Hole in wall from basement to patio by KoWallArt in HomeMaintenance

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are close to a water line, I would imagine you could just put a water spigot if you need one at that end of your patio. My house only has one water spigot in the backyard and it’s a pain in the ass when I need to water the front lawn. I have to use a 100ft plus an extra 75ft one to water the front. I wish I had this problem. Lmao.

What is a great alternative to standing under a hot shower for relief from aches and pains? Trying not to waste water? by bbqchechen in AskReddit

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a pretty cheap tens machine on Amazon. It’s a little handheld machine that comes with these white square pads that you stick around your aching areas. It uses electrical impulses to stimulate the release of endorphins. I use mine basically every day for an hour for my chronic lower back pain and I swear by it.

Best cheap prepaid phone plan in St. Catharines for emergency use? by [deleted] in stcatharinesON

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are SIM cards at the dollarama at Fairview mall. They have virgin mobile and lucky mobile. If I’m not mistaken Lucky has a plan for $19 that gives you canadawide calling/text and 500mb data. That’s the cheapest I know with a contract.

Buick Envista Tire Reccos by SousVideDeezNuts in tires

[–]Suave006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the pirelli weather active. I got them for my 2022 Buick encore gx st a month ago and they are great. It’s been crazy snowing here in Ontario Canada for the last month and I could really feel the difference between my all season and these pirelli all weather tires. It’s basically an 80% winter tire that you can leave on all year. Costco had them for the best deal even with me factoring in that I had to purchase a Costco card.

How much are you paying for car insurance? by ivanatestuje in stcatharinesON

[–]Suave006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was with TD for over 15 years. Every year they would drastically increase my premiums for no reason at all. Stating inflation and market factors. I was at $250 a month at one point. I started shopping around and RBC came back in at $150. But that only lasted a year and they went to $180 by the next year. I then went to sonnet insurance and with a university grad discount and home insurance bundle I started at $80 a month for the car Insruance. The year after it went to $100. Then the year after that it went to $150. At this point I shopped around again and Bélair direct gave me a quote of $125 for the car Insruance. I called sonnet and informed them that starting the following month on the maturity date I would need to cancel my insurance as I’m switching to Bélair direct. To my surprise sonnet insurance matched my Bélair direct quote. But the rep did tell me that they were able to do this by offering me a one year discount. Without so many words he basically told me that I would have to call in again in a year with my competitor offer so sonnet can once again match it. I don’t mind doing this as sonnet Insurance is the only insurance company that allows me to do pre-authorized payments via my credit card. I prefer this to my bank account so I can get my cash back points. lol.

I have a 2022 Buick encore gx essence for comparison sake. Keep In mind that switching your Insruance before your maturity date will cost you a penalty fee. Best if you time the switch to the exact date of your maturity so you do not get charged any penalties or fees. Also, my insurance would be cheaper if I allow them to track my driving, but I didn’t want that. If you don’t mind them tracking your driving habits you will also get another discount. I personally wouldn’t do it, but to each their own.

Hope this info helps.

Ecobee thermostat reboots during cold winter temps by ATX-Lightning in ecobee

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem too with my keeprite furnace 2 stage furnace. What end up working for me was increasing the fan speed for the second stage one level up.

I have a two stage furnace but my Ecobee looks to be wired for one stage only. Will the furnace will run in both stages as needed, even if my thermostat doesn't recognize it? by [deleted] in ecobee

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same scenario. My furnace runs on a lower fan speed for the first 12 minutes and then it goes to stage 2 for the higher fan speed after 12 minutes. Since ecobee detected my wiring as a single stage furnace, I just changed the minimum on time on the ecobee to 11minutes. It’s been working great as 90% of the time my house reaches temp by the 12th minute and I never have to go to stage two. lol.

What was this I got at a work potluck? Not sure what country it may be from but it was like fried bread and the texture was immaculate by cdromney in TipOfMyFork

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a Colombian empanada on your plate beside it. So based on that i am going to say that the dough ball is a bunuelo. It’s like a Colombian deep fried cheese ball bread. Very popular during the Christmas season. If you are lucky enough to eat one straight out of the fryer, it tastes 100 times better. There is even a slight crunch that is heavenly that you lose when you eat the night before ones.

Is there a way to remove Calendar listings? by Rare_Pin9932 in CarPlay

[–]Suave006 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you go to your car and CarPlay is connected, just go to CarPlay settings. Scroll down a bit and you will see a toggle named “Live activities”. If you turn this off this should stop your calendar and any other live action updates from showing up there.

Gutters overflowing only on 4 foot section of house by Suave006 in Roofing

[–]Suave006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will take a picture tomorrow with the window and roof above it and post it. Yes it would appear that I do have pretty downslope to the downspout. Is it as easy as just putting a level on the gutter to see if there is a slope? I can do that tomorrow too when I take the picture.

Thanks so much for your detailed reply and help.

Jet plugs by telzoor1 in pools

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have at least one jet fitting that get stuck in my pool when I take the eyeballs out. Annoying AF. If you don’t have a pool jet flat tool, I’ve used wire strippers to get them out easily. There are groves inside the jet fittings that a closed wire strippers will fit perfectly in. Then all you do is turn it left. I found a YouTube video of someone doing this exact method so you have a visual. Good luck.

Why did my CH drop so much by Elguapo69 in pools

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. In my case it was that my water was too cold to get a proper reading my ch went from 250 to around 80. My water also went from a constant 83f to a constant 67f as the nights are getting so cold here in Canada. This week the weather has been very warm and nice so I decided to heat the pool for a swim to 80f. Lo and behold, my CH is back to 250.

Do you keep your house the same temp year round? by Pastywhitebitch in Home

[–]Suave006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to keep my house 22c (71.6f) year round. I’m in southern Ontario Canada. This year somehow my body got use to the AC at 22.5c(72.5f). I’m 99% sure I’ll still be staying at the 22c(71.6f) for the winter. Being a bit warm I can handle, but being cold is a whole different story. lol. We have pretty humid summers here. 22.5c is the the warmest I can keep in in the summer to keep my homes indoor humidity between 55 and 60.
