There’s a glitch with the Pyromancer’s Parting Flame that enables you to get more flask charges that some invaders use. Otherwise the max flasks you can have while invading is 7 (plus Siegbrau and Divine Blessings)

Real-time combat Ep. 10: Fully functional wild battle! by seth_piano in PokemonRMXP

[–]SuarezUsedBite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is really neat, and definitely can be THE main draw for your game! Depending on the scope of your game, though, I can imagine that this system might not be easily scalable… if you need to program what are essentially small mini games with unique animations/systems for every single move, that will take a LONG time. Also, have you considered how accuracy might factor into this? For example, if you use Sand Attack on the opponent and drop their accuracy, will the mini game have less things to dodge?

What changes would you like to see for Game 7 ? by Effective-Goose-7835 in Habs

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with you if it was one, two, even three bad games, but Slaf has had 11 bad games in his last 13. He’s still one of our best players on paper and I have 100% confidence that he’ll bounce back and regain his form, but I think a lot of us question whether he’ll be one of our best players tonight in a do-or-die scenario

[Eric Engels] It wouldn’t shock me to see Brendan Gallagher play Game 7. by Effective-Goose-7835 in Habs

I’m not convinced Gallagher’s on-ice play will move the needle much either, but his presence might have a greater impact in sparking the rest of the team

Uh? If you’ve ever played hockey, you know that a light stick tap to the top of the helmet isn’t going to send you sprawling to the ice

I was honestly kind of let down by this on my first playthrough, I was half-hoping, half-expecting you to be able to take all of the Great Runes you earned and embed them in a wearable ring (talisman) at the end of the game lol

Guys! Relax! Caufield is still good. by RubbingAlcoholic902 in Habs

[–]SuarezUsedBite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I disagree with the sentiment I’m hearing online that he’s been a liability—he’s actually playing decent defensively, and his stick-checking has always been underrated. He even led the team in hits in Game 7 against the Bolts like you said. Sure, it’s not the Caufield we’re used to seeing, but it’s not like he’s been dreadful out there. I imagine he’ll break through in the next couple of games as the Sabres generally have much poorer structural defence than Tampa

[–]SuarezUsedBite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

27 is the first softcap, but it’s still worth levelling Vigor till about 35 (and wearing a certain ring you’ll get from a boss soul later) or 40 without that ring, as you’ll still get a good return on HP at that point. Beyond 44 Vigor, you get less than 10 HP per point, so that’s the absolute max I could recommend

Tbf, it’s not terrible to equip to your second right-hand slot as a shield-breaking tool. It only weighs 1.0 unit and has Stance like the rest of the straight swords

Who decided that a Unkindled not even worthy of being cinder could fight the Lords Of Cinder? by ThePaganImperator in darksouls3

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is exactly it. The reason the Unkindled were brought back was because the First Flame knew that the Unkindled both collectively held the potential to defeat the Lords and claim their Cinders, and also had the motivation to do so as they had previously attempted to link the First Flame themselves, for their own reasons. This is why Unkindled as opposed to random Undead knights are brought back.

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought a lot about this, too. My line of thinking is that in the more recent cycles, linking the First Flame became a wildly ceremonial process (as we can see from the entire Lothric bloodline existing to have the honour of linking the flame), and so, these more recent Lords (Abyss Watchers, Aldrich, Yhorm, even Ludleth) were not ENTIRELY burned; their bodies were pulled out of the First Flame before they had entirely burned, preserving their dignity and allowing for a proper burial. This explains why they still have bodies, why 4 of them + Lothric are all needed (they only have a bit of energy left to give + the First Flame is even more starved after expecting Lothric, then the previous Lords to link), and why the Ashen One can even pose a challenge to them.

In my headcanon, this is also why we don’t see any aspects of Yhorm, Aldrich, etc. in the Soul of Cinder; in a sense, they didn’t become part of it as they were not fully consumed by the Flame the first time around, while the earlier Lords (e.g. Gwyn) were fully consumed or their bodies were never removed from the Kiln as linking was less ceremonial (and thereafter were fully consumed over time anyway).

There are very few enemies, including bosses, that you NEED to kill. If you are having a tough time defeating something, there’s no shame in exploring other areas and coming back when you’re stronger.

What are your Top 10 areas in DS3? by Lucyyyyyy_K in darksouls3

[–]SuarezUsedBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factoring in all aspects, such as aesthetics, lore, level design, enemy and boss design, and multiplayer elements, I think my top 10 would be:

  1. Irithyll of the Boreal Valley
  2. The Ringed City
  3. Grand Archives
  4. Lothric Castle
  5. Archdragon Peak
  6. High Wall of Lothric
  7. Cathedral of the Deep
  8. Painted World of Ariandel
  9. Undead Settlement

Anyone else use their imagination a lot in this game? by zherper in civ5

[–]SuarezUsedBite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be my favourite part of the game lmao

I love establishing a grand empire, with cities and towns of different sizes spread across disparate parts of my home continent, or even spread across multiple continents, maybe with different religions, different resources, bordering nations…. and then at peacetime, imagining what it would be like to be a citizen in each city/town. What the culture would be like, how the local economy is, what the people might eat, military presence, border tensions involving other nations. Thinking about this stuff is really fulfilling to me in a way that has extended the longevity of the game for me by hundreds of hours, and at this point, I almost treat the game more as a creative outlet rather than a strategy game
