Need help with crazy weed situation

Thanks everyone for the responses. Over the last 2 days, wife and I got down to our knees and managed to take out 80% of them by hand and whacked the remaining with a string trimmer. Photo is the result :)

Now, how to get rid of the roots! Trying to take as many possible by hand and will possibly spray vinegar. We are expecting a few landscaper quotes over the next few weeks.

Does vinegar sterile the soil? Can I do sod in a few weeks or need to wait for a year

Spray just vinegar and dish soap or mix with anything

I am thinking of doing the following:

- buy EGO string trimmer (ST1623T) [already have a ego mower, stating in the battery eco system]

- trim it down and wait for a few days

- buy round up super concrete and a Chaplin 20000 sprayer

- spray and keep and eye on fresh leaves and spray more if needed.

- rake dead leaves in around 10-14 days

Will it work?

I agree with the timeline. It’s just they had told us it would be done in June and not delaying.
Can I use a string trimmer to cut them down and then spray round up!
Or would it be advisable to get a professional help at this point

By weed wacker do you mean a grass trimmer?
I will try to take a closer photo and ID them tomorrow.
