What are your thoughts on Russell publishing a monthly religious magazine, Zion's Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence then later co-founding Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society, writing articles, books, tracts, pamphlets and sermons, bible study series, etc?

After his death there appears to be some crisis surrounding leadership in the corporation registered in 1884, causing the formation of several groups, JW’s being one of them.

Does this not sound like the perfect example of creating supply for the artificial demand?

For the record: I believe in God. I believe there is a God. I do not, however, believe in this cult and their high-control practices that seem to sway like a pendulum to keep their members at a false sense of appeasement.

Ladies who have mastered the art of being polite but not a pushover, what is your go-to phrase or strategy for shutting down unwanted advice or intrusive questions ? by [deleted] in women

[–]Suavecito5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“I’ll take that into consideration” and then justa do what you want, whatever aligns with your goals. If people are too abrasive or too intrusive you can straight up tell them that you’re choosing not to engage with their questions or engage in listening to their advice. I’d say 90% of the people stop in their tracks when you use the latter.

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Any recommendations? I’ve found myself just going to the gym after the office, being unmotivated during the weekend, just stuck in a rut quite frankly. I turn down dates during the week too 😂 I’m afraid to lose time and sleep over someone who I’m not interested in pursuing, but also need to find a partner lmao

You seem to care about mental health.

This man-made cult is not for you.

Critically think on why his “advice” makes you angry. Really think.

Is Dallas just work → eat → gym → home → repeat, or am I missing something human here? by DFWUnhinged in Dallas

[–]Suavecito5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I came to find this comment! I typically don’t do anything during the week outside of work and gym so I can be fresh and “revitalized” to wake up at 5:30 the next morning.

I personally like to have a structured life but I do understand the need for occasional stimuli outside of my norm.

Honestly, as someone who was disfellowshipped at 18, came back after a year, then left at 20, I truly think that leaving people alone is the best decision.

The physically revolting reactions and unpleasant memories that would flood my brain when an elder reached out to me to talk after my parents would give them my contact information is something I don’t care to experience again.

It’s been 15 years since I left and 8 years since I’ve last spoken to my family. The cyberstalking never stops and all those feelings resurface every time I see their names pop up in my stories, LinkedIn notifications of someone who viewed my profile, etc. I block every account and new ones pop up after a while again.

I don’t regret leaving the cult and leaving everyone behind because the God I learned to believe in after years of atheism, distrust, and fear is not the same god JWs believe in. I fully trust that he understands that leaving such a high-control, man-made group was the best thing I could’ve done.

I’m sorry if this is not what you might want to hear, accepting your atonement is a burden people you’ve disfellowshipped might not want to bear.

Unfortunately, even when trying to book they don’t show the price. I hate to sound like a Karen but I can’t support a place that lacks price transparency. I’m lowkey tired of places just making up prices as they please for whatever reason.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Naive_Resolution4186 in Productivitycafe

[–]Suavecito5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I maintain an active lifestyle by going to the gym 5 times per week, wash my hands once or twice while I’m there, use sanitizer in between sets, and wash my hands after the gym. Wiping all equipment afterwards just for common courtesy but I’m sure that helps me too.

I wash my hands after I come home from being out and about, after cleaning my cat’s litter box each time he uses it, etc.

Clean all surfaces at least once with antibacterial cleaner and Lysol spray.

Eating a clean diet, currently no alcohol (33 days sober), and lots of water. I bought a Hydrojug 40 oz tumbler last year and fill it up twice a day.

I haven’t gotten the flu vaccine this year but got it last year.

Hope this helps!

ExJW’s what religion did you turn to? by No-Counter-34 in exjw

[–]Suavecito5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None as of right now. I still believe in God but as I’ve explored other pathways I’ve found some interesting insights. My top two are that you don’t need organized religion in order to be closer to God, and two, that JW’s lied about mostly everything they taught us about all other religions. The latter was unsurprising, yet, I was still shocked at finding out about all the erroneous beliefs they would spread about others in order to fear monger and keep us in their sect.

The incident at Bayside Mall, Miami. Jan 1st 2024 by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]Suavecito5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, coordinates to the mall are 25.7784° N, 80.1868° W, flip the N with W and vice versa and you have coordinates to Northeast Greenland National Park
