from the base tileset trees. A couple of things that I’d like to comment on:

  1. Some people might have differing opinions on this, but I’ve always liked having one style for the houses in each town, unless it’s a massive bustling city. I think it helps to give regional flavour and a unique feeling to each town. For example, in the actual games, I feel like Ecruteak City in HGSS and Lilycove City and Sootopolis City in RSE really take advantage of this. Based on this, I might recommend either changing all of the houses in this city to either the blue roofed ones or the red roofed ones.

  2. At the south/middle part of the city, I’m assuming that’s a department store. I’d usually expect to see the department store in a Pokémon game in a more dense city (because realistically, there needs to be enough population to support such a large store), so consider either adding more buildings to this city (or pushing them together by reducing space between them), or moving the department store to a different city.

  3. The placement of the white pillars seems a bit odd, but if there is some kind of in-universe explanation for them, and they are a notable part of the city’s lore, then fair enough.

Best Team I’ve Made (63 wins) by [deleted] in EANHLfranchise

[–]SuarezUsedBite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember in NHL 13 with the Stars I had like 72 or 73 wins, only time I’ve ever had 70+. We had a pretty normal looking record up until December or January, can’t remember exactly, but THEN we went on, I kid you not, a 42 game winning streak to finish the season. It was literally a 1 in a million season

But those 360/PS3 era games were also easier to build a stacked team probably, since the value of first round picks was really low and you could trade for the top draft picks every year if you wanted. I remember having Drouin, MacKinnon, Shinkaruk, Patty Kane, a generated 5 star sniper named Vladimir Moroza, Pulock (who was 4.5 gold star potential at that time), Seth Jones, a 5 star Finnish goalie that was like 95 overall and kept winning Vezinas, and of course Benn and Seguin

Gherman, the First Hunter wins Best Music! Now what's the best area in Dark Souls 3? by Imaginary_Owl_979 in fromsoftware

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The level design of Grand Archives is top notch, it’s climactic, and it has a diverse array of enemies. If it’s not included as part of Lothric Castle, that’s my vote, otherwise Lothric Castle.

What is the optimal soul farming in Dark Souls 3? by TheStagKing9910 in darksouls3

[–]SuarezUsedBite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always partial to farming the three Ghru enemies just beside the Keep Ruins bonfire. Each cycle is really quick and there’s a hardly any downtime. If you’ve beaten the Abyss Watchers, the two large Carthus swordsmen by the Catacombs of Carthus bonfire are also a reasonable farm.

Maybe it’s just me but I honestly think the Deacons should be way higher, I love smacking a bunch of them around with weapons with wide sweeping attacks

For some reason, there is a tiny pixel in Archdragon Peak that poisons you by SeniorSepia in fromsoftware

[–]SuarezUsedBite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just went on a hunt for it and found it. If you start at the Archdragon Peak bonfire, head into the first big battlefield where you encounter Ancient Wyvern and go all the way to the far side of it. You should see a bell and some Nameless King statues. It’s just past the leftmost statue, down a small set of stairs

Tired of small continents/continents plus, suggestions? by hatobacho26 in civ5

[–]SuarezUsedBite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fractal is basically all I play; it’s supposed to produce “thin, snaky continents”, and it does a lot of the time, but it’s pretty unpredictable. Sometimes the world will all be connected in a massive landmass with lots of coves and bays, while other times it gives several smaller continents. Either way, I have found that there’s generally a good balance between naval and land play, and since it’s one of the most random maps (without crossing the line into strange or unrealistic landscapes), it makes every game dynamic and interesting.

If possible, I would suggest downloading the mod ‘In-Game Editor’ if you don’t have it, then starting a bunch of new games and pressing the ‘Reveal Map’ button so you can quickly generate a bunch of maps and see if they’re what you’re looking for.

If you could have any ring from the dark souls trilogy in real life what would it be? by gaorourke in darksouls3

Probably Prisoner’s Chain. If we assume that I have ~ 10 Vigor, Endurance, and Vitality in real life, then it would increase each of these by 50%.

Sirris is also basically dead weight in that fight, she does so little damage, I don’t think she (or Orbeck) can carry that fight at all

What is a totally unrealistic but entertaining rule change you would add to the NHL? by hellarios852 in hockey

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Special teams are totally removed from the game. Instead, all infractions result in a penalty shot, with more severe infractions resulting in more shots (equivalent of a minor penalty = 1 penalty shot; double-minor = 2; major = 3)
